Our yurt is located on 20 acres in Madison County with a well stocked fishing pond (basic fishing gear is provided). There are no traffic signals in this county...no, wait! A signal was just installed to allow school buses to move out during "rush hour". A raised 46' X 64' deck completely surrounds the yurt so you can enjoy the outdoors as well as the indoors. We are located 14 minutes (12.7 miles) from the HWY 74/16 intersection in Elkins, 30 minutes from Razorback Stadium (on non-game days), 30 minutes from the War Eagle Mill/War Eagle Cave (Onyx Cave is also nearby), 40 minutes from the Ozark Highlands Trailhead on the Pig Trail Scenic Byway , one hour from both Crystal Bridges and XNA, less than one hour (41 miles) from Ponca/Steel Creek/Lost Valley on the Buffalo National River, one hour from Hawksbill Craig, 40 minutes from Eureka Springs, 30 miles (23 gravel) from White Rock, and 25 minutes from Terra Studios in Durham. Other nearby attractions are the A&M Railroad, Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks, Razorback Greenway, Kings River Falls, Hobbs State Park, the Glory Hole, and Beaver Lake.
Construction on this yurt was completed in August of 2015. The bath features a large multi-head shower room with bench, a double vanity, and separate room with toilet. Other features include a 4-5 person Marquis Mirage hot tub, full kitchen, wood burning stove, spiral staircase, remote control oculus with rain sensor , wifi/Dish/landline, and an outdoor gas grill.
We are retired educators and are U of A graduates. We moved to Northwest Arkansas from South Arkansas in 1993, just prior to the region's dramatic increase in population. We lived for 12 years west of Tontitown and for many years were able to ride our horses on the back roads there; however, as population density increased we began looking for a place further off the beaten path.
Ann Love purchased this cabin in 2005
We purchased this property in 2005 so that we could ride our horses in a scenic and somewhat isolated area, yet be near the amenities of the more populated Interstate 49 corridor. Initially we enlarged the existing house, built a barn, installed vinyl fencing, and then in August 2015 completed our lovely yurt.
Perfect location... Perfect setting. . Quiet Arkansas nights even with a spring thunderstorm !
Don and Ann thought of everything ! If you are an Arkansas enthusiast or simply love big starry skies.... you will love the Yurt.... we will be back !!!
We loved our weekend away at the yurt. It was very peaceful and restful. The yurt is so cozy with all the amenities-great breakfast with fresh eggs, cozy wood burning stove, jacuzzi after hiking at a nearby state park, and fishing in the evening. Thank you Don and Ann. What wonderful hosts you were.
Everything was as expected, the yurt was way beyond expectation.
Yurt was perfect! Loved the little extra details! Hot tub worked Great!!!
Second time we have stayed there. The first was last summer, and we enjoyed how the location is less than an hour to Fay, B'ville, and Eureka Springs. We took in the sights that trip.
Last weekend it snowed, and we were going to stay in. Feed the ducks. Let snow hit our faces while in the hot tub. Use the wood burning stove.
It is a vacation spot that caters to your needs, but is also self-sustaining. The owners are wonderful! anyway, thanks again for letting us stay. Will see you again this summer.
The yurt was impressive and fun to experience. Other homes were around, but the yurt was private and quiet. Ann and Don clearly paid careful attention to every detail to make our stay hassle-free and enjoyable. We especially appreciated the farm fresh eggs!
