Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Fairbanks

Two Bedroom, One Bathroom Log House With Northern Views Of Sunrises And Sunsets.

Relax in this peaceful setting year round during your vacation or business trip just 10 minutes from the airport. This log home offers secluded hillside accommodations with a northern view with lovely sunrise colors and sunsets and maybe a moose. Summers are glorious and if you choose to stay home all day consider yourself lucky. On a good Aurora night you can enjoy the view from any of the 3 decks, the living room and even the bedrooms. Our small hillside trail really gets you into the dark for viewing the Aurora Borealis, star gazing and satellite spotting. Enjoy the sauna and cook a steak on the deck at -40 below or +80 above depending on your calendar. Simply the nicest location for starting and ending every day while in Fairbanks!

You have the entire house on 2 acres to yourselves. Two couples are very comfortable in this 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom house and you can accommodate up to 6. Each bedroom has queen beds and the master includes a large closet. The bedrooms and bathroom are topside so the downstairs living, dining and kitchen are spacious. The living room has a leather couch that opens to a plush queen sized sleeper and 2 very comfortable chairs. The kitchen is cozy and pleasant, the dining table seats 6 and there are TV trays if you need to spread out. Slip out of the living room via the glass door to the viewing deck with chairs and barbeque. The big lower deck has a bench, chairs and a sauna for the bold during the winter. The entry area is a neat place to sit, play darts and have refreshments at the tall bar.

This is Classic Alaskan hillside living. Welcome to Chena Ridge. Welcome home!

Why Gus Bystedt chose Alaska

We have owned this beautiful log home next to ours for many years in this hillside neighborhood. Having just completed refreshing the interior and exterior we offer this house for you to enjoy real Alaskan living. This is a beautifully decorated house which makes you feel right at home. The Chena Ridge area is beautiful all seasons and you feel very secluded and away from the town yet its only 10 minutes to everything.

What makes this house unique

This house is so easy to relax in and enjoy your time. We have included everything expected to make you comfortable during your stay and a few extras. You can take a safe walk in the small neighborhood. I can park the Skidoos in the rally yard for viewing if you haven't been up close to see what they look like. Our hillside trail is a short walk for exercise and Aurora viewing and you can be back to the house in a jiffy or take it easy on any of the three decks.

Super sweet place!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is really well taken care of and easy to manage despite its in the woods location.

Very nice for a small group or couple who are comfortable with a little driving.

Hosts were quite nice didn’t see them much, just enough.

It was perfect for our group!

Beautiful, clean, and spacious!

  • 5 of 5

Home is beautiful, along with the property. Very clean and well stocked with items needed to cook in the kitchen, as well as bedding. Plenty of room for 6 of us with the fold out beds. Owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Gave us some great ideas for things to do in the area. The antique auto museum was very cool, and a must see. Sauna was also a nice perk on the property and I'm sure will be great in the winter months. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful house and setting!

  • 5 of 5

This house and setting was beautiful. Of all the vrbo rentals in our now 15 days in Alaska...this is the best, cleanest, and well appointed home. Only wish we had planned more time there. Owners are great!

Cute and Cozy Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time at this cabin. It is very well taken care of and stocked with everything you could need. Plenty of blankets and towels. Comfortable beds and the sauna and swing set were great bonuses! Can't say enough good things about our stay, and we would definitely stay here again!

What a wonderful stay! June 23rd - July 2nd 2016

  • 5 of 5

This little slice of heaven was perfect for our family. From booking the rental until the moment we left everything was really great! The owners Gus and Gari are the best and live next door although never a bother. They leave you their home and cell numbers should you need anything at all during your stay. The cabin has everything you could need from toilet paper and paper towels to seasonings for cooking and grilling!

We used the gas grill a few times during our 9 night stay. What a beautiful view from the back deck! Gus even noticed upon arriving home from work one evening that we had a few extra guests over and brought us a few more chairs for use on the deck!

We were there to visit our son who is stationed at the Army base. This cabin was very close to the airport, shopping, restaurants, and even the base. Very easy to get to everything. was great to go shopping for food for the week and have everything on hand. Not having to eat out every meal was a huge plus. We felt very at home. Although the Pump House, Banks Alehouse and Pikes were all great places to eat! Try the bottomless memosas and brunch buffet at Pikes if you happen to be there on Sunday morning!

Cabin is very clean and well maintained. You can tell Gus and Gari take pride in this little gem! We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit providing it is available of course.

I couldn't imagine being taken better care of anywhere else.
