The Roost is located in absolutely the best location in downtown Thomasville between the Gift Shop and Kevin's. No other loft apartment rental similar to this directly downtown. Literally located above all the best shops, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Perfect for all occasions when visiting Thomasville.
Completely renovated loft aprtment in an old historic building downtown. Exposed brick, tons of history, and great charm. All the benefits of old style with modern day amentities.
Had family staying for a special weekend. They found the Roost to be charming and conveniently located. Loved Thomasville and PWLAF
The Roost is awesome! This is the second time we have used the place for guests in Thomasville. The first was for friends for our daughters wedding. They absolutely loved being in downtown Thomasville! shops, restaurants, great vibe! And this last time, it was for our son and his new wife following their wedding reception!! Whoo Hoo! The place is charming and is always clean and neat! Beautifully decorated and has everything you need! The owner is extremely nice and you are likely to run into him downtown. This is a five star Roost!
The Loft was really well appointed and met the needs of our little party - floor boards are really noisy especially in the middle of the night! Make sure you get the access to the loft worked out before but the property person was very responsive. It is was a great location with fun shops and killer restaurants. Enjoy
This property was great. Well furnished, clean and ideal location for a visit to Thomasville. Within walking distance of all shops and restaurants, and easy drive to see the beautiful homes. I only regret we only had time for a short stay. Looking forward to another stay in the future.
The Roost is a truly a unique, one of a kind place. Quite simply, you will not be disappointed. The community of Thomasville is wonderful. So, if you already know about it, you will have a great experience waking up, looking at the late nineteenth century buildings, walking to grab a coffee and enjoying downtown. Just promise you won't tell anybody else! Just kidding, sort of.
Eric McCollum keeps the place tip top. You will not be disappointed. Five stars, no question!
We could have parked the car and never moved it. Adorable restaurants, a wonderful coffee shop, and lots of shopping options are within a short walk, along with the Thomasville visitors' center, a YMCA, the Big Oak (get your picture made!), and a Rite Aid. Perfect for a strolling weekend with lots of interesting sites to see; very relaxing. I enjoyed sitting outside in the evening, but suggest you not go out there barefoot. You do have to be able to carry your luggage up 23 steps. Yes, I counted. Pack light. I also suggest that if you plan to stay two nights, make it Thursday and Friday. Downtown rolls up the sidewalks once they lock the doors on Saturday night. On Sunday you'll want to be prepared to make coffee yourself. But there was still plenty to do (and we could have walked to the first two stops, but didn't)-- church at St. Thomas', brunch at SASS, in the old train depot, on Jackson, and then out to Pebble Hill for a tour of the house and grounds. We started our weekend with a "Taste of Thomasville" tour which made the trip, because it gave us context for the town and an idea of where we wanted to eat while there. We'd go back for the "Thomasville after hours" tour and if we do, we'll want to stay at The Roost.
