About Tami Morton

Johnny and Tami Morton purchased this little paradise in 2010 to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Both involved in multiple business ventures, it was a gift to come home in the evening and unwind in this beautiful serene setting. It was like being miles from nowhere yet close if necessary. We loved the cabin so much we decided to share it with others. We live very close and take much pride in ownership. We hope you love it and care for it the same as we do.

Tami Morton purchased this house in 2010

Why Tami Morton chose Missouri

Rebecca Lane is in the middle of nowhere, but actually close to everything. St. Louis is 45 minutes, Washington is 10 minutes, and downtown Marthasville which has practically everything you would need in 3 minutes. Why not this property????

What makes this house unique

Only log cabin of its kind in this area. Built from 10" logs. Large and spacious, lake front, woods to wander in, chimanea to watch fires in, firepit to have open fires for roasting hotdogs, smores and more, berries to pick, fish to feed, wildlife such as deer, fox, raccoons, herons, skunks, turtles, muskrats, hummingbirds and wild birds too numerous to name. A real outdoor paradise for nature lovers.

IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE: The cabin is filled with taxidermy animals. WE DID NOT KILL ANY OF THESE. They were victims of traffic accidents, purchased at auctions, or donated to us by conservationists. We thought this would be a great way for adults and children alike to see wildlife up close without ever feeling the need to harm a live animal. They are also unable to grow new hair so we ask that you do not handle of pet. If taxidermy animals bother you, the cabin is probably not a good fit. Thank you.

Guestbook comments from the manager

My birthday gathering was at the cabin. It was so wonderful. I highly recommend this place! Cozy, comfortable, serene! The view of the pond is so calming. I can't rave about it enough. Stay here. It's great!!

There is also the katy trail, shopping, eateries, wineries and more. The other services listed above are booked and paid separately by traveler. You can even hire a limo for a day to tour the wineries. Great way to spend a safe carefree day in wine country.

Authentic cabin with modern amenities.

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was spacious and peaceful. We loved feeding the fish and watching the deer. About an hour away from the zoo and Meramac Caverns, perfect balance of secluded and things to do.

Quaint Place - Nice Getaway

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time over the weekend. Nice comfy cabin with plenty of space for 8 adults.

The only downside was that the bathroom doors were a little finicky and the fridge had a broken shelf which limited available space.

Overall I'd happily spend another weekend here.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback. We will definitely look into and take care of doors and refrigerator shelf. Usually maintenance or housekeeping handles these matters but we will repair/replace as soon as possible. Thank you for calling this to our attention. Thanks for staying with us and we hope to see you again sometime. Have a great day.

Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Lovely, peaceful property about 50 min drive from St. Louis. It is well-equipped and very clean. Well, a previous tenant left some dirty pans hidden in the cabinet, but that's on them. We enjoyed using the boat to paddle around. Just read the descriptors carefully-this is not a fishing lake. Sleeps 9 if at least one is a child. There is a pack and play for baby.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to give feedback and especially for the 5-star review. We try very hard to keep the cabin the way we would like to find a place we were going to stay in. Sorry about the dirty dishes that were missed by housekeeping. They only have 4 hours to clean and prepare between guests and sometimes things get overlooked. But honestly, who would have ever looked in the cabinet for dirty dishes. You said it perfectly--That's on them:(. We list the cabin as sleeping 10 as there are 9 beds and one couch. Lastly, sorry about the no fishing. We find the greater of the whole prefer feeding them than catching them. You were awesome guests and we hope to see you again sometime. Have a great day.

3 days for 3 retired ladies on Rebecca Lane.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. There were a couple snags. But, the owner came over and took care of that quickly. Feeding the fish was a hoot. We will miss them. The place is pretty much as you see it in the videos. One of us is bringing a group in September. That's a good sign. Thanks.
