We seem to have a slow September coming up, so we are reducing our rates by 10% to stimulate interest. Also, we have installed a new kitchen floor and are in the process of adding a TV with DirecTV access. We are committed to improving our visitor experience and take comments on the property very seriously. September is a great time to visit the area, and we intend to keep the pool open as late as it makes sense to do so in the month.
We have a lovely, low-key guest house for rent on our property in Sharon, VT. The house has 3BRs/2BAs, a full kitchen, an eating area adjacent to the kitchen, a largish LR (with a sleeper sofa), and a pleasant outdoor patio with a beautiful view west to the green mountains of Vermont. There is a roughly 1 acre side yard in which kids and dogs can play without leaving the property. The kitchen is well stocked with a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, both a Nespresso and a Keurig coffee machine, all cooking needs, etc. The house has an excellent stereo with two (count 'em) pairs of excellent speakers (one set is B&W), and wifi. We have propane heat and a pellet stove, and the house is well insulated. We are happy to welcome considerate guests who are not expecting the Four Seasons but a low key, very pleasant house in a great Vermont location.
The house is about 20 minutes to Hanover, NH (home to Dartmouth), 20 minutes to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, 15 minutes to "downtown" Norwich, 35 minutes to Queechee and Woodstock, VT, 45 minutes to Montpelier, within an hour to outstanding ski locations in VT (Killington, Stowe, Pico etc.), 1.2 hours to Burlington, 1.5 hours to Manchester NH, 2 hours to Boston, 3 hours to Montreal. Also, an excellent home base to view outstanding Vermont fall foliage.
We are happy to respond to inquiries and do our best to respond within 24 hours.
* There are 3 BRs and a sleeper in the LR. BR1 has a king bed with 2 night tables, BR2 has two single beds (only 1 is shown in photos), BR 3 has a single bed and a bunk bed (only the single bed is shown in the photo).
* We generally consider maximum capacity to be 8 people. IF YOU PROPOSE A LARGER GROUP, WE MUST DISCUSS IT IN ADVANCE.
* Please pardon the amateur quality of the photos. They are marked to show location/point of view. Note that 3 shots have been added to show some views of the adjacent conservancy property, as well as a sunset view from the side yard.
Originally from Pennsylvania, we moved here to accept a position at Dartmouth. We live in a separate house on the premises, 2 adults, 2 teens, 3 dogs, and various friends and family from time to time.
Joseph Ronan purchased this cottage in 2012
As they say at Dan & Whit's in Norwich, if this house doesn't have it, you don't need it.
Peace, love and understanding.
My family of four had a lovely week at this house. The home is more spacious than it appears in the photos, and the open kitchen/living room is very comfortable. It is set far back from the road so it was very quiet, and my kids enjoyed exploring the lawn and running down the long hill, and we all liked hiking the trails directly from the property. The owner's dogs paid us regular visits which my kids enjoyed immensely as well. It was a pretty 20 min drive into the Norwich/Hanover area and the main highway artery to get you anywhere in VT is a 5 min drive.
We greatly enjoyed our stay. The house was spacious and comfortable, and the owner was very accommodating.
We had a lovely stay in Joseph Ronen's 3 bedroom house in Sharon, VT. The common space is very comfortable, with an open floor plan and plenty of space. The yard and views were beautiful. The homeowner is very accommodating and available, if needed. There was a well equipped kitchen which opened up to the dining area and living room. Although the house sleeps 8 people, there are only double beds in 2 of the bedrooms. One of the rooms with the double bed has two single beds in it as well, so it would be good for children, but not for two couples. There is no air conditioning, which could be a problem if you have a very hot day, although opening the windows works perfect on most days.
This is a fun place to stay and experience the beauty of Vermont. Loved our stay. Hope to be back soon.
Rented this house for a family weekend and it was perfect! Plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 little ones - the table in the living room is perfect for kids/games and lots of space for everyone to hang out together. Well equipped kitchen (and bathrooms - plenty of lines, etc.) made it super easy for us to cook and have most of our meals at the house. Location was perfect for King Arthur's Flour education center as well as an afternoon trip into nearby Woodstock. Joe was extremely responsive and helpful through the entire process - would definitely stay here again!
We rented this house for the long Thanksgiving weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had 4 adults and 4 children and had plenty of room for sleeping, eating and gathering for family games. We loved that the kitchen, dining room and living room were very open which allowed for easy family interaction while making meals, etc. This house is in a beautiful, quiet location, which abuts conservation land with plenty of trails, vistas, streams and a pond. Two of our teenagers also enjoyed a lengthy run on the rural roads in the "neighborhood." The owner was very hospitable, accomodating and responsive. Loved the warmth of the pellet stove!!
Property is well situated to enjoy all the Upper Valley has to offer.
