2nd year utilizing this property for company excursion. Everything you need for a great stay! Will definitely use again.
What a great property! We booked this place not really knowing the area and hoping for a nice little house close to a lake to go swimming and enjoy a family reunion. What a pleasant surprise!
This is a large home with plenty of space to accommodate a large group. The kids all enjoyed sleeping in the garage on the cots and playing pool and the arcade game. All the adults had a nice (very comfortable) bed to sleep on and a bathroom. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, the gathering room was huge with a massive sectional and a huge TV, and we couldn’t believe the amount of space. The outside decks were large and the home feels quite excluded. There was also plenty of parking, good WiFi, many fans to help keep it cool during the hot parts of the day, and some kayaks for the kids to take to the lake.
The location was great, really close to the lake and the golf course, not far from town either, and it’s on the near side of Cascade Lake from Boise.
An excellent place to stay. Obviously an older place but kept up very well, extremely clean, and very comfortable. A good value for anyone looking to book a place for a large group. We are already considering booking again for next year
It was totally awesome for our family! The location was perfect! I'd highly recommend it to anyone n hope we can come back!
No Internet, No A/C, No Mobile Phone Service, Outside Unkept, Inside Clean but HOT
Although there were several good things about this property that we enjoyed and appreciated, for a place charging as much per night prior to "additional fees", paid 6 weeks up-front, I feel it is reasonable to expect better than the condition and amenities of this property--none of which would prove very costly to include. Also, I feel the listing was deceptive, to the point that had I known the truth about them, I would not have rented the property at all--let alone for the amount I did. I don’t know who I’m more disappointed with—the owners of the property or the listing/management company that represents them and allows the deception.
The biggest one was no internet for the first 6 days and nights of our 7 night stay yet no mention of this at any point during the booking or 6 week lead up to our stay—Yet this is one of the 5 "Featured Amenities" and 5 "General Amenities" for this property. We found that the internet had been down since February (our stay was June 30--July 7).
No Mobile Phone Service for at least Verizon and T-Mobile. This made the lack of internet (as advertised) even more painful.
No Air Conditioning other than one very small, in-the-room portable unit with temperatures reaching 85-90 degrees daily inside the great room and kitchen / dining areas from mid afternoon until sunset at 9:00 pm.
Several electrical outlets were not working in the great room and kitchen as well as malfunctioning dimmer switches in the halls and stairways.
Although the inside was clean, the outside walls were in need of paint / tlc. Some windows were missing screens, two windows had big cracks in them, and lots of spider webs on the two decks and front porch. This especially caused concern having 4 small grandkids with us.
I won't stay at this property again, and I’ll be thinking long and hard before I trust this listing / management company again.
We sincerely apologize for the headaches during your stay. We purposely do not advertise air conditioning at this home. It is very common for mountain home to not have air conditioning because it has very little use throughout the year. While our housekeeping staff does wipe down the deck and porch for guest arrivals, spider webs are bound to happen when in the nature.
Our team will be checking the electrical outlets, wifi, and windows to make sure that this is fixed for our future guests. Again, we are very sorry for the inconveniences that were overlooked and we will make sure that our team is notified of this to avoid the same issues in the future. Thank you!
We were very impressed and enjoyed our stay immensely....when we finally got in. We were unable to get into the cabin based on the instructions. The code to the door did not work. We ended up sitting in our trucks for 3 hours trying to get ahold of someone who could help and for them to solve the problem. We were very disappointed to waste an entire night of our weekend and our reservation sitting in our cars. We had to multiple times drive between the cabin and a location 10 min away to get cell service to speak to the after hours person to try the ideqs she was hoping would work. Very frustrating and a rough start to a relaxing weekend.
Once we were able to get in, our weekend was so nice. The cabin was PERFECT for our needs. We enjoyed our time at Whispering Timbers and hope to make it our new yearly cabin trip location... minus the hectic first night trying to get in!
We are so sorry for the hassle when you were checking in. There was an issue with the locks when the wifi was weak on the door. We sincerely apologize for the hiccup this caused in the beginning of your vacation. Thank you.
Very clean and a great place to stay. Kids had a blast in the garage. Big enough for a large family
