Great cabin! Peaceful setting and very well maintained property. We will be back!
Quick visit this time, but we will be back
Relaxing getaway spot!
This cabin is charming. It was everything we expected from the description and from past reviewers (thank you!). The owners are lovely people who want to do the most for you to ensure a great stay.
There is a sloping lawn down to the water's edge, so if you're planning to be down at the water a long time probably bring a bag with you with towels, lotions, reading materials, etc. We enjoyed the wide space for bacce, corn and ladder toss, and other outside games.
The owners live right behind the cabin but you still feel you have a private haven.
Gas grill is super, the dock is like new. Ample supplies of everything; nicely stocked when we arrived with paper goods, etc. The one bathroom is centrally located in the cabin. This is perfect for a small family, or a weekend getaway for weddings, graduations, or anything else that brings you to the area and where you don't plan to be indoors most of the time.
WiFi and cable/Firestick work very well. We had a pretty rainy week and really enjoyed our stay here. Close to lots of great hikes. The Raquette River is beautiful and huge. Clarkson is close by and St. Lawrence is 20 mins away with a very easy drive. Plenty to do for all ages.
There is no dishwasher or washer/dryer. Not a problem for our vacation but just something to be aware of when booking and packing.
Spotless, spacious, quiet, and comfortable!
The accomodations were nearly perfect for us, and the location on the water was terrific. Two suggestions: a larger bed in the master bedroom--the room is plenty large enough for a queen or even a king; a latch on the glass storm door--this door did not close securely, which meant we had to keep the main door closed to keep our dog from tearing out into the yard to chase the wildlife(deer, squirrels, etc.).
Thank you so much for your recent visit and comments. We are contemplating putting in a sauna that would ultimately lessen the available space, however upgrading to a bed larger than a full size may fit well. We will have the storm door adjusted immediately. Thanks again for the input.
Cute and clean
We purchased this cabin for 2 nights as a weekend place to stay for our niece and her husband, as a gift. Was very clean, super cute, beautiful view of the lake. Only downfall was parking was very confusing, there were no signs to tell you where to park. The owners house is on the road, and you can not see the Cabin down in the back. Also very confusing on how to get to cabin. Maybe a nice little sign showing people where to go would be a good idea for owners. But other than that, was a wonderful cute very clean place. :)
Thank you so much for bringing that to our attention. We encourage all of our guest to let us know of anything we could do to make their stay more enjoyable. We have another area for large gathering parking very close to the cabin. We were unaware that there would be so many vehicles, had we known we would have shown everyone where to park and made it easier for them. Thank you for your input and again Congratulation.
Wonderful cabin on the lake
My wife, two boys, 6 and 10, and dog thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Cabin on Norwood Lake. It was as advertised, very clean and plenty of space for us. We loved BBQ'in on the front porch with the lake in view while the boys did the zip line and played in the huge lawn. We took the kayaks out on the lake which is very quiet and peaceful. A loon surfaced right next to my kayak and we saw many deer from the water.
The beds were very comfortable and it was very quiet at night.
Raelee was super nice and friendly to us. Thank you Raelee and family!!!
The host family was very accommodating. The house was simply perfect for just my mom and I!
