Upon checking in ;walked into an unclean apartment . We spent over two hours cleaning. The furniture had to be wiped down as well as the tables ,Cabinets; bathroom. Then ... the floors... literally filthy. We found a partially broken down swiffer mop that we used pretty well 2 packages of swifter pads to clean the floors. 12 in a box. The floors had not even been swept nor vacuumed. Bottle caps in the floors plus dust . Drink bottles under the beds. . Now come on folks; I emailed the owner my complaints the day we checked out but received no reply back. Also the apartment smelled like pot had been smoked in it. I gave the benefit of a doubt on the complaints from the other persons reviews; but they were correct except we didn’t find a snake; Thankfully . But the shower was a little tricky till we figured it out ; which didn’t take two long. No wash clothes; which I had read that so I bought some to take with us ; good thing because there were none. I left 2 there when we left. The washer didn’t work properly . I text him concerning this and he asked if We had tried the “Quick Wash Cycle “ now if he knew this you would have thought he would say that on his amenities that that cycle was the only one that would work the best ; but not every time; In the Bathroom while vacuuming, the paint on the end of the cabinet was flying off. The Bathroom wall behind the commode could use a replacement. We finally left a day early. Must I also say we had a Special Needs Child with us that is vulnerable to illness and We did not expect to have to go in ;after traveling 4 1/2 hrs getting there ; and clean the place . This Home Away Company needs to be checking out these complaints. If the owner is hiring someone to clean it he might look in to getting someone else to-clean geez!! The area rug in the living room had spilled areas from spills on it. .., we killed 2 roaches in the kitchen as well. Saw another one but it got away . So there you have it; you asked and I believe telling it like it was . Who wants to go on vacation and have to work cleaning before you could feel like you weren’t being exposed to someone unpleasant or that could have been harmful to our child??!!!. Thanks
Definitely not as good as the pictures
I tolerated the property (because I didn’t really have anywhere else to stay), but I am extremely laid-back and I feel like the majority of people will not be impressed with reality versus the pictures. The property is actually an apartment in a run down complex. I picked this property over another because of the pool but it was green and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time so I did not partake in that. The walls are extremely thin and I could hear everything coming from all the neighbors. I saw 2 cockroaches in the apartment during my visit, but I wasn’t there much so I just tried not to think about it. Also, good luck getting the shower to work. I think I scalded off half the skin on my body with that thing.
It wouldn’t be a bad property if it was about $30 a night but I do not recommend this property if you are at all interested in cleanliness and a good neighborhood.
Everything was good except the shower was a little hard to turn on and there were no wash rags. Other than that it was all great!
Dallas get away
Really enjoyed our stay, will definitely do this again, much better than a hotel. Plenty of room, loved having a washer and dryer for the kids laundry. Thank you!
A little bit disappointed.
I have to agree with a recent review that they definitely know how to take pictures. This place is in an over crowded complex that at one time may have been considered a condo but currently looks like it has become low income apartments. The place is quite run down and the cleanliness was sub-par especially of a few things. The table and kitchen counters had a sticky film covering them. The Keurig style coffee maker was absolutely disgusting! It had mold growing all over the inside water container. So every morning I had to go out for coffee across the street at the gas station. The toilet handle was broken and at first didn't think it was actually going to flush. The chain came off twice during our stay and we had to reattach it. The ceiling fans were covered in dust so we didn't turn them on. On our second day there my mom saw a small snake by the fireplace. It turned out to be stuck to the sticky side of a cable track for the TV that had fallen off the wall. Thankfully I was able to pull the little guy off and release it outside. When we arrived the very small pool was shut down and looked a mess. Across from the pool the upper apartment's deck was completely rotting and looked like it could come down at any moment. We didn't hear much from the upstairs apartment except for a little bit one night but it didn't last long. The place had a mildewy smell and the smell of marijuana came from the upstairs apartment. We also found a marijuana stem on the table when we checked in. Since we didn't stay at the apartment very much during our stay we didn't let these issues bother us. I've lived under worse conditions but we definitely will not be staying there again when we go back to Dallas.
The place needs a plumber
I liked the property overall. The location was convenient for my needs. It was affordably priced. Check-in was very easy.
The shower was scalding-hot and I had difficulty getting a lower temperature. So, I washed myself outside the shower with a cloth. The toilet needed a new flapper valve. So, to get the tank to refill, I left the lid off and pressed down on the flapper with my finger every time I flushed.
The living space was nice. I enjoyed relaxing on the couch. The bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen is well arranged.
