About Lynn Tobitt

My husband and I were living in Atlanta, GA but my husband is from a little town about 45 min. from here. Every weekend we came from Atlanta to Winchester to help take care of his dad. Each week we would get off I-24 at the top of the mountain and go down the mountain instead of over the mountain on I-24 because of the beautiful drive. It didn't take me long at all to fall in love with TN but especially Monteagle

Lynn Tobitt purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Lynn Tobitt chose Tennessee

When we were looking for land to build our cabin getaway a family member told us about this lot. As we were driving down the road to the lot we crossed Monteagle Lake which is the water source for the city of Monteagle, TN. There was a family fishing and having a picnic by the lake with the kids running around playing having a wonderful family outing. We also were impressed with the homes we were passing and the views you could see behind a lot of them. This street has a very homey, friendly feeling and we were impressed with the deer and other wildlife we saw as we made our way down quiet country road.

When we got to the lot and saw the view of Dripping Springs Cove we knew this was the place we wanted to build our cabin. The quiet, peaceful area combined with the terrific bluff views and mountain breezes made this the ideal spot for our Bluff View Cabin.

So here it is. Our beautiful three bedrooms, two and a half bath cabin is modern yet rustic and luxurious. The large deck, modern kitchen, wonderful living area, and spacious bedrooms make this a fantastic home away from home where life is to be enjoyed and memories are made.

RELAX-UNWIND-ENJOY

Better yet come see for yourself, we are waiting on you!

Watch the humming birds at the feeder and indulge in the quiet mountain atmosphere with your favorite glass of wine or other beverage of choice. Soak your troubles away in the hot tub as you recharge for whatever life brings you when you have to go back home.

To help you with some of the small details when renting a cabin we will provide for you dish soap (liquid & dishwasher), laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, coffee filters, salt and pepper, spices and trash bags. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and should have everything you need to prepare meals for your family or friends. If you have a small child we also provide a Pack and Play for your convenience. Enjoy the luxurious accommodations that are here in your “HOME AWAY FROM HOME”.

Guestbook comments from the owner

“Thank you so much for your graciousness in using the cabin while my husband worked up here. The girls didn’t want to leave this cabin and all of their outdoor adventures for the past three weeks.

I’ve been in a lot of places through VRBO and you have all the necessities for a longer stay!

We really loved meeting you. God bless you both!”

Very clean and Lot's of fun

  • 5 of 5

We had lot's of fun at this beautiful cabin. It may be the cleanest cabin we have every stayed at and comes well appointed with anything you will need for your stay. It was a easy drive to cabin when you get off of the interstate. Close to anything you would need, restaurants, groceries, etc. We went fishing in area lakes and ponds and spent time playing games inside and enjoying the hot tub on deck to relax. You can watch the sunset from the deck. We could have used another day or two and hope to come back!

Well maintained cabin perfect for downtime or exploring the parks in the area

  • 5 of 5

My family of five stayed there for the weekend. Cabin was well stocked and well maintained, an easy transition from home to home-away-from-home. We were able to relax and stay in for a day, and also get out and explore the many parks and Sewanee nearby. It was a perfect place for any adventure!

Peaceful, Romantic Retreat

  • 5 of 5

It was amazing to be able to enjoy a "cabin experience" so close to Nashville! Although, we must say, this cabin is not like the typical weekend cabin!

The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, pots and pans and dishes (I cooked a full surprise birthday dinner there), linens are all provided, and the three bedrooms/2.5 baths would be great for a group.

We also enjoyed a great meal at historic High Point, convenient and just a few miles away.

One of the most wonderful memories we have from our time there was watching a peaceful snowfall, in early March! It was so beautiful to look out over the distant ridge and see snow covered hills and trees.

Owners Lynn and Charles Tobitt were fantastic to work with. Make sure you ask them for the snow, too:)

A cabin with great view for destressing and healing

  • 5 of 5

This is the third time I have stayed at this house, it is immaculately decorated and super clean. The couch and love seat is very comfortable, clean and fits the rest of the décor. I really loved the fireplace, laid on the couch almost all night watching the fire. I really liked the granite counter tops that added a lot of class to a beautiful and well supplied kitchen. The hard wood floors are to die for, give me the motivation to put the same floors in my own home. The cabin has 2.5 bathrooms that were well thought out large enough to use without wasting space and absolutely spotless. The master sweet on the ground floor is warm and inviting and has a private bathroom. All three beds are super comfortable and have nice sheets with great comforters also the master sweet has a number of beautiful hand made Quilts for use. The two bedrooms upstairs are large enough to have privacy for the opponents to enjoy themselves without everyone hearing them. The steps going up stairs were some of the finest craftsmanship I have ever seen. This is a house that I want to return to and never leave. One of the many things I enjoyed that made me feel so welcome is that before you arrive the owner comes to the cabin and turns on some really nice music on the tv, made me feel very relaxed and wanted. If the cabin by its self isn't enough to help you unwind the view is stunning and add some adult beverage and get in the hot tub and your stress will disappear. I love this cabin!!!!!!!!

Clean but not comfortable.

  • 3 of 5

The cabin has a great view and is equipped reasonably well but the beds were not comfortable (in particular the master mattress felt like it was from the 60s). There were lots of design items that could have greatly improved the experience (size of bathroom, location of toilets, fireplace could have been vented, etc). But overall it was a pleasant stay and we enjoyed our time.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry if you found any part of your visit to be uncomfortable. We strive to make everyone’s stay with us an enjoyable and relaxing experience. In doing so, we sometimes, when it is possible make exceptions for early or late check in or check out as we did with you. With respect to the beds (mattress, etc.) they were all purchased less than a year and a half ago. As far as the fireplace is concerned, it is a non-vented gas fireplace built and installed to Southern Building Code. For safety sake, it has an installed thermostat to keep the fireplace itself and the building from getting too hot and does turn the flame off when it gets to the temperature setting which is set by the manufacturer. Likewise, it turns the flame back on when it cools down. This happens more often when the weather is warm like it was during your visit. This is usually remedied by turning the HVAC thermostat to a lower setting allowing the fireplace to provide the heat. Again, this is purely a safety issue addressed by the manufacturer of the unit. I am not sure what to say about the bathrooms. They are modern with granite and tile and, whereas they could possibly be more spacious, they have been adequate for us and all our other guests so far. Again I am truly sorry that every part of your visit was not absolutely perfect because that is our desire and we make every effort to insure that each guest has the most enjoyable experience possible. We appreciate having had you stay with us and hope that you will have the occasion to visit with us again. Lynn
