Privately located in a gated resort community, but close enough to enjoy the activities in town, our 2 story, stand alone villa offers large living area with flat screen TV and DVD player, 2 bedroom suites with private bathrooms, eat in kitchen equipped with microwave, stove, refrigerator, toaster and coffee maker. There is a balcony off the upstairs bedroom and a covered patio for sunset viewing off the living area. There is also a large uncovered patio for outdoor dining. The villa is air conditioned and there is free WiFi.
Extra bed for a 5th person, or a crib can be rented directly from the hotel.
Local attractions include hiking trails, swimming, snorkeling, surfing, surfing lessons, kayaking, fishing, yoga, zip line canopy tours, horseback riding, turtle watching, and spas. These can be arranged through the hotel. There are a variety of restaurants and shops in town or a trip to the market in Masaya can be booked through the hotel.
The resort clubhouse has a restaurant and bar surrounding a large pool overlooking green pastures and the Pacific Ocean. There is a free shuttle service to take you to town during the day and early evening.
Shuttle service to Managua airport, Granada or the Costa Rican border is also available.
We love Palermo for the privacy and security it offers. It is close enough to town for shopping or dining as well as being close to magnificent beaches. We like to go to a different one each night and watch the sunsets.
If you have a car, it's a great home base for day trips.
Very comfortable home with beautiful views. Owners were great in communicating directly with us and checking in. Attentive staff were available at any time. Additional electricity cost were not bad if use is thoughtful and conservative and you can still have a comfortable temperature. Having screens on the slider doors would have made this easier since there were cool breezes in the am and evening, but did not want the bugs to come inside. One draw back to this particular unit is the parking. Since it is tucked back into the row of villas, there is not a parking spot accessible from the unit. This makes unloading/loading luggage a little challenging but suppose the view makes up for that. Bonus - when leaving our row of villas one morning, we encountered about 7 Howler monkeys, including babies, in the adjoining property. Beautiful! Would definitely go back!
Villas de Palermo is located outside of the town of San Juan del Sur.
It is close to numerous beaches and surfing spots that can be reached by car, taxi or driver. The colonial town of Granada is an easy day trip. Hike Mombacho or tour the Isletas.
