Space 900 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

2 Bed 1 Bath Cabin On 4 Wooded Acres In The Forest With Horse Corral And Deck!

You'll never want to go back to the city! This cabin is nestled on 4 acres in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest on the Mogollon Rim. The temperature here in the pines is usually an average of 30 degrees cooler than in the Valley. The pace is slower up here, get some peace and quiet watching the hummingbird show on the expansive deck in the hammock or swing.

There are 2 cabins on the property that sit side by see our other ad for "The Green Cabin." We offer discounts on renting both so it's perfect if you have a large group coming in with family and friends. There is also a horse corral on the property with feed and water buckets for your use along with thousands of acres of public forest land to ride on. Plenty of room for pets to roam and well behaved dogs are welcome.

A day at the cabin in Heber:

We always start off by waking up early and heading out for a walk with a hot mug of coffee. Tread quietly and you might get a glimpse of some deer lingering on the property. A vacation tradition: big breakfast! Cook in the fully stocked kitchen or head over to June's; sign in and then wait outside to be called in.

Grab a fishing pole and head over to Black Canyon Lake. Great antique shops in restaurants that serve up drinks, and don't forget to stop at the lavender store.

Have a drink while you're grilling lunch or dinner and relax in the comfy patio chairs. Take a leisurely walk through the property or ride a horse or ATV across thousands of acres of public land accessible right around the corner from the cabins.

When the day is done, roast some marshmallows on the deck and enjoy the cool fresh evening air. When you're ready to come in, curl up on the well worn leather sectional to watch a family movie then retire to a cozy bed with freshly washed linens. You'll be surrounded by beautifully stained pine walls adorned with art from local shops and softly lit lamps. Total comfort and relaxation!

About Property Manager/Owner

Traveling consultant and recreational real estate rehab addict! I love to travel and I love real estate, so naturally I've had a lot of fun with my family rehabbing these cabins and making them cozy for other travelers. I love all things outdoors, and have really enjoyed getting this property ready for other people who love to vacation and get back to nature.

Property Manager/Owner purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Property Manager/Owner chose Arizona

This property was really reminiscent of one of my favorite places to vacation in Northern Michigan, so it reminded me of home. The first time we looked at this property, some deer crossed in front of us as we were pulling into the driveway almost as if on cue. We fell in love right away with the trees and peaceful secluded feeling.

What makes this cabin unique

The great thing is that it feels secluded but is close to town so still has easy access to thousands of acres of public land but also grocery stores and restaurants and just enough shopping to keep it a small town. Also, with 4 acres and two cabins it's really perfect for group or family gatherings. We also accommodate pets including horses! :o)

One of the biggest draws to this area is riding horses or ATVs in the national forest. You can rent ATVs in town, and there is a corral right on the property if you bring horses. We also have feeding and water tubs. Plan on grocery shopping so you can try the grill....the deck is our favorite room in the house!

Awesome secluded cabin with everything you need.

  • 5 of 5

Awesome cabin everything we needed was there. Me and my boyfriend stayed here with our two friends for the weekend everyone loved the place we all agreed that this was the place to go if we came up again. The owners went out of their way for us we wanted to rent a pay per view UFC event and they had no problems placing the order for us .Would definetly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to visit the rim.

We stayed in both cabins and the stay was amazing. We got lost on the way there and Claire answered her phone quickly and was so nice in explaining the directions. The cabins were equipped with everything you could need. I will definitely stay here again!

Great weekend away!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time on our weekend in Heber! The cabin was adorable and just the perfect size! We enjoyed cooking meals on the grill and watching the icicles drip from the roof, as well as snuggling by the wood stove and watching a movie! Our dog Tucker enjoyed exploring the area around the cabin, and he even had a sweater to match the Elk decor! Thanks so much for letting us stay! Can't wait to visit again soon!

Great Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is a great cabin in Heber for a family getaway. They provided everything you needed from dishes/pots, to firewood and entertainment,it has it all. The cabin is a little difficult to find if using MapQuest but Claire was so patient and stayed on the phone until we found it.The patio is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. We will definitely be booking this cabin again. Thanks Claire!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Elk Lodge-The setting was beautiful and very relaxing. The views are gorgeous and we were fortunate to get 3 inches of snow in the morning. We will definitely return to this cozy little cabin.
