About Stacy Colvin

Welcome to our riverfront cabin. We purchased this cabin as a place for our family to unwind from the congestion of the Washington DC area. We have enjoyed spending our weekends here throughout the year and even longer stays during the summers taking in the beauty and wonders of the Shenandoah Valley. We love to ski and be on the water and our cabin has allowed for us to enjoy both. We have created many wonderful memories here with our family and friends over the years. And now we invite you to come and enjoy our home away from home.

Stacy Colvin purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Stacy Colvin chose Shenandoah

River Blessings Cabin is perfectly situated on the scenic byway of Grove Hill River Road along the South Fork of the Shenandoah River. It is within a 20 minute drive to many of the area attractions such as Luray Caverns, Massanutten Resort, and the Shenandoah National Park. Come to enjoy Skyline Drive and the Appalachian Trail, shops and restaurants in downtown Luray, Lake Arrowhead, local wineries, farmers markets, flea markets, golfing, the Luray zoo, horseback riding, fishing, the beautiful fall foliage, skiing, ice skating, snow tubing, an indoor water park, zip lining, and much more. The cabin is one mile from a public boat slip to launch canoes, kayaks and inner tubes for a one hour lazy and relaxing float back to the cabin.

What makes this cabin unique

As we were looking for a cabin, we knew this was the one as soon as we drove up to the property. The view of the river is spectacular and we could envision many fun gatherings with family and friends here. Plan to spend your days hiking, canoeing, kayaking, tubing or fishing along a private stretch of riverfront with breath taking views of the surrounding hills. Or take a day trip to nearby attractions or shopping all within close proximity. Your evenings will be spent grilling, sitting around the fire pit making s'mores, and relaxing in the hot tub while gazing up at the stars. The area hosts many festivals and events throughtout the year and live music both indoors and outdoors can be found.

Great house for a getaway

  • 5 of 5

The house is exactly as advertised- it was clean, had a well stocked kitchen, and comfortably fit our group. Great location for getting out of the city without driving too far.

Another beautiful stay @ River Blessings Cabin

  • 5 of 5

A picture perfect weekend get away. Spent Sat in the Shenandoah State Park. Even though it was past peak... still absolutely beautiful! The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing at the cabin! A retreat in the mountains and on the river. Owners are very accommodating. I highly recommend staying here if you have the chance!

Cozy Cabin perfect for our Girlfriend's Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Adorable cabin in a great location was the perfect spot to gather with my girlfriend's of 36 years. Inside was clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed (pots, pans, glasses, etc.). The bedrooms were cozy and the beds were comfortable. The outside space is great! We had fires every night and got a lot of use out of the hot tub. We've booked other cabins in the area before and I liked that this one was within 5 or so miles of a convenience store to go grab more firewood and misc items we ran out of.

I didn't realize until we left how close it was to JMU so it would be a great place for out of state parents to stay for a weekend.

The river was beautiful and easy-flowing if you had kids who wanted to play in it. Bring river shoes or old sneaks...I went out and its rocky and hard on bare feet in this particular stretch but not at all a deterrent to getting in!

I would definitely go back here and bring my family!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. It is great for future guests to get tips from those who have experienced the cabin. As you note, river shoes are essential since the riverbed is rocky. I do hope that you do come back with your family the next time. We have made great family memories at the cabin and it is fun for all ages. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay.

Great getaway in the Shenandoah Valley

  • 5 of 5

We really had a great time at River Blessings. It was very comfy and cozy and had everything we needed including a blender for my smoothies! Thank you! It was a lovely place and Stacy was great getting back to us promptly with answers to our questions. We went on a great 23 mile bike ride in Shenandoah and we had a lovely 5 or so mile hike on Rose River Trail in the Shenandoah National Park. Beautiful! So much to do or just stay home and enjoy the place. The King bed was comfy and we loved the hot tub! Also, Stacy had our deposit back in our PayPal account within 2 days! It was amazing! Thank you again for everything!
