As its name says, 'Sunset' is located ocean front on the western side of the very private estate of the Inchcape Seaside Villas. It is the ideal vantage point from which to enjoy the ever-changing tableau of a colorful Caribbean sunset. The 2 bedroom/2bathroom apartment has a large covered terrace, complete with a hammock, which overlooks a magnificent vista of white sand beach and foam capped waves. It is charmingly decorated and its two bedrooms, each with bathroom en suite, large living room and spacious kitchen, provide a comfortable vacation home.
House Sunset can be considered to be a very efficient mix of being situated in a wonderful location, ocean front, spacious, perfectly equipped, simply said a home away from home in sunny Barbados, in a truly spectacular setting.
From Sunset’s terrace one can enjoy most probably one of the best outlooks anywhere along Barbados’ shores. Overlooking Silver Sands Beach to the East, one can see as far as to the outside reef of Long Beac

The Inchcape units truly are a wonderful experience.
Windsurfing: The spot to windsurf in Barbados is the area of Silver Sands, where the conditions are challenging yet forgiving and where circumstances are unbelievably convenient - and Inchcape is located right on the edge of Silver Sands beach.
You only rig up once and store your equipment just a few steps from the water. Shower, shade, relaxation area, everything combined right at your house, right on the spot, which is so unique. We have made it possible for you to enjoy this luxury windsurfing experience at our gorgeous vacation home, Inchcape in Silver Sands, on the Caribbean island of Barbados.
Sounds to good to be true?!? May be it does, but this dream will come true for you when you decide to come and stay with the people who discovered Silver Sands as a world class wave windsurfing spot. In 1978 Rosi and Wolfgang, your hosts at Inchcape, were the first people to ever sail at Silver Sands' reef formations.
Kitesurfing: Jim Drake, one of the inventors of windsurfing in the '70s, had already experimented with a wing, shaped like a hangglider, in the early stages of windsurfing... Time has gone by and the wing has become a kite which finally turned out to be an appropriate alternative for accelerating a surfboard using windpower.
Since kitesurfing really started taking off about two years ago, the still relatively small kitesurfing community learned quickly that special circumstances are needed to make kitesurfing a safe and enjoyable experience.
Barbados isn't only blessed with it's unique windsurfing conditions, it also proved to have some of the most ideal kitesurfing beaches possible. There are first of all the beaches around Inchcape, like Silver Sands and Silver Rock, which attract most of the kitesurfers. Brian Talma's Action Shop at Silver Rock is available for kitesufing lessons.
Surfing: When the world was created, Barbados was given an abundance of potential for becoming a surfer's paradise. The island's location far out in the Atlantic Ocean allows waves to travel thousands of kilometers on the bottom of the sea to finally unload all the power they developed during the long journey over Barbados' coral reefs.
As Barbados is a coral island, a coral reef stretches all around Barbados' coastline, providing for unlimited surfing conditions all over. No matter whether a swell approaches the island from a northerly or westerly direction or whether it's moving in from the East or the South, Barbados is guaranteed to have surf somewhere along it's shores at almost any given day of the year.
Also Inchcape is blessed with a surf break right in front of the property:
The shorebreak at Inchcape on the western end of Silver Sands beach is a pitchy shorebreak and can fit all sorts of descriptions, from mushy to super clean, it can be quite powerful or moderate and changes daily
We are the people who discovered Silver Sands for the sport of windsurfing. We were the first windsurfers in Silver Sands and made Silver Sands known as one of the best wave windsurfing spots in the world.
Wolfgang Lange purchased this apartment in 1992
The Inchcape Seaside Villas are situated in a unique location, right on the water at the western end of Silver Sands Beach. Inchcape, as it presents itself today, developed from a plantation style property from 1920 and combines now the charm of the old with all modern amenities. Due to our location and proximity to the water we enjoy the best climate Barbados has to offer.
The houses have constantly been renovated and upgraded and Inchcape is recognized today as a unique and one of the most luxurious properties of such a kind in Barbados. Our beach is a beautiful and almost private beach, and has it all, from calm waters like on a pond to a small shore break at one end of the beach, which makes it the perfect beach paradise which suits a broad range of holiday makers. Silver Sands Beach can be for everybody, from the sport enthusiast to the one who just wants to relax and enjoy the beautiful turquoises waters of this pristine white sand beach.
