Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cabin in Penn Yan - Secluded Bliss Lodge

Central to all the Finger Lakes has to offer

A perfect lakeside retreat in the heart of the Finger Lakes. It’s uniquely located on the Seneca Lake wine trail halfway between Geneva and Watkins Glen, less than 10 miles from Keuka Lake. Whether you’re visiting the area to get out and enjoy its scenic beauty or relaxing by the tranquil water, this hidden gem affords you access to it all.

Begin your escape as you drive along the gravel path that leads to a beautiful log home tucked beneath a canopy of trees with Seneca Lake peeking through. There is ample parking with room for yard games along the west side of the home, and the main entrance lies to the south. The smell of cedar will greet you as you walk into the open floor plan of Secluded Bliss Lodge.

The kitchen spans one end of the home, providing ample counter space alongside new appliances for the family chef. Both the dining and living spaces flow directly off the kitchen and offer comfortable seating, views of the surrounding woods, antique adornments and an ornamental wood stove to enhance the lodge’s rustic charm. Double doors off the living area open to a fully furnished, screened in front porch; a tranquil space with a peaceful view to enjoy your morning coffee.

For your convenience there is a full bathroom with shower and tub on the main floor, as well as a first floor bedroom complete with a queen bed. Go up the set of stairs off the living room and you’ll find a vaulted loft with additional sleeping space. There is a bedroom at each end of the upper level, one with a queen bed and half bath, the other with a queen bed and futon. Handmade quilts and comfy pillows on all the beds guarantee you will sleep “like a log”.

Have fun in the lower level rec room housing air hockey and Ping-Pong tables, puzzles, games and a small tv. From here, open the door to an outdoor space complete with a grill, fire pit and steps that lead to 20’ of lakefront, a dock and boat hoist. Don’t miss out on the subtle luxury that Secluded Bliss has to offer. Book today!

Why Sarah Mantell Marino chose Keuka Lake

Location, location, location. It's at the center of anything you need to make your stay ideal for you.

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabin is truly a magical place any time of year.

In the winter months cozy up with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee and your favorite book or movie. The view of the lake is incredible once the leaves have fallen and the smell of cedar nourishes the soul. Our neighborhood is quiet and the snow covered path to the cabin adds to its tranquility.

Feel alive in the spring as everything comes into bloom! Wine trail events begin to pick up and area hiking trails begin to thaw.

Summer is our peak season on Seneca Lake. Take a refreshing morning swim, enjoy the fire pit and stop for a pint at our local brewery.

Fall is alive with color. The trees lining our property are ablaze with shades of red and yellow. The sun is warm, the air is cool and the local cuisine is at its best.

We feel so fortunate to live at the center of such a beautiful place.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The cabin was great! We loved our stay and wish we could stay longer. Everything was gorgeous and extremely clean. We were so comfortable and relaxed. Cozy fire pit with lake views was a perfect way to relax after a long day of wine tasting. Looking forward to making this an annual trip!

Very secluded

We loved the location of the cabin. It was nice to see the lake and be surrounded by trees. Very convenient to all the attractions. We would choose Secluded Bliss over a hotel anytime. We look forward to returning next year.

Amazing comfortable place to stay, centrally located!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to the fingerlakes, so we did not know what to expect with most things. My boyfriend and I went with 2 other couples. We are all mid-late twenties. The cabin was perfect for the fall weather, the beds were comfortable, you can not see any neighbors (most of them are down the steps, right along the edge of the water). It is definitely secluded, but centrally located. It is on the same lane as climbing bines brewery. Sarah is great to work with! She answers all questions in good time and she left us cookies and a bottle of wine. My group was very impressed with how easy she was to work with and how we had everything set up, without any struggle, upon arrival. The key code to the door was sent 2 weeks ahead of time. There is a binder on the coffee with any and all questions regarding what is expected of you before you leave. There are some dishes, pans, and utensils provided. Towels and washcloths were available. Everything you needed, but forgot at home, was there! It was amazing :) I would recommend Secluded Bliss to everyone!

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

We were on a 2 week road trip and stayed here for 3 nights to recharge our batteries, it was perfect. Fantastic cabin with everything you needed in a wonderful setting and a few steps (about 100 really) down to the lake where you can see the most amazing sunrises over Seneca Lake. The cabin was spotless and very well maintained. We sampled the craft ales at Climbing Bines at the end of the road which we can highly recommend. Watkins Glen is a short drive away and would definitely recommend going to the State Park and walking the Gorge Trail, it was beautiful. We could not get any TV or Wifi signal at the cabin but this did not bother us as we were there to unwind and relax. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Absolutely amazing!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin and property were excellent! The cabin was pristine and very lovely decorated. Everything we could possibly need was stocked in the cabin. I came with 5 other women and we loved how the 2nd floor was open, yet we were still able to have enough privacy. We arrived late night and were able to access the cabin without having to make special arrangements, which we were happy about. The owner was so nice, she called the morning after our arrival to make sure we got in ok and also left us a delicious treat! We loved using the firepit, sitting on the lake, and having breakfast together every morning in the screened in back porch which has lake views!

We would all definitely return again and think we just found a spot to start an annual tradition!

Relaxing stay at Secluded Bliss

  • 5 of 5

We greatly enjoyed our five-night stay at Secluded Bliss in mid-August! The cabin is situated in a lovely shaded forest on a bluff about 100 feet (100 steps) above Seneca Lake. The location on the west side of the lake is excellent, about half way between Watkins Glen and Geneva, but closest to Penn Yan. We did our grocery shopping at the TOPS Market in Penn Yan, maybe a 15 minutes away: the market is well stocked including fresh (some local) produce. You are surrounded by wineries and we really enjoyed Fox Run which is north of the cabin. If you are willing to drive to the east side of Seneca Lake, we were awed by the view, wine, and overall tasting experience at Lamoreaux Landing. We also enjoyed beer tasting at nearby Climbing Bines Hop Farm and Brewery. This is probably a good point to mention that the people we met in this area were some of the friendliest we have met anywhere (and we do a fair amount of traveling). The area offers a wide range of dining options: our favorite up-scale meal was at Port Cafe near Geneva (an amazing menu and all of our dishes were outstanding) and our favorite local/diner experience was at Silverbird Woodfired Pizza in Pen Yann (the menu includes many more options than the name suggests). We enjoyed hiking at two state parks in the area. Watkins Glenn SP is nearby and is spectacular with a river flowing through a series of water falls in a narrow canyon: note that this park is very popular and the trail was busy the day we were there. We also enjoyed Robert Treman SP which is a little less busy if you hike the loop. We did cook several nights at the cabin: the kitchen is reasonably well equipped and the outdoor gas grill is excellent. The fully-screened porch was our favorite space, with a cool breeze in the evenings and a table for playing games. There really weren't any bugs out while we were there, but it was great to be able to be out on the porch and not have to worry about getting bit. We did some paddling in the provided canoe one day which was quite fun! The owner Sarah was easy to work with and responded quickly to questions. A few words of advice: although linens and bath towels are provided, beach towels are not. Also wouldn't hurt to bring an extra dish cloth/towel with you as only one dish towel was provided. As the site warns, there is no WiFi so be prepared for that (our cell phone service was fine at the cabin). Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property to our friends.
