About Paul Granier

My family of four have lived in the North Dallas area for the better part of 20 years. All of us have grown up in Texas and my wife and I have graduated from Universities in Texas (Texas A&M and University of Texas). And now we run a staffing/search firm in Dallas. We like getting away from it all from time to time and this is one of the main reasons we bought this fantastic cabin.

Paul Granier purchased this cabin in 2016

Why Paul Granier chose Oklahoma

We liked our Hillside Hideaway Cabin so much and it is renting so well that we decided to build a second cabin! It is called Hilltop Getaway Cabin at Legacy Trails and became available in November of 2016. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin and sleeps 8 comfortably. It is set at the highest point in Legacy Trails on a hilltop overlooking the Kiamichi Mountains in all directions.

We bought our first cabin because we were looking for a quick getaway place near water that was within easy reach of Dallas. We had looked and looked but had never found a place that had an attractive lake, a great lot and a beautiful cabin on it. When I saw Hillside Hideaway, I knew that that we had found the one we had been looking for and bought it immediately. Hillside Hideaway was brand new when we bought it in 2014 and was built with personal pride that shows.

Hilltop Getaway was hand-crafted by the same builder and is immaculately furnished. It sits on a hilltop with 3 acres of mostly wooded land and incredible panoramic views. And the 30-acre Legacy Trails neighborhood will be all vacation rental cabins set on 2-3 acres each with views of trees, rolling hills, creeks, wildlife and the Upper Mountain Fork river. Trust me, I am sure you will love Legacy Trails as much as we did when we discovered it.

What makes this cabin unique

If you want a secluded, peaceful getaway that is still close to the action, look no further. This cabin is set on about 3 acres, so it has a lot of privacy, yet has incredible views above the tree line in all directions. The view is amazing and the Mountain Fork River is about a 5-minute walk away. Fishermen will love this location, for sure. Legacy Trails now offers kayaks at no charge for our guest and the Mountain Fork River makes for an incredible kayaking experience. Check out the pictures to get a feel for the various river conditions.

The cabin is very high-end and the beautiful workmanship on both the inside and the outside of the cabin are simply amazing. Just check out the pictures of the family room and kitchen.

There are many outside sitting areas. From the 32' covered front porch with swing, the full-length back covered porch (50') or the expansive back deck for those that only want a 'little' nature to the fire pit area for those that truly want to 'feel' the outdoors. Make sure to look up at night and see the stars like you have never seen before.

The first and second bedrooms have queen beds and the third bedroom has two bunk beds. The kitchen is fully equipped with the latest in appliances and conveniences and there is even a laundry room with a full size washer and dryer.

And being the gadget guy that I am, I could not do without an excellent surround sound system and Blu-ray DVD player. There is a whole assortment of movies and games to choose from, but no satellite TV service. Didn't you come here to enjoy the outdoors anyway?

But for those of you that cannot live without internet, wireless internet is available (please limit video streaming to one movie per day).

As far as phone service, AT&T Wireless and Pine Cellular work very well from within the cabin.

Great cabin with a beautiful view.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is a little out of the way if you are trying to do activities in Broken Bow but the property is worth it for the views. It sits on a hilltop with a great view of the surrounding mountains. The layout and amenities were great, we had four adults and two children and we all had plenty of room. The only negatives are that the kitchen was a little lacking in supplies (for example, it didn't have filters for the coffee maker) and the $65 cleaning charge on top of the $250 a night charge was a bit much.

Perfect cabin getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Lots of fun adventures for our boys. Hiking, exploring, kayaking, fishing and just playing around the river. We also spent a day at the lake. Great location, and the cabin has amazing views of the sunset. It was very clean and our kids loved the bunk room. We would love to come back in the fall!

WOW!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in multiple cabins in Broken Bow and the Hilltop Getaway is exactly what this cabin is. You are removed from the Hussel and bussel of Broken Bow on an amazing hill with the most breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. The cabin was just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The owner, Paul, was just a phone call away with any questions. The cabin is perfectly built and beautifully decorated! We will be going back to this cabin for sure!!!!!!

Awesome new cabin with amazing views of mountains!

  • 5 of 5

This property was amazing! We are already planning another visit. The views of the mountains from the deck was worth every penny paid alone. It was magical! The river access was awesome as well! We plan on going back soon and bringing our family.

Twice a year!

  • 5 of 5

We have been going to Legacy Trails twice a year for the last several years and really love it. Very peaceful, lots of space between cabins (3+ acres per cabin) and a great getaway! We go every Spring and Fall.

This property was absolutely beautiful! Views were amazing. Peaceful and serene.

  • 5 of 5

Location description is slightly deceiving - not in Broken Bow. Actually 45 miles to the north in Smithville. My guys are fishermen and was not as close to the river as we had hoped but they had a great time anyway. This cabin was so beautiful! Nice floor plan and decorated to perfection. We had a wonderful, relaxing time.
