On arrival Diane greeted us and she had provided free range eggs, local olive oil and bread from the bakery, which I would say was above good customer service, the property was spotless and were flowers on the dining room table picked from the garden around the villa, these were replenished through out the week, another lovely touch.
The sheets were changed daily also the towels were white and extremely fluffy, the villa itself was home from home.
The local bakery was a few yards up the road, also a supermarket that stocked absolutely everything, a local butchers and a fruit stall, all the produce was fresh and from the surrounding area.
A few yards down the road was a beach and a couple of lovely taverners next to the sea with lovely views.
The pool was a good size and cleaned every evening
The Villas were beautifully maintained and a lot of thought had been put into the positioning of the villas as you could sit on your terrace and not be overlooked.
I thoroughly recommend these villas and I will be returning next year.
We were a family group of 11 ranging in ages from 7 - 74, and hired 3 of the 4 villas in the little complex, Jasmine, Mimosa and Hibiscus. The surroundings are just perfect, set in a beautiful vi years, and just up the road us a superb bakery, useful village shop, butcher and fruit/veg shack, so we lacked nothing. We hired cars in order to explore the island, and we're delighted to find how green and beautiful it is. Porto Zoro is a beach worth seeking out for snorkelling. Try Alykeyes for self drive boat hire to explore the coast and the blue caves.
We had a fabulous holiday at The Olive Tree Villas. Villa Jasmine was perfect for us, it was cleaned each day and has absolutely everything we needed. The large pool was really lovely and situated in beautifully kept gardens. Diana and Olympia looked after us so well – it was a real pleasure to chat to Diana about local life, places to visit and things to do. Many things make this a great place for a relaxing holiday from the easy communication when booking with Diana and the arrangement of local car hire to the home produced olive oil and newly laid eggs Diana provides at the beginning of your stay. It all adds up to a perfect holiday.
The location was great with several taverna’s within easy walking distance and the bakery, butcher and supermarket only 5 minutes walk away.
Taverna Vardiola was our favourite local taverna. The food was excellent, the staff really friendly and it has a lovely view across the sea to Kefalonia, particularly at sunset. The teenagers enjoyed the WiFi access!
Not to be missed is Diana & Lakis’s taverna in Tsilivi. At the Olive Tree Taverna you will enjoy some of the best food on the island. Lakis’s signature dish – lamb shank - was really special.
Highly recommended is a trip on Captain Spiros’ boat to the shipwreck and the Blue caves. It is great fun and a brilliant way to see more of the Island. He is a friend of Diana’s so she can book this for you.
Diana has created a perfect oasis of four villas set amongst the olive groves, near the delightful hilltop village of Kypseli. We highly recommend the Olive Tree Villas.
What a wonderful place for a perfect relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The beautifully kept villas which are looked after by the lovely Olympia have everything you need for your stay. The pool is beautifully clean and the flowers and gardens lovely and fragrant. The village location is ideal it's quiet yet only a few minutes walk to a butchers bakers fruit stall and mini supermarket. Restaurants are nearby and only minutes away from the larger town of Tsilivi where there are many facilities and Diana has the Olive Tree taverna which incidentally was the best restaurant we ate at during our two week stay! Diana herself visits every day to make sure all is well and helped us with many things, nothing was too much trouble even though she is a very busy woman! She brought us eggs and olive oil that they produce and when my daughter had prickly heat within a few hours Diana was there with a bottle of something she had made from her herbal remedy book and it worked! For anyone wanting total relaxation I would strongly recommend olivetree villas. We hired a car and visited all over this beautiful island we found lovely beaches and twice rented a boat for the day and swam in little quiet coves took a picnic and once saw a turtle. We visited a little farm come vineyard for lunch .We were the only ones there but the couple were so friendly we eventually left with tomato plants and wine that they insisted we have for nothing. I suggest taking a few DVDs for children or inclement weather as sky doesn't seem to like it here. In a nutshell we loved it and I'm not easy to please. We will be returning.
So much thought, love and attention has been put into the building, maintaining and the running of this fabulous villa complex on the gorgeous Greek island of Zakynthos. Set on the edge of the village of Kypseli amongst the olive groves the villas are spotlessly clean and well equipped. We love to cook and ate freshly prepared local food at our villa most nights Including using the stone built BBQ twice. The organic eggs and olive oil produced by Diana and Lakis (the owners) are delicious.
The villa has three terraces so you can find the sun whatever time of day, with views from the upper terrace across to the neighbouring Island of Kefalonia . Great place for that relaxing late evening night cap! We visited out of season early May 2013 , weather was gorgeous and we had the privilege of experiencing the Greek Orthodox Church Easter celebrations. Our transfer from the airport was easy and inexpensive , as was hiring a car to visit more of this wonderful Greek Island.
Thanks to the effort that Diana and Lakis put into running these villas our holiday was both extremely relaxing and very cultural. The perfect combination. We are planning our return visit which I think says it all. All I can say is go ahead....book and ENJOY......
Every review for these 4 beautiful villas is 5* and so it should be. The Villas are just lovely, you couldn't ask for more. A great setting with very thoughtful layout and landscaping, the flowers and plants are fabulous, the pool very clean as are the Villas and Diana and Lakis couldn't be more friendly or helpful. We had a perfect beach/pool holiday and would strongly recommend these 4 lovely Villas. The beach, tavernas and a few shops are all within walking distance making this one of the most relaxed holidays we have had.
The gentle pace of life in Kypseli lends itself beautifully to simple, relaxed tourism. The predominently agricultural countryside spreads right down to the sea & tourist accommodation is sprinkled between olive & citrus groves, vineyards & farm gardens. The villas are ideally situated to enjoy all the simple pleasures that Kypseli has to offer. The beach is a 3min stroll away down a quiet, narrow road. It is mainly pebble, with some sandy parts & remains peacefully unspoilt. The sea is clean and clear & great for snorkelling. 2 of the best fish tavernas on the island can be found at the water's edge here. The local, well-stocked supermarket is 300m away at the crossroads, as is the nearest taverna. Nightlife is traditional and simple, informal & impromptu, but there's plenty of choice. There are 2 excellent fish tavernas, 2 restaurants, a beach-side garden bar and 2 grill-houses. The more touristic resorts of Tsilivi (4km) and Alykes (7km) offer more lively and varied nightlife.
Other Activities: great snorkelling at the local beach; mini-golf; bowling and laser-games 4km away in Tsilivi.
