Affordable Get Away in a cool town
We had a great stay! Owner was very responsive. What a great time!
So happy to hear you had a wonderful time in Urbanna! We love our little town. "Sprout Cottage" may be nothing fancy but it's a perfect spot to unwind! It now has an annual renter in it but it will be available for vacation getaways starting next July 1, 2018.
Cute old house, bigger than expected. Quiet street, nice grassy area with beautiful tall trees.
This is our second year opening our "Sprout Cottage" to VRBO and Home Away guests and guess what? We are having the most wonderful people come to our charming, historical river front town in Urbanna, Virginia for a short and fun vacation! The Sprout is rented long term this year starting in July 1 to June 30 2018, but it will be available again after next June and it's not too early to plan a trip to Tidewater, Virginia.
Quaint little cottage in a beautiful little community
We enjoyed our stay in the Sprout Cottage. There are a couple of things my husband would have appreciated during the 3 weeks he stayed there alone. One would have been a TV to least be able to view the news and weather from, cable would not have been necessary but local channels would have been nice. Also a door on the bedroom would have been a bit better since the bathroom was located just outside of what we called the master bedroom and the nights our children stayed over, would have afforded a bit more privacy for all of us. A bit stronger Wi-Fi access would have been a great improvement for me when I was there, since a lot of my communication with my job is through the internet and although our hosts did make us aware of where the strongest signal was it was still hard to obtain most of the time. We know probably most of their guests do not spend a month at the cottage but for those occasional guests who would like to spend more time, those things would be a great addition to the little cottage. We would definitely stay again if we were in need of a rental in the area as it more than served our purpose for renting it.
Thank you for coming to Urbanna and staying at "Sprout Cottage" and also for writing our very first review! We agree the Sprout is probably best for short term stays for those who are in the area to see the sights and only require good. clean, comfortable, safe and private lodging in a park-like setting in a beautiful neighborhood (just a half block from the Rappahannock River) rather than for someone who requires a longer stay. Who could do without TV for three weeks!!! The Sprout has lots of character but few amenities ...like cable TV, phone, dishwasher, etc, etc. We have thought about adding more amenities to the Sprout but have decided since rental properties in Urbanna are so expensive, it is best for us to offer basic accomodations in a lovely neighborhood (you can actually get a glimpse of the river from the back yard) and keep our rates as low as possible and the best bargain in town. We do hope that you will come back to beautiful, small town Urbanna soon. Best wishes.
