About Mike Dicks

The ranching operation was started in 1990 and became a premier angus herd by the end of that decade. I was on the faculty at OSU in the college of Ag from 1989 until retirement in 2013. All of our kids were raised here and only one of them remains in the state and my wife and I had to move as a result of health issues. We still visit the farm regularly and work with neighbors to run cattle and improve the land and resources.

Mike Dicks purchased this house in 1995

Why Mike Dicks chose Oklahoma

This property was in sorry shape when it was purchased and looked very much like the land across the road. We wanted to return the land to its native state and bring the resources back to a condition where they would support the abundant native wildlife. I think when you visit you will see the success of our efforts as the property now has many native species such as turkeys, bobcat, beavers and deer.

What makes this house unique

The recreational opportunities on this land are abundant as is is one mile from one end to the other and their are 13 ponds located throughout that offer fishing and hunting opportunities or just hiking and bird watching/wildlife observation. The home is secluded and quiet and offers a chance to get away from all the hustle of the city while still being only six miles from downtown Stillwater .

Guestbook comments from the manager

Wow! What a wonderful setting for the entire family. Removed from the hassle of traffic, yet close enough for all activities in town. The breakfasts both days exceeded our expectations. We loved our weekend and look forward to next year!

Gorgeous views, Beautiful House, Quiet and enough space for the whole family

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for the weekend when our daughter graduated from Oklahoma State University. Beautiful house. Loved having the master separate from the other bedrooms. We enjoyed the covered patio every day. There was enough room to have guests out for a family/friends gathering with a casual dinner and drinks. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The home and grounds were clean and well maintained. The extra bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms gave everyone enough privacy and personal space. We all enjoyed our stay here.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I were in town for a wedding and wanted to stay somewhere where we could all spend time with each other. We rented the whole house and it was perfect. The home and land are beautiful. Richard and his wife were very accommodating. If we are ever back in Oklahoma, we will definitely stay here again!

Amazing property

  • 5 of 5

We rented the entire property for graduation weekend. The property was amazing and the owners were very accommodating. We really enjoyed everything about our stay, the home was very clean, breakfast was excellent, location was just outside of town but super easy to get too. We could not have asked for better hosts.
