About Ben Tucker

My wife and I moved to this area 13 years ago for my job. We both grew up around Harrisonville, MO. Both of us are from small towns. We liked the small town atmosphere of Buckner and Sibley where we currently live just a few miles away. We bought this house as an investment and brought it out of the sixties, and completely remodeled the house doing most of the work ourselves. We loved the quiet older street it was located on with it's giant oak trees shading the yard.

Ben Tucker purchased this house in 2013

Why Ben Tucker chose Missouri

We bought this home as a rental but saw a potential for a vacation rental. Offering people coming to this area a more personal and home like atmosphere than a hotel can offer. Families staying with us will be able to stay together rather than splitting up into separate rooms. The full kitchen allows you to prepare your own home cooked meals rather than eating out every meal.

What makes this house unique

We think this house will make a great retreat for travalers in town for family, work, or just in town for a ball game at Kauffman or Chiefs Stadium only 30 min away. Or checking out Kansas City's Power & Light District only 35 min away. Only 35 min to Worlds of Fun & Ocean's of Fun. In the fall is a great time to visit Sibley Orchards for pumpkin picking or a hayride and bonfire only 2 miles up the road. Fort Osage is great if you like history. The Independence event center is about 16 miles if you like Hockey. The home of the Missouri Mavericks or check their schedule for concerts and shows.

House very comfortable and adjusted to our needs. Good neighborhood. The only thing we recommend is a better cleaning in the marquee.

Great Stay Close to KC!

  • 3 of 5

This house met our expectations for a family vacation. There were 6 adults and 2 kids in our party. We had plenty of room, and never felt cramped. The house has so much to offer. Even though we are a few years past our baby days - there was a Pack N Play and a Stroller there. This is so nice to have at the house, as those are large items to haul around on vacation. We definitely used the game room -- The darts need some maintenance though. We did find the pool cue chalk and replacement felt in the junk drawer in the kitchen. The tire swing got some use as well. We had planned on grilling a couple nights, but the first night we used the gas grill - only one burner worked, and then the gas ran out. And we couldn't find any charcoal to use for the other side of the grill. Kitchen was well stocked with the basic cooking supplies, condiments, ingredients, and appliances -- it was wonderful!! The freezer door was not shutting properly due to an extreme amount of frost/ice build-up -- so we did take some time to defrost that so we could get the door to stay shut. The in-door ice maker and water dispenser also didn't work. The bedroom dressers could use some cleaning, as there appeared to be a variety of dirt/rocks/etc in some of them. The wooden kitchen chairs need some maintenance, so some of the braces and legs were coming apart or were wobbly. We just used the folding chairs in the garage, or the patio chairs. The bathroom with walk in shower was an advantage to the older persons in the group. The kids enjoyed the toilet seat that could be switched to their size. We had a couple people that were tech savvy in the group, so we were able to use the TV's with no problem, but when Grandpa and Grandma were left alone with the devices they were stumped. May I suggest some instructions for non-tech savvy people. The location was terrific, easy and short drive to Power and Light District, Kansas City Zoo, Science City for Kids at Union Station, Fort Osage, and the 1885 town and elk feeding in Blue Springs. We did go to the Buckner playground, and was a bit disappointed, as much of the equipment needed maintenance and/or was flooded.

We really enjoyed staying at the park house. The television was a bit confusing but we finally figured it out 😊. The house was very well furnished and everything we needed was there. We look forward to staying there the next time we are in town. Thanx Ben!

Great value, comfortable accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

My family had a great experience here during our cross country trip. We stayed here for one night and found the house to be extremely comfortable. Our children loved the game room with pool table and foosball table. The backyard is a nice size and has a tire swing for children as well. Despite the heat and humidity, the air conditioning kept us cool. I would definitely recommend this house to a family that needs multiple rooms. Thank you Ben for your hospitality!