Our beach, the almost perfect climate due to the gentle breezes of the trades and our proximity to the water, our strategically location, just a few minutes away from the Oistins fish market and shops and restaurants, and still being in pure nature just minutes away from everything one wants to be close to.
My husband and I have stayed at Inchcape Sea Side Villas for many years now but always in Jan or Feb which is the high season in Barbados. Every review I have written has been better and better each time as it improves year after year. ( if that is possible). We have recently retired and had the fantastic opportunity to stay for five weeks in the low season, we wandered what the weather would be like ( although I would stay there what ever the weather wind rain or snow ) it was amazing we arrived just after a down pour and it remained cloudy until the next morning. For the next five weeks we had one night heavy rain ( which is very common in the high season) and only two cloudy days. We had a few days of high humidity but at Inscape there is always a lovely place to find a nice breeze. Although it never gets too busy in the high season it was lovely to experience it even quieter. Everything was at an even slower pace if that is possible all the restaurants were still all open with people having even more time and space for their customers. A very good time to go if you just want to explore Barbados and what it has to offer which is a lot.
Inchcape it self never disappoints it has so much to offer all age groups so much to do if you wish and so little if like us you are a bit lazy.
Kite and wind surfing facilities are right on your door step. The villas themselves are charming immaculate and all different adding to the establishments charm, it is like driving into a little oasis. The owner's and staff are amazing, happy charming and are always there all you have to do is ask and they will do anything for you they really do want you to have a good time. It is advisable to have a car to get out and about but we met a couple who were there for three weeks and they just used info from the internet to get around on public transport and probably saw more of the island than we did they really enjoyed doing it that way. There is alway's the almost resident taxi driver Rodney
who will take you any where you want on the island he is lovely.
We have stayed at Seaside,Sunset upstairs ( which is something else!) and our daughter at Seaside cottage all of which have a different charm.
Once again I would like to thank all the staff I miss them already.
Rosi and Wolfang really know what they are doing brilliant !
If you love sea sunsets and lovely people you must go !
Stayed August 2016, travelled as a couple
This truly was the trip of a life time! It was absolute paradise. It was the prettiest island, most gorgeous ocean and the kindest people on staff. No attitude there and they totally could have it because the resort is top shelf and extremely special. We were supposed to stay a week and extended it to 10 days because we didn't want to go home. It is immaculate, low key and very relaxing. The Inchcape Seaside Villas are very unique and beautiful, surrounded by pure nature, a white sand beach, tropical gardens. We loved snorkeling with turtles. This vacation, Barbados and above all the Inchcape Seaside Villas made my dreams come true. Can't wait to go back.
My wife and I recently returned from our Barbados trip, where we stayed at Inchcape. It's a beautiful property and unique with amazing views, well designed rooms and a very accommodating staff. We have both traveled extensively and can honestly say this was one of the most enjoyable experiences we've ever had at a hotel or resort.
You will have difficulty finding another location like this one anywhere in the world.
The resort itself is beautiful, and designed to be self contained with an emphasis on ecology and preserving the environment. Every architectural detail in the rooms and across the property is very well done.
Every single staff member was friendly, knowledgeable and polite, from the airport pick up service driver, all maids to the manager.
The view from any apartment we saw, is relaxing, unique and beautiful... looking out past the waters of the Atlantic side of the Caribbean to the reef that surrounds the island in the distance. We even saw turtles surfing the shorebreak right in front of our house.
The food all over the island is very good too. Also be sure to sign up for daily excursions. Everyday we either snorkeled, toured the island by car or boat, sailed, paddle boarded or did some type of watersports activity.
We came for two weeks and stayed in two of the apartments, Seaview and Sunset. Other travellers seem to suggest Tower, but we cannot comment!
The best thing about Inchcape is its location to the Kitesurfing Capital of Barbados, Silversands. If you're not a surfer, it's isolated and you need a car to find bars, restaurants and other beaches.
