About Laila Ryun
We have been married for 15 years and live on the property with our 2 youngest children. Our family enjoys the wonderful beaches and the community we have here at Sunset Beach. We bought the property in 2003 and by 2004 we completely built a new home which we currently live in. Recently we completed the addition of the separate studio above our garage.
Laila Ryun purchased this Studio in 2003
Why Laila Ryun chose Haleiwa
We purchased this property because of its location. We enjoy the privacy of our cul-de-sac and that there is not a lot traffic coming into our street. Surfing and beach going are literally minutes walking distance from our house. Being located at Sunset Beach the property is 'central' for the North Shore between Haleiwa and Kahuku.
What makes this Studio unique
Parking is a problem on the outer lying streets and Kamehameha highway is busy and can sometimes get noisy. We provide parking in the driveway directly in front of the entrance gate to the studio and are tucked far enough into the cul-de-sac that there is minimal noise from the highway (except for the emergency vehicles when they go by).
100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
All the great reviews about this property aren't exaggerating. The apartment is a 10 minute walk to the beach, very cute, and our hosts gave us complete privacy.
Nice place but termites
On our trip we found termites in the bed, along the floor, in the shower, on the stairs, and everywhere between. Laila came and changed our sheets, but a couple minutes later and they were on the bed again so we stayed somewhere else. We didn’t receive our money back for the nights we chose to stay somewhere else.
They stayed for a week and had no issues until the last night in which Nathan left my door open with lights on for hours. He allowed termites to come into the home. We have NEVER had an issue with any bugs or termites. My home is regularly treated for pestsThey had no problems with bugs during their whole stay except for their last night which they left the doors wide open and let the termites in.
Nathan was one of the youngest guests I've ever hosted and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND him as a guest. They did not follow any of our rules even after talking to him about the issues.
Bright and airy
The studio is bright and airy, very nice finishes, newly redone. It’s in a quiet side of the island, close to many world renowned surf beaches, and Ted’s Bakery is a short walk away. We had relaxing mornings, drove over to Laie for coffee in the mornings. The address is listed as Haleiwa, but it’s a 15-20 minute drive out. Turtle Bay is close, with a bar and nightclub to have fun, but otherwise it’s a drive to get to Haleiwa, Kaneohe or Honolulu. Had a fantastic stay!
North shore vacation
My wife and I spent 3 nights at this rental. We were thoroughly impressed. This studio was in a perfect location, very clean and with nice amenities and everything we needed. Just a few minutes walk from Sunset beach and Ted's bakers. We went to Ted's every day for multiple delicious breakfast and desert options. This rental was very clean, and we felt very safe here. In a nice quaint neighborhood. Had no issues at all. Enjoyed all the north shore sites including Waimea valley, Waimea Bay, Shark's Cove, Turtle's beach, Haleiwa town. Would definitely come back if we were to visit north shore Oahu again!
A lovely studio in an excellent position.
Nice studio and a great location.
We enjoyed our two nights on the north shore. The upstairs studio is above the garage. Lots of windows to bring in the breezes; we didn’t even need to use the a/c. Walk about 2 blocks to a quiet, uncrowded beach or drive a short distance to the world class pipeline. Ted’s Bakery is around the corner, open for breakfast, plate lunch, dinner and yummy desserts. Foodland Supermarket is also close with delicious poke and everything you need for the beach.
This studio is located across Sunset Point just a few minutes walk to beautiful beaches. The property is in a small cul-de-sac away from the highway traffic and has its own private entrance and driveway parking.
The Famous Ted's Bakery is right around the corner and has THE BEST pies and pastries cooked fresh daily...and don't forget to try their 'local style' plate lunches served all day, every day.
A bike path runs adjacent to Kamehameha Hwy and provides and excellent way to see see the North Shore from V-land to Waimea Bay. Also a great way to avoid parking and traffic during winter months and the contest season.
Turtle Bay resort is 10 minutes away and offers many activities including golfing, horseback riding, surfing and a selection of restaurants.
Historic Haleiwa Town is 15 minutes away and provides a large selection of shopping and dining.
Honolulu International Airport and Waikiki are approximately 1 hour away.
