Wonderful spot

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief time at Laura's comfortable and well-appointed lake house. Laura was also extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and generous with thoughtful information about local activities and answering additional questions. Many thanks!

Beautiful House

  • 5 of 5

The house on Spider Lake was better than expected and we thoroughly enjoyed staying there. The house is solid with adequately spacious bedrooms and a beautiful view from the living room and decks. The kitchen was stocked much better than other rentals we've stayed in, including basic detergents for dish washing (and laundry), and plastic wraps / foil for leftovers. We would love to return in the summer so that we could enjoy the lake! Would definitely recommend renting this house.

Peaceful and relaxing - even with kids!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in August. The cottage was very clean, had newer bedding (a biggie for me) and was well-stocked for cooking our meals at home. I totally appreciated all the beach towels provided. The views were beautiful! We loved hearing the loons every morning and seeing the sunrise over the lake. The kids loved swimming off the dock, fishing and playing in the sand near the shoreline. I was pleasantly surprised how quiet the lake and surrounding houses were. Loved being so close to TC, yet away from the crowds. Just FYI on layout, 2 of the bedrooms are upstairs and there's no bathroom up there for any nighttime needs. A consideration with smaller kids. The owner, Laura, was very accommodating and responsive. We would definitely rent again!

Very good

  • 4 of 5

It was a beautiful lake vacation. The eight of us really enjoyed our time there. It was a comfortable week weather wise upstairs very hot and at times uncomfortable for sleeping, otherwise everything else perfect! Would give it 5 stars if it had central air. Thanks so much Laura for allowing us to vacation in your home. Kenny Franks

Great boat house on Spider Lake. Perfect for a family gathering!

  • 5 of 5

We had a bit of a family reunion at this home, with 4 adults and 5 children staying there, plus 2 grandparents visiting during the day and returning to Traverse City at night. It was very comfortable for our needs and we enjoyed having a dock. We rented a boat from Sail and Power Boat Rental (also a good company to work with), and powered all over the lake. The kids swam every day off the dock and the adults enjoyed relaxing on the various terraces from the house down to the water.

There are 2 bedrooms suitable for couples, and a 3rd bedroom that is a bunk room upstairs, with 6 beds for kids (or small adults?). Our five really enjoyed having that room to themselves, and played video games on their personal PS4 attached to the TV. Our only problem with the upstairs was that it got really hot (We were there on July 4th) during the day, but honestly you should be on the lake or off enjoying some of the area's wonders during the day, and there is AC in the downstairs if you can't take the heat.

The owner was easy to work with and everything went smoothly with her. We were missing something and she sent over her local housecleaner, who was also very friendly and helpful.

All in all, great rental, highly recommend it!
