Feels like home
Very clean cabin. Has a very down-home feeling. We will stay again for sure. Close to everything.
very clean and comfortable
snacks provided :)
Very accommodating--new gas tank brought to house for grill
Suggestions provided by owner for restaurants--enjoyed Copeland's and The View Grill
Would recommend to others!!
Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed The View Grill. I'm not sure if I mentioned Copeland's but I should have. It is also very good.
The cabin was everything I expected and more. The home is very clean and in a great location. Susan was easy to reach and she responded quickly. I plan to go back there again!
Pictures do not do cabin justice. Beautiful cabin. Plenty of room, comfortable beds, very homey feeling. Enjoyed our stay!
Very nice place
Everything was cozy but the sleeping accommodations were a lit weird with a king and queen bed in the same large room. Also the lock box door kept falling off when we used it. A minor inconvenience but worth noting to owners.
We had a nice bon fire and really loved the convenience to Lakeside Village where our family reunion was. Overall the property is well represented.
We would stay again.
Thank you for your review. I'm sorry you found the sleeping arrangements strange, however it is well described in the property description. We find many families love the arrangement, especially those with small children. Also the lock box is two separate pieces, it is not hinged. Glad you enjoyed your stay!
Great place to stay.
Easy to rent. Beautiful. Very spacious for 8 and 2 bathrooms.
Kitchen dining room nice and equiped. Comfortable rooms. Close or central to western side of N Georgia to access NCand Tenn.
Blairsville is a small town at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The views as you travel the area rival anywhere in the world. The area enjoys four distinct seasons so there is always something new and different regardless of the time of year.
It is a haven for outdoor enthusiast. Everything from hiking to mountain biking to fishing & boating to white-water rafting to horse back riding and more can be enjoyed here or within a short drive. Brasstown Bald, the highest point in the state of Georgia, is here in Union County. Vogel State Park is a beautiful place for a picnic and a walk around the lake. There are also several challenging trails inside the park. Throughout the year the park hosts many fun events such as their Mountain Music Festival and Christmas Tree Lighting. Be sure to check their calendar during your stay. Another great spot is just up the road. If you're up for a strenuous mountain hike the views are spectacular from Blood Mountain, a section of the Appalachian Trail.
For white-water rafting we are within a short drive of the Ocoee River, home of the 1996 Summer Olympics, with Class III-IV white water and the Nantahala River with Class II-III white water. Both provide an exciting and fun-filled adventure.
Nottely Lake just down the road can provide hours of water fun. Pontoon boats and jet skis can be rented locally or bring your own boat. There is plenty of room for parking on the property and several places to put in within a short drive. If fishing is what your after Chatuge Lake in Hiawassee is a better bet. Or nearby Toccoa River is known for it's fly-fishing. If you've been wanting to try your hand at it there are guides that would be glad to show you the right spots. If going it alone be sure to check the water release times as it is part of the TVA system and the water can become rapid quickly.
During the summer and fall months the local Farmer's Market is a special treat. There you can find in-season local produce as well as a variety of handmade crafts. It is open Tuesday from 2 pm to 6 pm and Saturday from 7 am to 1 pm. If you find yourself free on Thursday or Friday the Trash & Treasure sale can be a fun way to spend some time. You never know what you'll find! It is also hosted at the Farmers Market. The hours are 8 am to 1 pm.
Meek's Park, one of the most beautiful parks in North Georgia, is another great place to visit with over 5 miles of walking trails, a playground, pavilions and picnic tables. It is home to the Scottish Festival, Sorghum Festival and the award winning Butternut Creek Festival. It also houses the counties recreational department with playing fields, tennis courts, and pool. The walking trails connect to our local dog park found on the campus of North Georgia Technical College. There you can also find a disc golf course.
Golf courses abound as well. Two local courses, Butternut Creek and Old Union are both excellent. And within a thirty minute drive are Brasstown Valley in Young Harris and Cherokee Hills in Murphy, NC.
If shopping is what you're after there are many boutique style shops, as well as an abundance of thrift stores and antique shops. Many find our local Flea Markets a fun way to spend an afternoon. If your looking for outlet shopping, North Georgia Premium Outlet is in Dawsonville approximately 50 miles away.
How about a Spa Day? There are two excellent spas nearby. Serenity in the Mountains located in Blue Ridge is a full service spa including a hair salon. They are known for their excellent service and relaxing atmosphere. Equani Spa at Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris can also provide a variety of services. The views from their terrace are an added treat.
Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino in Murphy, NC is just a short 30 minute drive away. Or maybe you'd like to take a train ride.... Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is nearby.
These are but a few of the many, many things to do and see while visiting the area. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Whether your looking for the best stable to enjoy a horseback ride or where to find the nostalgic drive-in, we are glad to help.
