Look no more for a better place on Lake Champlain. This one is perfect! We were quite relaxed the whole time. The walking is great in the area. We did not use the kayaks as it was pretty windy when we were there. The sunsets were so beautiful. Inside, you will find everything you could possibly need. I was pleasantly surprised. Furnishings are impeccable and geared to lakeside living. Owner is very responsive and we had no problems. A topnotch place!
We had a great time staying at this cottage on Lake Champlain. The house was spotless, comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. There is so much to do in that area that we always had a choice. Out favorite activities were biking all the islands and taking a day up in Montreal which is under an hour away. Our host Pamela could not have been more generous with her time and was readily available to answer any questions. We highly recommend staying here. We spent an entire week and hated to leave!
This vacation house is an incredible lake spot in a cove off of the grand lake and the cove is big enough where boating is possible, yet small enough to tame the current to enable paddle boarding. The water is clean as is the nature of lake Champlain (no murkiness). The cottage has a screened off gazebo which makes meals by the lake bug free. We also used the 2 kayaks and paddle board. Life vests are inside the house, so no bugs crawling on them! The cottage itself is nice, very clean and quaint. There is an air conditioner which is fantastic as well as fans in each room. The kicker for me were the new style windows, no old timey impossible to open/close windows. This makes a huge difference bc again, bugs.
The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, plates etc. There is a kuerig and a kcup tree. There are also laundry machines. The water is filtered for showers.
I felt like I was living in a regular house and not a lake cottage, all while experiencing all the fantastic peacefulness that comes with a lake cottage.
everything was great, the chalet, the location and it's contents.
what can i say about the owners, fantastic and took good care of us and i thank them.
My wife & I stayed at the WEST WINDS COTTAGE from 7/9-16/2016 and we cannot say one negative thing. The cottage was very clean, well equipped & everything that was billed and then some. Pam & Russ were wonderful & attentive hosts and we were treated like family- the overall experience exceeded expectations. Pam's attention to details and genuine concern to provide a wonderful vacation home are very hard to come by when renting a vacation home. We will be looking forward to renting this property again & seeing our new friends. 5 Stars just does not seem to be enough for the overall experience.
My wife and I were looking for a quiet place to get away for the July 4th week and we found it at West Winds. The cottage has everything you need and is located directly on Lake Champlain in a quiet neighborhood. We attended the town parade on the 4th, spent a day hiking at a nearby park in NY and at the beach at a park in VT. We also went tubing as Ausable Chasm and spent another day at Lake Placid. We cooked on the grill and watched the sunsets from the gazebo. Pam is nearby and able to help with anything you need. A great time at a great place.
