Great, clean place to stay!
My good friend and I rented this house to get away from the craziness of the city. It was a wonderful stay, and we did not want to leave to go home. There are two bedrooms (both are very spacious), and one shared full bath, all downstairs. The main floor where you enter has a half bath and washing machine/dryer. The upstairs has the kitchen (and a large dining table) and living room, TV, fireplace (you'll need to bring/buy your own wood), and two recliners. There is also an outdoor spa! The kitchen was awesome, well stocked with what we needed. There are chairs on the patio, but no umbrella (so bring a hat). You can see the ocean from the patio. The walking path was awesome, and runs along the ocean. The path is not paved, so it is not accessible for a wheelchair/walker. The wifi worked great!
Note: Internet access is sketchy on Hwy 1, so be sure to have an old-fashioned map.
The town of Gualala was just a few minutes away, and that is where we picked up the access info for the rental. There are restaurants, a couple of small supermarkets, cute stores (we liked the kitchen stores and the Four Eye Frog Book Store).
We went tide pooling at Gerstle Cove. Just check the tide schedule before you go. There were a lot of jellyfish at high tide, do not touch them since they may be able to still sting (even on land, and do not go swimming there unless you have a wetsuit that can protect you from the jellies!).
Tip: If you will arrive at nighttime, bring a flashlight. It was hard to see in the dark.
We will be returning!
Good location, needs better upkeep
Wonderful location near the bluffs. Experienced a lot of plumbing issues, sinks backed up, disposal didn’t work, toilet tank issues. Handyman was on scene pretty quickly but still, we weren’t able to use kitchen sink after Friday. Also there were jars on counter for flour sugar seasoning etc and one was filled with gnats. We were pestered all evening by a mini swarm.
Great location but needs more attention to upkeep.
Beautiful, relaxing setting
Home had a great location near cliff trail and not far from Gualala for groceries. Roomy with a relaxing hot tub. Decor is dated and kitchen had ants. Grand Welcome gave us misinformation for electronic key pad - put us on hold twice and then dropped our call as their system went down. Gave up on them, drove to rental office in Gualala to get accurate code/rental packet. Need better coordination between locals and website folks.
Very nice house in Sea Ranch
We (Family with two kids) spent 5 days in this well equipped house in Sea Ranch and enjoyed it very much. The house is clean and spacious. It's only about a hundred yards from the Ocean with trails all over and a gorgeous wildlife.
Most relaxing vacation I’ve ever had!
Haus Bavaria was a perfect escape for a weeklong vacation away from it all! Relaxing on the deck and watching and listening to the ocean in the beauty and solitude of Sea Ranch was just incredible. The kitchen came well-stocked with everything we needed to cook, and there were fun movies and games to keep us entertained. The WiFi was pretty spotty, but that allowed us to truly unplug. Definitely the most relaxing vacation I’ve ever had!
