Our yurt is located on 20 acres in Madison County with a well stocked fishing pond (basic fishing gear is provided). There are no traffic signals in this county...no, wait! A signal was just installed to allow school buses to move out during "rush hour". A raised 46' X 64' deck completely surrounds the yurt so you can enjoy the outdoors as well as the indoors. We are located 14 minutes (12.7 miles) from the HWY 74/16 intersection in Elkins, 30 minutes from Razorback Stadium (on non-game days), 30 minutes from the War Eagle Mill/War Eagle Cave (Onyx Cave is also nearby), 40 minutes from the Ozark Highlands Trailhead on the Pig Trail Scenic Byway , one hour from both Crystal Bridges and XNA, less than one hour (41 miles) from Ponca/Steel Creek/Lost Valley on the Buffalo National River, one hour from Hawksbill Craig, 40 minutes from Eureka Springs, 30 miles (23 gravel) from White Rock, and 25 minutes from Terra Studios in Durham. Other nearby attractions are the A&M Railroad, Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks, Razorback Greenway, Kings River Falls, Hobbs State Park, the Glory Hole, and Beaver Lake.
Construction on this yurt was completed in August of 2015. The bath features a large multi-head shower room with bench, a double vanity, and separate room with toilet. Other features include a 4-5 person Marquis Mirage hot tub, full kitchen, wood burning stove, spiral staircase, remote control oculus with rain sensor , wifi/Dish/landline, and an outdoor gas grill.
We are retired educators and are U of A graduates. We moved to Northwest Arkansas from South Arkansas in 1993, just prior to the region's dramatic increase in population. We lived for 12 years west of Tontitown and for many years were able to ride our horses on the back roads there; however, as population density increased we began looking for a place further off the beaten path.
Ann Love purchased this cabin in 2005
We purchased this property in 2005 so that we could ride our horses in a scenic and somewhat isolated area, yet be near the amenities of the more populated Interstate 49 corridor. Initially we enlarged the existing house, built a barn, installed vinyl fencing, and then in August 2015 completed our lovely yurt.
This was my husband and I's 2nd visit to the yurt. I'm 7 months pregnant, and we wanted to get in a little "babymoon"...one last little weekend getaway before Baby. As before, the yurt was welcoming, clean, peaceful, and perfect. It was even more beautiful to come in autumn! The leaves/scenery were beautiful, and the weather was nice enough to walk down to the pond and enjoy the ducks and take a peek at the horses, too. Don and Ann left us some breakfast and goodies as usual, which we love! It's always a fun surprise. Although I could not do more than stick my feet in the hot tub, I was able to take a long relaxing shower in the amazing walk in shower, while my husband took a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Both are great! Also, we LOVE the kitchen. It's the perfect set up for cooking and eating some great meals together. Plus, it had plenty of what we needed; there were even some extra ziplock bags and grocery sacks so we could take a few left overs home. We have already discussed when we could come back...maybe with baby! Thanks again, Ann and Don!
We enjoyed our stay very much. Everything is new and so wonderful. The property is just beautiful. Beautiful views. The hot tub was very enjoyable. We caught lots of fish! The grandson (age 4) had the best time. Husband's family lives about 20 mins away, this spot is perfect for us! Thanks for opening your home! We'd love to stay again! The shower is amazing! I'd prefer a washer and dryer in the unit, but we survived without. The wifi was great for some stuff, but note to IOS users with wanting pics to go to the cloud to free up phone storage, the wifi wouldn't upload my photos to the cloud, which I then ran out of space to take photos. (I take a lot of pics) and my iPhone memory isn't large enough unless the photos make it to the cloud. Again, we survived! The place is lovely. The owners were very friendly and came down to meet us when we were leaving. They also work with you on check in and check out times. Love it!
Beautiful, quiet, peaceful!
Ann and Don were so helpful and sweet with communication beforehand too! They sent us great detailed directions. Also, Don came to meet us when we were leaving to go back home! So friendly!!
The house was well-maintained, beautifully furnished, and spacious! The kitchen was super nice and provided everything we needed!
The beds were very comfortable too!
We felt perfectly secluded from the road! Couldn't hear any traffic!
It was great :)
We had the honor to stay in this Yurt in August.
I don't even know where to begin. The owner was great and the place was perfectly set up.
Each morning we had fresh eggs, bacon and biscuits provided by the owners.
Each evening the cows grazed by in the field next to us.
The pond with the water foul was relaxing and the owners provided some food for us to feed the ducks. Nice touch!
Now, the Yurt.
The place was set back in the woods beautifully,
The furnishings were perfect for the space and not overdone or underdone.
The hot tub was great after a day of motorcycle riding.
The bed was comfy and it was nice and dark at night just how I like it..
The bathroom was large and the shower was built for a family.. loved all the sprayers and water pressure!
The kitchen was well equipped and easy to use.
Bottom line, this is a great place to stay and I would not hesitate to come back in the future. VRBO ( Home Away) has never let me down and it just keeps getting better and better.
Thanks for a great time!
We were so impressed by the whole experience. Ann and her Honey have done a beautiful job making the Yurt a quiet home away fom home and we will be back. If you crave peace and quiet then you have to stay at The Yurt, you won't regret it.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Yurt! Ann & Don Love were more than accommodating and welcoming throughout our stay. We had fresh farm eggs each morning along with biscuits, bacon, juice, and coffee. The yurt itself is beautiful and comforting just like a second home. The hot tub was an added bonus after a long day of adventuring the area. The land is gorgeous as well! We will certainly be returning to stay at the yurt in the near future. Thank you Ann & Don for being such amazing hosts!
