Awesome getaway in the woods
Beautiful location, conveniently located, extremely well maintained. Great for families!
We will be back
Easy to find. Very clean. Nice neighborhood. Peaceful and quiet. The view on river is awesome. Our dog was in heaven :) definitely recommended. We’ll be back in winter time ;)
Great getaway for 2
What a great house. My wife and I went away for the weekend and she just fell in love with the house. The exterior and interior of the house are beautiful. My wife loved sitting on the deck and just listening to the creek, shame we only had a weekend.
Great property for relaxing. The pictures don’t do it justice. The creek is right off the porch with some rapids that create the perfect sound.
A few things if you do rent this place.
Bring your own firewood. The area is so moist that almost nothing can be burned. No big deal.
The GPS took us to the adjacent road. I think because the house is set back. So just drive around the block.
Yes a neighbor can be seen, but barely.
It’s just a great place for yourself, a few friends, families...
My husband, our dog and I spent three days at the place. It’s cozy, romantic and full of nature. It’s the perfect getaway for us. Did I mention privacy?! It’s close to the main road but with a lot of privacy. We love this place and we will be back many times we hope.
Charming, but not quite so secluded
My wife and I agree pretty much with what others have said. The cabin is charming. The main view out the A-frame floor-to-ceiling front windows is a lovely stream flowing with the water of spring and home to a pair of ducks. The space inside the cabin is very nice; rustic, but not too rustic. Nice bathroom, the shower particularly, is nice. The sauna, in a separate building off the front deck, is very nice, too. And if you're coming out from Philadelphia or New York City, this will likely feel quite secluded. By the map, the cabin is wonderfully situated. You can relax in a charming setting, have a sauna, and still be on a highway in 5 minutes heading toward all the amenities of the Poconos.
But secluded is relative. To us, this is a heavily wooded, residential Pennsylvania neighborhood. The cabin sits on a rear "porkchop" (less road frontage, more acreage) lot, back about 200-250 yds from the street and accessed by a driveway that goes between two other front-lot houses and over the stream. From the cabin's front deck, you can still see those two houses, as well as three more through the leafless trees of spring. If you're sitting on one end of the sofa inside the cabin you have a lovely view of the stream. But from the other end of the sofa, or from the dining table, or through the window while sitting in the sauna, or walking from the sauna to the cabin, you'll see the stream and past it, only about 100 yds away, a brown house with a fenced-in yard, four dogs, and a guy on his deck working the BBQ grill. Leaves on the trees will help, but only so much. Others can decide whether that level of "suburban seclusion" is still worth the extra star. We were surprised by it. And I might guess that others have been surprised, too, because on three sides, facing the cabin's lot, abutting owners have posted "No Trespassing" signs oriented toward the cabin. I might guess that others, thinking they had a little more secluded space to, say, walk their dog, ventured too far.
