Our gorgeous contemporary home has all the amenities - big kitchen, screened porch, interior waterfall, 3bdrm/3bath with room to sleep more. The home has soaring 26-foot wood ceilings in the entrance offset by cozy interior spaces delightful for visiting and relaxing. This serene 6-acre ranch setting has horses in the pasture, ducks in the ponds and its own private airstrip. It is a beautiful, peaceful and comfortable setting.
Our property does lend itself to weddings and special events, but we are no longer offering that option. Out of respect for our neighbors, we are hosting overnight guest accommodations only for groups of up to 12. I am willing to discuss the possibility of holding a small party, parameters and rates to be discussed directly with me.
There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms in the home. We have four additional tall inflatable mattresses so, if people don't need their own private bedrooms, we can sleep up to 12. Our county has an outside noise ordinance of 10pm.
If you do choose to stay with us, please note that GPS systems direct you to turn on Maggy Rd which is a dead-end. Please ignore that prompt and go one block further east (toward the Sierra mountain range) and turn right on Tavernor,
then right on Walmort. Our place is at the end of Walmort, last driveway to the left.
I designed the home and my husband and his construction crew built it. After decades of leadership in business and non-profits, I now offer equine assisted growth and learning activities here at the ranch. I love spending time with my kids and grandkids and am teaching yoga and meditation once again.

If hanging out with your friends or family is your priority, our home is an excellent choice. The property is isolated from the noise and activity of the outside world. The setting is comfortable and relaxed with choices of interior and exterior settings.
The most frequent comment I get is that the environment is serene and beautiful. We're surrounded by vineyards. Guests can explore the chill vibe of the Gold Country or the buzz of downtown Sacramento as each is 20 minutes away.
Barbara was a lovely hostess and greeted us when we arrived. When we needed anything, she took care of it, and we were generally left to enjoy the lovely home and property. We like to cook and the kitchen was well appointed for preparing meals, and we were able to host a small family dinner. We especially enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, and we will choose to stay there again.
This property is true to the description- dramatic, spacious country home not too far from the city. As we were there for junior Olympics with a very hectic schedule it was so nice to feel as though we had our own little retreat each night to recover from the days excitement. Our host Barbara was fantastic and gracious. Although she lives on the property, in a separate unit, we felt as though we had the place to ourselves but could reach out to her if needed for anything. The only time we really knew she was on the premises was when the sprinkler system was on in the morning as she was tending to the horses. A relaxing way to wake up in the morning to enjoy the cascading waterfall from the porch with cup of joe. This is a wonderful secluded property if you are looking for a getaway that can accommodate a big party. The only thing that would make it better is a pool!
Thank you Barbara for your outstanding hospitality.

First I would like to thank Barbara and Eric for allowing us to stay at their beautiful place and all the help they provided. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights initially with a family of 7 but other family arrived and ended up with 10. There was more than enough room and everyone slept comfortably. At night the family gathered in the large living area and played board games, some which came with the house. The grounds are beautiful with a pond in front and green grass. The house is even more beautiful. A 2 story central heat and air conditioned log cabin type with a huge master bedroom with Jacuzzi and an amazing shower... you gotta try it!!! down stairs bedrooms were quite comfortable and plenty of bathrooms so no fighting for toilet time. My family was thoroughly impressed and stated over and over that it was a great property pick and all would like to go back next year but for a longer stay. The house was clean with excellent decor with lots of extras, washer, dryer, dishes, pots, pans, refrigerator, and linen. I highly recommend this property and be prepared for a quiet, relaxing, high quality stay. Thanks again . Danny, El Paso TX
I needed a place for my future daughter-in-law and her bridesmaids to stay before her wedding. I chose Barbara's place and couldn't be happier that I did. The home is so beautiful, comfortable and spacious. We ended up using the house to take all the pre-wedding pictures and got some absolutely beautiful shots. Barbara is a charming and gracious host and made sure our stay was everything we wanted it to be.
Barbara was a gracious host. She was quick to respond before our stay and accommodated our need to come in earlier and stay a bit later. Both her home and the surrounding grounds provided the retreat my work team needed. It was peaceful, spacious and beautiful. This will definitely be a place we would consider again for future stays.
We had a family reunion in the area and rented the house for my immediate family,10 adults It's on a lovely property with a big lawn and pond....great for watching the sun rise, ducks and bunnies! It has a great kitchen which got lots of use, a screened in porch where we ate our breakfast every morning and a large living room for lots of fun conversation. I was a little confused regarding the bedrooms and sleeping arrangements. There are 3 spacious bedrooms and an open loft that is an office. From the description I thought that would be a bedroom but we ended up putting a very comfortable inflatable mattress....which was fine but there wouldn't be any privacy if a couple were to sleep there. Our adult daughter slept on an inflatable mattress on our room (the master is huge), then we had two in the living room.
The owner's of this property are super nice and very accommodating. I would rent it again in a heart beat!
FYI...this property is really out in the country which is part of the charm. There is a little store a couple of miles away for small items, milk and bread.
The closest shopping is Gault or Elk Grove. So just make sure you plan accordingly and plan a head to stock your kitchen if your doing meals.
Many GPS systems tell you to turn on Maggy Rd. DO NOT DO SO, it is a dead-end and cannot bring you to our home.
Travel one block further EAST (toward the Sierra mountain range) then turn right on Tavernor. Take to Walmort (yes, it's a different section of Walmort) turn right and we're the last driveway on the left, sign says Sky Ridge Ranch.
