Easily accessible summer outdoor activities in the valley include awesome fishing on the Snake & Salt Rivers, river floating, boating, para-sailing, paddle boarding, jet skiing, horseback riding, ATV trails, hiking trails and 4 golf courses. In the winter you can enjoy sonwshoeing, snowmobiliing and in Jackson Hole - famous skiing, snowboarding, dog sledding & sleigh rides through the Elk Refuge.

My husband's dream is to live in Wyoming so we decided to give it a trial run and rented Mary's house for a total of six weeks with a break mid-way because of a prior reservation. We were a little hesitant at first because we thought we wanted to be closer to Jackson Hole but decided to give Alpine a try and loved it. There's everything you need in the town from a hardware store, grocery, good restaurants, gym, etc. And, you miss the crowds in JH. I was still working and the trip to the airport when I needed to fly out was only about 45-50 minutes along a very scenic drive.
The house was perfect. Spacious, bright, well-equipped and felt like home instantly. The yard was fenced in and very private. Mary was great and very easy to work with. We stayed in frequent communication and we had all our questions answered. She has such a beautiful home it was very generous of her to share it with strangers. The house cleaner was excellent and the house was immaculate when we arrived. We've stayed at many VRBO properties and this was by far the best all around. The only thing to note is that it is not air conditioned. It gets very cool at night so you can manage this by keeping shades down but for some people this might be a problem.
Alpine is located at the north end of Star Valley which stretches 50 miles south and is considered rural. Driving along scenic Hwy 89 you have a 360 scenic views of the valley, pastures, mountains & Palisades Lake.
Wildlife is abundant some of which you can enjoy right from the house. The famous Huskie Factory where they make each Huskie airplane individually is located in Afton (approx. 40 miles south of Alpine) - they are happy to take people on tours of the factory.
The new Alpine Airpark development has an airstrip with beautiful custom homes & attached hangers; the Old Yellowstone Garage located in Alpine is a fine dining restaurant/bar with great service & a warm ambiance. Chef Paulie creates mouthwatering Italian cuisine & on Sundays they have all you can eat Pasta.
All of the amenities you need are nearby and Jackson Hole is only 50 miles away which offers shopping, skiing, fine dining, theatre, Nat'l Museum of Wildlife Art, hotels, wildlife and outdoor experiences. Yellowstone, Cody, Green River and Montana are all places to see during your time here. The opportunities to really experience the last of the "Old West" is right here for you to enjoy. If you are considering relocating to this area, this house is the perfect place to start.

Cancellation Policy: 100% refund if cancelled 30 days prior to check-in; 50% refund if cancelled 14 days prior to check-in.
No individuals under the age of 21 are to be left unattended on the premises overnight. The Property Damage Protection Fee is charged by VRBO & refundable by VRBO if no damage is reported. There is a Utility Cap of $150 & additonal DirecTV charges or other expenses incurred by the homeowner above & beyond terms.
Maximum occupancy is 6 people unless approved by Homeowner.
Indemnification: The Homeowner shall be totally indemnified, defended and held harmless from all and any claims, demand actions, causes of action, expenses, damages, losses, or injuries sustained by tenants during your tenancy and occupancy of the property.
