Modern, open and light filled home with incredible mountain views from virtually every room. 3 beds with 2.5 baths, including whirlpool off largest bedroom. Huge great room with massive stone, wood burning fireplace. There is a new hot tub off the large bedroom's private deck. The upstairs bedrooms have the very best views and share a full bath. There is also a loft area with seating upstairs and one of the bedrooms has a small sitting or reading room. The property sits on five extremely private acres. A newer home with gorgeous artwork and antiques.
Wine guy with a passion for nature and beauty. A plant and soil scientist with a love of the outdoors and travel. Into old trees and all kinds of flowers and animals.
Love a good bottle of wine and a great meal.

This is a uniquely beautiful place where one can have total privacy and incredible views of The Blue Ridge Mountains. Only 15 minutes from Shenandoah Nat'l Park, with its world class hiking, waterfalls and Skyline Drive, voted one of the 10 most beautiful in the USA. Also a place that will both appeal to and inspire writers and artists. Naturalists will love the mature trees and the variety of flora and fauna. Birders have great opportunities to see raptors and song birds up close. Hawks, herons and geese fly at eye level at times. Paragliders take off and glide to the north, while hot air balloons rise to the south. Monticello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is not only a short drive away, but also visible on clear days from the expansive deck. The house is quite comfortable, with beautiful furnishings throughout. The artwork extensive and high quality.
Amazing views and lots of nature all just 5 or so minutes from shopping and dining in Stanardsville. The inn is about a 30 minute drive from Monticello, UVA and downtown Charlottesville. Just 15-20 minutes from the Charlottesville airport and several wineries.
Close to the mountains and wine country. Great home!
The property is amazing. There were 6 of us and we loved it. We had plenty of room. Great social spaces, gorgeous view and location, in the top of the mountain in the middle of the forest! We had a wonderful fall weekend. The hut tub in the deck was the the cherry in the top of the pie! FANTASTIC PROPERTY WITH AN AMAZING VIEW!! We would love to come back.
We had a great stay (despite 5 days of rain and fog!). The house is spacious, with beautiful views from every weekend, and uniquely located, in lovely wooded surroundings. Great hikes in Shenandoah National Forest were only 15-20 minutes away and downtown Charlottesville was a 40-minute drive for access to great restaurants.
"Me and my whole family spent 3 beautilful nights in that gorgeous place during our stay in Charlottesville for the graduation of my daugther. In this house, all details, pictures, made us share the travelling history of the owner ; Everywere, the nature is present, inviting you to calm and sernity. All the bedrooms have their own specificity, and the one I loved the most is the one at the ground floor with such a view!!!!!!. It is quite a journey to get there, but once you arrive, you wonder how you could stay in town...
Many thanks for everything".

This is an absolutely beautiful home. If you are looking to “unplug” this is your place! Our party (traveling from the mid-west, east coast and Virginia) had 3 different cell plans and everyone had cell signal, so could monitor important messages. The upside is that there is no cable TV and no internet, so those distractions were not an issue. We talked, played board games, cooked and enjoyed the beyond lovely balcony. There was very little light pollution, so at night we could clearly see the Milky Way, constellations and planets.
There is a grocery store about 10 minutes drive from the house, so there is a source for supplies. If you plan to cook anything exotic, be sure to pack supplies. The kitchen is beautiful and fully equipped for simple meal preparation. The kitchen was stocked with condiments and spices, but no coffee. Bring your own (I forgot)!
In summary, it is a lovely property. The owner is available if you need him, but is unobtrusive. We had a great time!
