About Tami Morton

Johnny and Tami Morton purchased this little paradise in 2010 to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Both involved in multiple business ventures, it was a gift to come home in the evening and unwind in this beautiful serene setting. It was like being miles from nowhere yet close if necessary. We loved the cabin so much we decided to share it with others. We live very close and take much pride in ownership. We hope you love it and care for it the same as we do.

Tami Morton purchased this house in 2010

Why Tami Morton chose Missouri

Rebecca Lane is in the middle of nowhere, but actually close to everything. St. Louis is 45 minutes, Washington is 10 minutes, and downtown Marthasville which has practically everything you would need in 3 minutes. Why not this property????

What makes this house unique

Only log cabin of its kind in this area. Built from 10" logs. Large and spacious, lake front, woods to wander in, chimanea to watch fires in, firepit to have open fires for roasting hotdogs, smores and more, berries to pick, fish to feed, wildlife such as deer, fox, raccoons, herons, skunks, turtles, muskrats, hummingbirds and wild birds too numerous to name. A real outdoor paradise for nature lovers.

IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE: The cabin is filled with taxidermy animals. WE DID NOT KILL ANY OF THESE. They were victims of traffic accidents, purchased at auctions, or donated to us by conservationists. We thought this would be a great way for adults and children alike to see wildlife up close without ever feeling the need to harm a live animal. They are also unable to grow new hair so we ask that you do not handle of pet. If taxidermy animals bother you, the cabin is probably not a good fit. Thank you.

Guestbook comments from the manager

My birthday gathering was at the cabin. It was so wonderful. I highly recommend this place! Cozy, comfortable, serene! The view of the pond is so calming. I can't rave about it enough. Stay here. It's great!!

Great family getaway retreat

  • 5 of 5

So comfortable. Plenty of room for meals and card games at the kitchen table. The cabin is large enough to find a quiet spot for a nap. Adults and children were entertained feeding the fish and watching wildlife. The Morton's have thought of everything and were excellent to deal with.

Beautiful getaway spot

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely cabin in a lovely spot. We met another couple here and enjoyed time here for relaxation and conversation. The cabin was very comfortable and we had everything we needed for cooking. Temperatures soared into the humid mid-90's while we were there so we didn't spend much time outside except in the very early morning or late evening but the cabin stayed cool. It was a delight to feed the fish and to watch for wildlife. The windy country roads about the area are so beautiful to explore. We appreciated being able to have our dog with us too.

Exceeded my Expectations-Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

This was by far the best cabin I have ever stayed in. Not only was it beautifully decorated, but sat on a small quiet private lake! My children loved it! Mrs. Tami has her cabin well equipped with all the essentials most families would need! We were in awe of the cabins permanent residents! There is an abundance of taxidermy but it is placed about the cabin appropriately adding even more fascination and beauty.

As all smart travelers read the reviews you will find some people weren't as keen on the permanent friends (taxidermy), but it is all about perspective! We are guest in someone's home who received these creatures as gifts. Taxidermy is an art form! Taxidermist must have a thorough understanding of an animals biology, anatomy, sculpture and years of experience. Every renowned museum of natural history has a taxidermist on staff. So think of your stay as educational as well as relaxing! You get to see animals as you may never get to see them in the wild. Our stay has fostered wonder, fasinaction, and respect for the wild! We loved it. Can't say anything negative about our stay. My children didn't want to leave and I was ready to move in!

Owner's Response: Dear Miss Ariel, your response made me cry. I had just told my husband that I was beaten down and resigning myself to the negativity of others and was going to get rid of the animals that I love. Your words were spoken as if you knew my heart and head. They did come from a beautiful person that is now in heaven. He was a full bird colonel that fought and protected us in three wars. I as you embrace them as educational and beautiful. Thank you for your knowledge, kindness and affirmation. I needed to hear it at exactly this moment. The colonel would be proud of me for standing by my convictions. I was always taught that if I didn't have something nice to say I shouldn't say anything at all. Your awesome review lifted my spirits. Thank you so much. I will keep hoping that rather than criticize, others will realize that it is an opportunity to see the beautiful creatures God gave us up close😀 Thank you for being such an awesome guest and we definitely hope to see you again sometime. Have a great day.

The property and cabin are awesome!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from 3 nights 3 days on Rebecca Lane in Marthasville and had a delightful time. We were celebrating our Mothers 80th Birthday and filled the cabin with family and close friends and it couldn't worked out any better.

It is a great getaway that we hope to do again and would recommend it to anyone wanting a private getaway for any occasion!

Nice.

  • 5 of 5

It was very nice. We used the cabin and lake for our "motivation maker" for a number of young people to read their Bible as well as a spiritual book appropriate for their age, Knowing the Church by W. Nee and W. Lee in collaboration. It was very motivating for them, and they had an excellent time (for those who got the reward!!).
