Ready to take a VACATION? Ground level apartment with plenty of southern exposure, on the canal. You can laze away your days on the screen porch, or get your daily dose of sunshine on the patio in either the Adirondack chairs or the hammock, and remember to slow down and enjoy LIFE again.
Pecky cypress walls and tile floors keep the home cool and comfortable, or step onto the screen porch for those salt laden breezes wafting over the salt marshes. OR, step out to the patio and enjoy the full sense laden sights, smells and sounds of being on the water, with eagles, ospreys, cormorants soaring diving, wafting above you. We include a canoe so you can really enjoy the Cedar Key life, put in at the property and paddle to Osprey Cove and watch redfish jumping, white pelicans floating along, or ospreys diving for breakfast and dinner. At the end of the day, retire to the porch and watch the sunsets as the house has a straight west view down the canal.
More open water is at the other end of the canal, you can paddle into Goose Cove, and see the glorious views of Atsena Otie, Seahorse Key, or if you are feeling adventurous, paddle to North Key for one of the best beaches in ALL of Florida.
We are one mile to some of the finest restaurants in Florida, from the Island Hotel, Island Room at Cedar Cove, both EXCELLENT dinner choices, less than one mile to Annie's Cafe and Kona Joes, breakfast or lunch choices, or just a short jaunt further, the restaurants along Dock Street, including Steamers, Away from the World Cafe, Brian's Big Deck and Raw Bar and the Seabreeze. Three smaller restaurants are downtown, 1842 Mercantile and Holey Moley, both doing excellent sandwiches, pastries, coffee and desserts. Tony's Seafood, is also downtown, you can eat here, have it shipped home, or find out which stores near you carry their WORLD FAMOUS clam chowder. The Blue Desert Cafe is renown for pasta dishes and pizzas, and it is only 1.2 miles from the house.
The house is fully equipped for cooking in, and you can purchase FRESH seafood from Southern Cross, located at #3 bridge, 1.5 miles, or at Robinson's Seafood, 9 miles from the house. Want to catch your own? We provide crab traps for you.
We are centrally located to ALL Cedar Key has to offer, yet just far enough off the beaten track to enjoy your privacy.
The house is a virtual refuge with big screen TV, wireless internet, and we do have Roku and NetFlix and for your listening pleasure, Pandora.
Equipped with sofas and futons, we can accommodate up to four people, with parking for two cars.
This house is ideally located on the canal, offers GREAT sunset views and fantastic water access. It has end of the street privacy, in a quiet neighborhood and you have to LOVE those pecky cypress walls.
Being right on the canal, you can be fishing before you get fully untied from the dock, and those sunsets can not be beat.
Dreamscape was wonderful in every way. Our third visit to Cedar Key and decided this time to stay for longer than a day trip!! We could not have found better accommodation, we will certainly be returning. Thank you Joe and Jennie
We really enjoyed our two nights at Dreamscape! We were looking for something private as this was our first family trip with our new baby who is 5.5 months old. We didn't want to worry about disturbing anyone if he was crying. The owner lives upstairs, but you don't have to worry about being bothered by him. We heard him walking around a bit, but he wasn't loud and I never saw him. The place is clean. There is a golf cart there for you to use which we definitely made use of. There is also a canoe, which my husband took out for a couple hours (no luck fishing... bummer). There are also bicycles there to use, but we didn't use them since we had our baby with us. The bed is OK. The décor is funky, but that's not what we were there for. The back patio was nice to relax on. There is a fire pit with wood for you to use. I noticed a Green Egg which I think is also for you to use. A little tiki bar out back. A lot of extra amenities! You really can't beat the price! I gave it 4 stars because of the bed and the funky mismatched décor, everything else was great!
We enjoyed our time in this apartment in early February, visiting the charming town using the golf cart to shop and eat in great little restaurants.
Wonderful place to unwind and relax, clean, private, all amenities already noted. Cedar Key is quaint Old Florida with friendly locals and laid back atmosphere close to natural and historical adventures, including FL springs for day trips. I watched the WILD dolphin "show" at local restaurant every evening & golf carted home to the best place to stay in Cedar Key. The airplane ride was also a high point! There was no dog smell or any other complaint here,,just fun hospitable down to earth people sharing their beautiful home.
No light pollution...golf car at the ready as well as bikes or canoe...very accommodating host...wonderful away time
We come to Cedar Key every year- and this was by far the best place we have stayed! I can not believe the amenities that came with this house and the price was amazing! We had so much fun cruising around on the golf cart, paddling on the canoe, using crab pots and fishing off the dock right at the patio! We will definitely stay here again!!
This home includes the use of bicycles, a rowboat and a golf cart, you can see the entire island like a local! You are only 1 mile, or a short golf cart ride to all the activities of a small town life.
