Great home

Perfect home for hosting a family or group get together. Walking distance to the restaurants and water holes in a Cooke City. Nice amenities like the hot tub and fire pit. The homeowner was very prompt to reply to any of our needs.

Fabulous, beautiful, lovely

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful, warm and cozy retreat. I have been coming to this neck of the woods all my life but never have I stayed in such a lovely place. Our family made so many wonderful memories. We were able to visit the YNP and the Sunlight Basin but have a cozy house to return to each evening. It being Labor Day we hoped for the last beautiful weather of the season but what we got was even better. The first day was truly sunny and beautiful but after that the weather started to turn which was wonderful. We got to watch the area descend into fall with leaves changing and snow creeping down the mountain. We still went out adventuring everyday because we knew we had a warm fireplace, warm hot tub under the sky, cozy beds, and well appointed kitchen to come back to every evening. The view out the porch and dining windows is stunning especially the bison wandering through Sunday morning which captivated our children. We will definitely be back soon!

Great property especially if you are going to cook.

  • 4 of 5

This is a great property just 4 miles from the northeast entrance of Yellowstone park. Great location, great views from the patio/deck. The kitchen is very well equipped and if you are going to cook, this property will work out really well. You'll need to buy all your groceries from Bozeman or whatever major town you land in. This property is located in Cooke City where you'll find a couple of general stores that carry basic stuff like milk, eggs and bread, but the selection is very limited. There's also no cellular signal in this area but the property has wifi and there's also a land line you can use to make outgoing calls.

The property was clean when we arrived although it could definitely use a more thorough cleaning. The outdoor cushions were very dusty, for example. The master bedroom is great. Very comfortable. As somebody else noted, the mattresses in other rooms could be of better quality.

The property has a really nice hot tub and foosball table on the lower level. Kids loved both these things.

Beautiful town, but there are better cabins.

  • 2 of 5

Let me start by saying Cooke City is a really neat small town. It is very close to the Lamar Valley entrance to Yellowstone and the Beartooth Pass Highway. This rental though leaves a lot to be desired. The home is extremely cluttered with the owner's belongings and nicknacks. It was somewhat dusty when we checked in. This house has three levels in it but only one TV which gets national stations which is not on the main floor. The main floor is only good for the kitchen, it has no sitting area except for a kitchen table. All of the bedrooms are either below or above the main floor which isn't too bad if the TV was on the main floor. The queen bed on the lowest floor is very uncomfortable; the mattress definitely needs to be replaced.

We only had one key for eight of us which became a hassle because you needed the key to lock the door--there was a lock box on the door but another key would have been nice.

I would recommend you look at other places before staying here. There are plenty of nicer cabins in nicer neighborhoods before renting this one, especially at this price.

The best cabin rental in Cooke City

  • 5 of 5

The location is ideal. The views are amazing. The cabin is luxurious and well set-up for a group of 8. I'll rent again next time I'm in Cooke City.

Our group of snowmobilers enjoyed all the amenities of home. It's comfortable and welcoming. In fact, we already booked it again for next years trip.
