About Tami Morton
Johnny and Tami Morton purchased this little paradise in 2010 to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Both involved in multiple business ventures, it was a gift to come home in the evening and unwind in this beautiful serene setting. It was like being miles from nowhere yet close if necessary. We love the cabin so much we decided to share it with others. We live very close and take much pride in ownership. We hope you love it and care for it the same as we do.

Why Tami Morton chose Charrette
Rebecca Lane is in the middle of nowhere, but actually close to everything. St. Louis is 45 minutes, Washington is 10 minutes, and downtown Marthasville which has practically everything you would need in 3 minutes. Why not this property????
What makes this Cabin unique
Only log cabin of its kind in this area. Built from 10" logs. Large and spacious, lake front, woods to wander in, firepit to have open fires for roasting hotdogs, smores and more, berries to pick, fish to feed, deer, fox, raccoons, herons, skunks, turtles, muskrats, hummingbirds and wild birds too numerous to name. A real outdoor paradise for nature lovers. IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE: The cabin has alot of taxidermy animals. WE DID NOT KILL ANY OF THESE. They were victims of traffic accidents, purchased at auctions, or donated to us by conservationists. We thought this would be a great way for adults and children alike to see wildlife up close without ever feeling the need to harm a live animal. They are also unable to grow new hair so we ask that you do not handle or pet. If taxidermy animals bother you, the cabin is probably not a good fit. Thank you.

Relaxing weekend away!
A few girlfriends and our kids loved our stay- very clean- everything needed was available- great fire pit, boats for the kids to paddle around- open living room kitchen area for large gatherings-large bedrooms and decent baths- board games- close to Washington and wineries-Tami was great to deal with.
We are very pleased and proud to hear you enjoyed your stay. We love the cabin and enjoy sharing our little getaway with others and hope they will enjoy it as much as we do. You were great guests and hopefully you will make us part of your girls weekend again. Have a Merry Christmas.
Very quaint cabin.
Great place to stay. Love the lake and so did the dogs.
Thank you for the review. We hope you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again sometime.

Great cozy log cabin for the family!
This is a beautiful cabin and was excellent for our family's Thanksgiving getaway. The pictures currently on the listing actually don't do it justice. The cabin felt right at home for all of us. My niece loved being able to sit outside on the canoe reading a book and enjoying the morning sunshine (in short sleeves on Thanksgiving morning), while another ran around the pond flying a kite, and someone else shooting arrows nearby. One of us sat on the roof to get 4G (because anywhere else on the property the cell service is poor), and others enjoyed being able to relax on the deck or in the gorgeous rustic living space, or take a walk down the lane. The kitchen and bathrooms were well-stocked. The whole place was nicely decorated, too.
Tips for guests:
- Bring your own drinking water. The water here is safe to drink. but the hot water smells like sulfur. This also applies to the showers as well. The upstairs shower hot water smells more like sulfur than downstairs.
- Be careful (especially if you bring kids) with the couches in the living room. They slide very easily across the wooden floor.
- There is a lot of taxidermy. It didn't bother us at all, but just be aware.
- Indoor fireplace is not safe and thus not functional. When I booked this property, I did not see this on the listing, and found this information to be hidden as it would only display when I hovered my mouse over the Fireplace category.
- Cabin has DSL internet and it is not reliable at this time. When it does work, it is very slow, almost like dial-up.
- Cellular service is very poor in this location, but it's great to have a landline phone.
- Front door can be a little hard to lock using the keypad, but it's not a major issue.
- During our stay the outside air smelled pretty foul at times, kind of like a farm. I didn't notice any farms nearby. Not a big deal, but just FYI if that is going to bother you.
Despite the above issues, the cabin was so great and we had a nice time being together as a family. Tami was great to work with during the booking and preparation. Wonderful family memories made here!
Sorry for the slow thank you. Your nice review and rating somehow got lost in the holiday season. thank you for all the helpful feedback. We have corrected everything that we can control. No control over water table or internet. Petticoat Junction is a beautiful place but has a few disadvantages:(. Thanks again for the 5-star. That means alot to us. We hope to see you again.
It was a very rustic home. We totally enjoyed everything.
We had a great family getaway
Thank you so much for the great rating. 5-star means you loved it as much as we do. Thank you be being such great guests. We hope to see you again sometime. Don't forget the cabin is beautiful in all four seasons:). Thanks again and have a great day.
Loved our stay
Our daughter got married at Lake Creek Winery (literally 5 minutes from the cabin) and this cabin was PERFECT!
My daughter and son in law did not want to leave! It was everything they love.
Tami was very helpful to our needs.
Bring your own shampoo and conditioner though! Not one of us packed any as I was used to having it provided.
Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We are glad you liked the cabin. Even though we thought we had thought of everything, we did not think of shampoo or conditioner. I guess I assumed everyone has their own hair care preference. Luckily, there is a small store a mile away for those that don't. Sorry if this caused you any inconvenience. Have a great day.