Sunset (Downstairs). A much larger 2-bed apartment with the gardens and sea beyond. This has a kitchen, lounge/dining area and a master and triple suite, both with ensuite bathrooms, plus a very large verandah with great views.
Overall view on location is this: if you want a get away from it all place with great views, or you are a keen surfer, kitesurfer, wind surfer, this place is most definitely for you.
If not, get a car and it's minutes to beaches you can safely swim at like Miami (Enterprise) Beach or Carlisle Bay; or places to eat like Oistins Fish Fry (try Uncle George's!), Surfers Bay beach bar, Kermit's Bar (very local), St Lawrence Gap, Worthing, Accra, Hastings and Rockley.
The nearest walk to eatery/bar is Surfers Bay, but it only really opens at 5pm. The food is great and Sunday Night is their big night.
There is loads to do and see on the south of the island. Crane beach is 30 mins by car, lovely lovely beach - plenty of other trip advisor ideas too if you search.
We loved Inchcape. Wolfgang found us a hire car and managed our planned change of rooms very efficiently for us. The maids are friendly and cheerful. The rooms are kept clean, and fresh towels and linen every three days is fine. Salt air and occasional showers mean windows sometimes must be closed, but we didn't need the AC in the room, the gentle breeze was very comfortable in 29 degree heat.
And no bugs at this time of year!! Marvellous!!
Definitely worth serious consideration if you're after peace and tranquility, are prepared to use the reggae buses or get a car, for a more local vibe than the West Coast offering. We loved it and will be back.

Have had the pleasure of staying at inscape for the past six years the whole complex is wonderful ! We normally stay at seaside which is beautiful you feel as if you are living on the beach. This year we were lucky enough to stay in sunset upstairs words cannot describe haw beautiful it was I had to keep pinching myself
to make sure it was real I thought I had died and gone to heaven what more can I say !
Our stay there in sunset villa was perfect. loved the Barbadians nothing was too much trouble. Rodney our taxi driver took us on a tour of the island so very relaxing. Sonia our maid kept the villa spotless, Larry our security man told us lots of stories of his life in Barbados & Natalie was there for anything we wanted. We would stay at Inchcape again but we would hire a car next time now we know the Island ~ look forward to our next visit Joan & Chris Powles
The villas and apartments are located on the very private ocean front estate of the “Inchcape Seaside Villas”, which is clustered on the southern most tip of Barbados. The houses are facing into the gentle breezes of the trades, which provide for the most perfect climate Barbados has to offer, never too warm or too cold. Inchcape also overlooks one of the island's most beautiful and unspoiled white sand beaches and is surrounded by brilliant clear, turquoise blue water. The beach is heaven for swimming and snorkeling, windsurfing and kitesurfing, surfing and boogie boarding. One side of Silver Sands Beach can have a little shore beak while the other side is much calmer and ideal for swimming and sea bathing. Life in this part of the island is casual and unhurried in the true Barbadian tradition. The small fishing village of Oistins is just a few minutes away and there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets from in walking distance to just minutes away by car.
Other Activities: kitesurfing, boogie boarding, bodysurfing, and much more.
Golf: The Inchcape management gladly arranges tee times and lessons. The Barbados Golf Club, Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland have excellent pro shops. The combination of golf, sun and the Caribbean Sea, a comfortable place To stay at Inchcape and enjoying the privilege of being able to play a round of Golf at Royal Westmoreland, aren't those reasons enough to try Barbados for a golf vacation?
Barbados has excellent 18-hole championship golf courses. Sandy Lane with two Tom Fazio designed courses will rank amongst the finest golf resorts in the world. The elegance and beauty of the course of Royal Westmoreland golf course, one of the best of Robert Trent Jones jr.'s designs, is outstanding and if there is one course to play in Barbados, it's definitely the one of Royal Westmoreland. The Barbados Golf and Country Club at Durants near Oistins and Silver Sands along with the 18-hole signature course at Apes Hill round up the picture of Barbados as a world class quality golf destination and makes the island a serious contender for being the No.1 Golf destination in the Caribbean.
