Modern, open and light filled home with incredible mountain views from virtually every room. 3 beds with 2.5 baths, including whirlpool off largest bedroom. Huge great room with massive stone, wood burning fireplace. There is a new hot tub off the large bedroom's private deck. The upstairs bedrooms have the very best views and share a full bath. There is also a loft area with seating upstairs and one of the bedrooms has a small sitting or reading room. The property sits on five extremely private acres. A newer home with gorgeous artwork and antiques.
Wine guy with a passion for nature and beauty. A plant and soil scientist with a love of the outdoors and travel. Into old trees and all kinds of flowers and animals.
Love a good bottle of wine and a great meal.

This is a uniquely beautiful place where one can have total privacy and incredible views of The Blue Ridge Mountains. Only 15 minutes from Shenandoah Nat'l Park, with its world class hiking, waterfalls and Skyline Drive, voted one of the 10 most beautiful in the USA. Also a place that will both appeal to and inspire writers and artists. Naturalists will love the mature trees and the variety of flora and fauna. Birders have great opportunities to see raptors and song birds up close. Hawks, herons and geese fly at eye level at times. Paragliders take off and glide to the north, while hot air balloons rise to the south. Monticello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is not only a short drive away, but also visible on clear days from the expansive deck. The house is quite comfortable, with beautiful furnishings throughout. The artwork extensive and high quality.
Amazing views and lots of nature all just 5 or so minutes from shopping and dining in Stanardsville. The inn is about a 30 minute drive from Monticello, UVA and downtown Charlottesville. Just 15-20 minutes from the Charlottesville airport and several wineries.
Beautiful house with all the comforts of home and then some. Perfect spot for our family of four to enjoy a long weekend away from it all (the only sounds at night were the cattle and a dog here and there in the distance and the bubbling of the hot tub on the huge deck). Easy 30 minutes drive to great hiking at Shenendoah National Park, to the Massanutten Resort (indoor waterpark), and Grand Caverns, and much more. Loved the fact that there wasn't a TV out in the house, and the views from all the rooms and the deck were amazing. Great host--made everything easy, gave great recommendations (Jack's Shop Kitchen is the best) and directions to the house (long very hilly driveway to the house--kids loved the adventure). Just what we were looking for.
We just finished our stay at this property and couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. It's perched at the top of a large hill/mountain, so the views of the surrounding mountains and hills are beautiful. We had six adults and a dog with us for the extended weekend, and had more than enough space for all of us! The common rooms are large and spacious, yet have a cozy vibe at the same time. We spent the weekend playing board games by the large fire that easily warms the whole living room, making meals together in the kitchen, and enjoying the wineries/cideries/hiking a short drive from the property. There was nothing more perfect than coming home in the evening to a large fire, whirlpool tub in the master bath, and a hot tub on the back deck to cap off our day. Everything is as the photos suggest, if not nicer, as the walls are covered in gorgeous artwork. Rob, the owner, was more than accommodating throughout our stay. If you haven't yet decided on a place, here is your decision: book here now! I'm already dreaming of a return trip!
I visited here for a long weekend with friends and we all agreed that it was an amazing stay. The fireplace was roaring the entire weekend and the views are unparalleled from any other mountain home I've encountered. The home was clean and the bedrooms were all comfortable. In fact, each room had a stunning view of the mountains. We were lucky to have great, sunny (though very cold!) weather during our stay. The kitchen is fully stocked and there is seating both inside and outside with views of the mountains.
A welcome and unexpected gem was the Early Mountain Vineyard. It had live music, its own fire, wonderful food, and ample room for us to spread out and enjoy ourselves. It is a 'must visit' during your stay and only a 15 minute drive. The hikes nearby are also amazing, and just a short drive in the other direction from the house.
One point of clarification: as an earlier post mentioned, there is no wifi or television. You will be able to get service on your phone, but there is otherwise no internet. Luckily for us, we were up to our ears in board games and sunsets.
I highly recommend staying in this peaceful retreat.
It was a beautiful spacious space perched higher than most surroundings offering spectacular views of the mountains and valleys in the region. Beautiful fireplace for quality family time. We thoroughly enjoyed spending the holidays here. Rob was super friendly and accommodated usfor a very special time.
The cabin is beautiful with an open floor plan and plenty of room for lounging and activities. The views are fantastic from both inside and outside the house.
The drive into Charlottesville as well as the multiple surrounding wineries was scenic and easy to navigate.
The owners were present to greet us upon our arrival, and made sure we had everything we could need. We will definitely be staying again!
