Property type farmhouse
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 Bath Waterfront Farmhouse With Sweeping Water Views From Deck.

Our home, a 175 year restored Waterfront antique, is beautifully situated, on a tiered landscape with stone steps and sweeping lawns that border the creek. There are many pocket swimming holes and kayaking, canoeing, and fishing are feasible from the back yard. The creek has a wonderful little island on which we regularly go looking for arrow heads, and find them.

The home comfortably sleeps five in three bedrooms; there are two queen size beds and a one smaller bedroom. The living-room has an over-sized couch and a chaise to accommodate or two more. There is a sweeping deck facing the water a formal dining-room and a library filled with books, games and movies.

Why Marlene Castricato chose Hudson Valley

This property has all the charm of a two hundred year old house with updated bathrooms and kitchen. The tier lawn with stone steps is added charm. There is an island in the creek which 2/3 belongs to the house. its a very cool perk.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The library was a custom paint job 20 years ago that gives you the impression of being in a dated sun room Really an original. The firehouse while original to the house is completely functional

Perfect private getaway!

We had a wonderful stay here. Amenities are comfortable and you can't beat the view. The property owner was always in touch and very helpful. It was a perfect private getaway. We couldn't be more pleased with the experience.

Great views outside; needs updating inside.

The overall property was beautiful. Great for swimming but my husband couldn't catch any fish. The freezer didn't freeze. The bbq didn't bbq. The tv kept shutting off. The first floor got very hot. For the money I would have expected more.

Owner's Response: Hi Kerry The propert is beautiful; idyl for swimming and cooling off. I am glad you were able to make yourself at home. I'm so sorry your stay was not perfect. The number in the freezer was too low. Froze ice cream perfectly when raised. I was sending over the handyman to fix the grill, when your husband made a small adjustment, afterwhich it worked perfectly. Yoy were without a BBQ for an hour. We had the cable service checked. We detected no problems, prior and subsequent guests had no problems. I am sorry that the fish did not cooperate. I hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer Best egards Marlene

My new home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for a great week in the Berkshires. Your home is both comfortable and inviting. We loved hanging out on the deck facing the water and sitting by the fireplace in the evening. Lots to do close by. We'll be back in a couple of months for the skiing.
