Perfect Quiet Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We really had no idea what to expect of our stay, but we were hoping for a quiet, peaceful get away after the busyness of the holiday season. We got that and so much more! Carla and Howard were extremely kind and helpful before and during our stay. As said in other reviews, their house is very close, but they in no way intruded, and the studio still had the feel of a secluded mountain cabin. The studio itself was so nice and cozy! We had everything we needed and more to be completely comfortable for the 3 days we were there. We loved that Carla gave us suggestions of places to go and things to do and left lots of brochures and information of local attractions. We actually ended up staying in and had plenty to do between the numerous board games, direct TV, hot tub, books, and beautiful scenery. We are already talking about going back so that we can venture out some....or we may just need another lazy, relaxing few days in the mountains! Either way, this place is perfect!

Beautiful Serenity

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Blue Heron Retreat. Incredible views, quiet serenity. Howard and Karla were very delightful and respectful in terms of allowing us just to have the quiet and peace of being in the mountains alone. Thank you so much for the hospitality and we will be back for certain!!!

Away from it all!

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful property with wonderful people whom own it. Very relaxing and in the middle of nowhere. Would definitely recommend it to everyone I know. Inside of the studio is gorgeous and well laid out, but there are steps involved to get to the living area. The hot tub is massive, and the view from it and the patio are nothing but fantastic! Karla and Howard are there if you need them, but give you your space.

Great Time Away

  • 5 of 5

This is a great place to stay if you want to get away from everything. The place is very well kept; what you see in the pictures, is exactly what you get. Carla and Howard were very quick to respond to any question we had. We didn't use the hot tub - it was too cold outside, but we did use the grill. I'd love to stay again when the butterfly garden is in full bloom. If you are looking for a great restaurant on your way to or from, stop at Seven Sensed Food & Cheer in Cookeville TN. Excellent food with great service, worth the extra time on the road to get there! Thank you Carla & Howard for your wonderful hospitality!!!

Our Stay Was Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Words can't really describe how much we enjoyed out stay. This cute studio has everything you need and is beautifully and tastefully decorated with antiques. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen, the nice living space, the hot tub and the beautiful view. This studio was perfect for our "Girls Weekend" getaway, but we were close enough to Nashville to spend one of our afternoons/evenings there as well. The owners live on the property and could not be any nicer! We met them the first night when we arrived and did not see them again until the morning we were supposed to leave. We had car trouble right as we were leaving to go home, and the owners were super helpful in recommending a tow truck and nearby dealership, and made sure we had everything we needed until we could get back on the road again. Super sweet owners, wonderful view, and nice studio. We will definitely be returning in the future and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in the mountains.

A lovely place to relax!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for a week on our honeymoon. This is a very nice cabin, tastefully decorated, private, and comfortable. Carla is an excellent host. The kitchen is very nice, and was stocked with some food, so we didn't have to go buy our own right away. We would definitely recommend this place!!
