About Jeff and Jackie Downes

We built this year round vacation home to really get away and enjoy it with family and friends. We love the beautiful scenery of the Green Mountains in every season. We love the peacefulness that comes from being surrounded by water.

Jeff and Jackie Downes purchased this house in 2013

Why Jeff and Jackie Downes chose Eden

We chose to build in VT because we have travelled here for many years to visit family. It is so calming to leave southern New England, not have to contend with traffic to get to this serene lake home.

What makes this house unique

We chose to build a home on lake Eden because it is so clean and the views are remarkable. We love that we don't need to pack up to go to the water. It is easy living at it's best.

Clean and cozy !

  • 5 of 5

The house was very clean and accommodating. Everything we needed was there . The market down the road was great too . No restaurants in the town ( that we could find) so we ended up getting food to cook at the house and it worked out great . Im hoping to go back during the summer to enjoy the lake !

Perfect Escape and Perfect House

  • 5 of 5

Myself and 6 other travelers stayed at the house for an unforgettable 3 nights in hopes to ski the nearby ski locations i.e. Jay Peak, Stowe, Smuggler's. All three are about 30 minutes away making Jeff and Jackie's lake house even more ideal. Temperatures outside were frigid, however the house stayed plenty warm and plenty cozy while we unwound and relaxed each night in preparation for the next day's formidable skiconditions. Highly recommend their house to anyone looking to plan a Vermont (ski) Trip and have no doubts that it also doubles as an incredible lake house in the warmer seasons. Beds, bathrooms, kitchen all were fully stocked and every amenity we needed was there. We also had no problem getting to the house without 4WD vehicles. Truly a great house/location that we'll never forget!

Great spot

  • 4 of 5

House is new and updated. Plenty of room. Our kids were in heaven with the selection of toys and old games. Great fishing in the lake. Caught a ton of small mouth and large panfish. Crawfish are everywhere in this lake if you have little nature kids like us. The house has great views. I think you can see the water on literally every side of the house. Only took off one star because the campground across the way kind of caught us off guard. It got a little busy on the weekend, but it quited down during the week.

We rented the Downes' property for 10 days and had an absolute blast. The weather, the views, the location; everything was perfect. Can't wait to visit again! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.

Great views lots of room and lots to do.

  • 5 of 5

House was wonderful and lots of new memories were made. Can't say enough good things about these folks. When our house fell through six days before our planned trip they were so accommodating and easy to work with. Thank you thank you. Rooms are big and we had plenty of room to all be together or have a quite space to be alone if needed. The house is great for kids of all ages. Our two Grandkids loved the downstairs play area and sandbox. The adults swam, fished, kayaked and had a real relaxing time. Plenty of games and puzzles to do. If you want a great house, great folks to work with , and an overall great time. Book this rental you won't regret it.

Thank you Jeff and Jackie for sharing your home with my family.
