|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Hello, and welcome to Blacksburg! My home is available for rent for your Blacksburg visitation needs. It has three bedrooms (one with a queen bed and two with double beds), three baths (with supplies), kitchen (stocked with cooking supplies), large living/dining area (with twin futon in living area and tv), a blow up mattress if needed, and a bar downstairs with a big screen tv and foosball table.
It is 1.2 miles from downtown Blacksburg which is just minutes of driving or about a 30 minute walk. The house has numerous decks and nice views of the Ellett Valley and a glimpse of Virginia Tech as it is on a high point in Blacksburg. It is located in an established neighborhood and great for family entertaining. But please, no loud parties. Also, no one under 21 unless traveling with guardians. The house is my home when you are not renting. When you are there, you will have it to yourself for your enjoyment, and if you need anything, I am a phone call away. There is also a beloved cat that lives there while you are not there, but she will not be staying with you during your visit. I would appreciate any smoking to be done on the outside decks. There is parking in the driveway for several vehicles. As I just purchased the house this summer, I am still adding and updating to have everything ready for your visit. I look forward to your visit.
Hi, my name is Chris and I just purchased the home this summer in which you will be staying. I am a native of Blacksburg and am in the Financial Planning Business here in Blacksburg. I also am a musician and play at various restaurants Jazz and Classical Music as well as teach music here in Blacksburg. I live in the home when not renting with a diva cat. I sometimes have a roommate, but none of us will be in the home while you are visiting. However, I am a phone call away if needed. My home is your home and I appreciate in advance that while enjoying it, you will be courteous. I look forward to your visit and hope you will enjoy your stay.
Blacksburg has been my hometown. I have lived here my whole life and always will. I love my house and my views. I am virtually a 5 minute drive to everywhere, grocery store, family members live 5 mins away (so they are close but far enough away) golf course, work, bar, Chipotle, Redbox, 7-11. It's awesome. Blacksburg is great because you get the quiet scenic mountain life without being far from civilization.
Place was perfect for our group of guys. The house was the right amount of space and the decks and yard offered great places to relax, play cornhole, or hangout and enjoy the view of the blue ridge mountains (and the tip of Lane Stadium). Chris was a very accommodating and easy going host and we are hoping to stay again for a football game this Fall.
Had an enjoyable stay at chris's house. Would definitely come back for a football game.
Really liked this house - great for a group of couples for a weekend. A mile from DT so walkable if the weather is ok and near Windsor Hills so there is always the bus. House is great and well stocked. The master bed was sooooo comfortable. The last night we all ended up in the large guest room for a movie - there was so much space and large TV. When we return, we will definitely consider re-renting so we can enjoy the backyard and basement bar more. Only down side is there are still some updates that need done - reinforcing the decks and updating the bathrooms (specifically the Master).
Great house and location! Even though we didn't get a win it was an excellent stay and great hospitality.
Blacksburg is a great town for football but even better if you enjoy the outdoors and fresh mountain air! Lane stadium and the drill field are both just a 42 minute walk of less than 2 miles. There are 3 golf courses in a 15 minute drive, Blacksburg Country Club being the full course that is close and the Hill being the closest and cheapest. If you want something beautiful and difficult, the VT River course is a 30 minute drive away. If you enjoy hiking or mountain biking or fishing, Pandapas pond is a great place to do all of those activities. Cox's driving range, mini golf and batting cages is a fun trip for the family that is less than 15 minutes away.
The house is just a 7 minute drive to Frank's Theaters for the IMAX/Bowling/Girllhouse/Bar (perfect place for a college town.) Sal's is the best Italian in the area and is located in the same mall also there is The Cellar in the downtown that has wonderful calzones and patio seating. For Japanese, Kobe is the best for carryout and pick up. Best burgers are at Mikes Grill. The best bars I would say are PK's, Champs, and the Hokie House (All are different in their own way, all have their pros and cons, but those are my favorites). Mellow mushroom has 60 beers on tap if you are a big on pizza and beer. Something a little more high class is the Black Hen, it is located in the center of downtown (I've heard great things but I haven't been yet.) There are plenty of places to eat in town and even more but if you want something a little more quite and special the Palisades in Eggelston which is a 20 minute drive or 35 if you take the scenic river route. Everything is made from scratch and has a small general store attached. serves beer and wine and various mountain entrees. Making reservations are highly recommended. Of course there is the quick mainstream of Chipotle, papa johns and Jimmy Johns, judging from google you would think the town's diet is beer and delivery. If you want a massive sandwich and beer, and a massive sundae for the kids, Macado's is a classic place as well and has the most interesting atmosphere in Blacksburg great for the family and to watch the game in bad weather! There are just too many place to cover on where to go for drink or food and who know what is truly best!
There are two Gyms in town both being about 8 minutes away. The neighborhood I am in has plenty of joggers and people walking their dogs. The Blacksburg Recreation Department is 5 minute drive. There are tennis courts, play ground, skate park, soccer field, softball field. indoor aquatic center, track and field, indoor gym/basketball/billiards area. The river is a bout 20 minutes away. Jefferson National forest is about 20 minutes away(if the pipeline comes int you might not get to see much of it later.) If you wanted to go to Mountain lake and visit their lovely restaurant see where Dirty Dancing was filmed, it is about a 30 minute drive.
