For the most part, our experience went very well, but we felt that the facility was a little too big for our small group.

There also was a concern of loud scratching noises at night which is either squirrels or chipmunks. (we let the owner know about the noises)

We also love having fires and one of the ladies drove home to get more firewood because we ran out. (a little discouraged on follow thru for the fire wood.)

We've gone many places over the years and we know this is a new place, so another suggestion would be to have a few glass cooking/serving bowls that could be used for preparing meals. Also, because there was no screen door, we had many flies come in when we went outside & the door was open for air during the day. (possible screen door?) Just suggestions.

Everything else was wonderful. Beds were great and the facility was set up very well.

Thanks again for everything.

Megan

Picturesque and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We found the Country Cabin to be everything and even more than we had expected. Where do I start? The acreage was beautiful. The cabin was perfect - clean and comfortable and very welcoming. The barn was a great place to put the motorcycles at the end of the day. We spent each evening relaxing at the fire pit and grilling and enjoying the scenery in our own little private corner of the world. The evenings were so quiet that we slept with the windows open. During the day we drove the winding roads in this picturesque area, and this area is filled with gorgeous scenery and pleasant people. Our gracious host was most accommodating and friendly. This was such a great experience that for the first time ever, we have booked a second vacation at the same VRBO. Thank you so much for this memorable vacation!

Absolutely beautiful and well kept up!

  • 5 of 5

We were there for my sisters wedding, considering that we would be coming in at a lye hour, it was nice to know that we wouldn't be disturbing anyone. The property and owners are absolutely wonderful!! You have 36 acres of pure nature and privacy which is rare. I definitely recommend anyone to stay here. Well worth the money

Wonderful rental!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay! The cabin was larger than I expected. We were in town to see family in the area, and one night we hosted a total of 15 for dinner and had plenty of space. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds and ping pong. Very clean and spacious, and the owner was great to work with. Took the kids to Niagra Cave and the Vesterheim museum in Decorah. We have done several vacation rentals by owner, and this was one of the best. We hope to come back!

Great property in a beautiful location.

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here with the family and loved everything about this cabin. It is huge has all the amenities of home and the outdoor area is beautiful.

Having a private pond was a bonus although Mother Nature didn't cooperate.

Will be back!

Beautiful setting and house

  • 4 of 5

Very well cared for property. Large house with lots of room for a get together. Could use some written instructions on how to use the tv/sound system. Could not change radio stations. Only one table in living room area. No place to set drinks, etc. while watching movie/tv. We moved the benches to act as end tables. Worked well. As in many places we have gone, the big beds were too high for those of us with arthritis. Why do the beds need to be three feet off the ground? Lots of space for crafting if you bring tables. Overall, the beauty of the setting and the house are well worth the money and any trouble we had during our stay. We would stay there again.
