For the Brave And Adventurous! Sleep and relax in an 18" TiPi with wood floor, very comfortable double bed for two. I have lived in the Tipi last summer, it was wonderful and I stayed warm, dry, and very comfortable, even in the most wicked rain and wind storm. For those cold nights there is a fire pit for your use.
At the moment there is no electricity, but there is a lantern and solar lights so you can find your way around. The tipi has two sitting areas and plenty of storage. Also for your convenience there is an additional gazebo which houses a stove, cooking supplies, french press for making coffee, silverware, plates, mugs and bowls. Even a cooler if you need one. There is also table and chairs for two and water jug, a place to do dishes and of course a garbage.
Next to the gazebo is a platform with two lounge chairs and umbrella. There is a private latrine, (see building to left of tipi) (compostable toilet) no shower at this time. There is however a KOA, and Hot Springs 6 miles down the road, and the river is just a short walk away!!!
I grew up in Bozeman Mt. Kindergarten through collage, I have also lived in Kallispell Mt., birthplace of my oldest daughter. I spent 4 glorious years in Paradise Valley Mt. and also resided in Castle Rock Colorado where my other two children were born.
I love spending time close to nature, so I set this TiPi up this summer and lived in it myself all summer. I am now residing in my house and sharing the Tipi experience with you!
Gwen Allen purchased this cabin in 2006
I moved to Gallatin Gateway because I just wanted to live a less hectic life, and living just out side of the Bozeman donut has provided me with a quiet country living yet close to city life. The property is located on an acre of land so I have plenty of space for a house and TiPi living . The Tipi, gazebo and compostable toilet is private and is separated from the house by trees and distance.
I love the space and freedom this area allows. There are two tipis on the acreage , horses next door and the night time sky is increedible. You can even hear the Gallatin River from the TiPi, which is just yards away.
A short walk will take you to the river, great food and entertainment, biking and walking around this quiet, community is really special, and quite private.
We loved staying here. The tepee and the little area for cooking was great. I loved how she had extra spices and some of the little essentials. It is an experience that any camper should experience.
Was a unique and very pretty location. Host super sweet. The teepee we stayed in wasn't sealed at the base so access for lots of bugs and easy escape for dogs. If you don't mind peeing in a sack (compostable toilet) you'll be fine but I preferred the ground to the unstable tent toilet. Maybe I'm just squeamish. Other than that it was reasonably priced, quiet and near a good restaurant/bar. Beautiful country.
The tipi was beautiful and comfy. The cabana was very convenient. The only downsides was that it wasn't very private. It was kind of like backyard camping. Although Gwen did not intrude it was still a little uncomfortable. Also even though it is a quick walk to the Gallatin there was no easy access. But if you want a place to use as a home base while you explore the Gallatin Canyon this is ideal. There is a bar/restaurant within walking distance. The food was awesome and the live music a great time! Also we rode a very windy day and a thunderstorm in the tipi and stayed safe and dry
Tipi is of of HWY 89, In Gallatin Gateway, MT. TiPi is located on an acre and an easy walk to the Gallatin River, nice easy restful area. Compostable toilet, gazebo where you can cook. A sitting area where you can relax. Bring your bikes, and your sense of adventure!!!!
