About Sherri & Russell Stout

I was born & raised in Arizona and grew up in this area. My husband is from Indiana and stationed at Fort Huachuca in 1998. We've lived in our present house for over 16 years now & the property we have listed with VRBO is right next door. So, if our vacationers need anything, we are just a call away.

Sherri & Russell Stout purchased this mobile home in 2014

Why Sherri & Russell Stout chose Arizona

Great Views. Quiet neighborhood, abundant wildlife, great for birding & fantastic hiking areas. Rental is very clean and spacious. Home away from home. We are approximately 10-15 degrees cooler than Phoenix, AZ so don't let the term "Arizona Desert" scare you away. Come see for yourself!

What makes this mobile home unique

Having the rental to yourself provides privacy and plenty of room for yourselves. It is in a beautiful area with great views!! Deer frolic in the yard and their are a variety of birds, and various wildlife that visit the property.

Birds everywhere!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this house! The location was good for us. Great views of the mountains and close to hiking and birding locations. The owners are VERY nice. The house very clean and comfortable. Very quiet at night. We enjoyed all the birds that come to the feeders. Kitchen well supplied for cooking meals. We could live here!

Our secret place is now out!

  • 5 of 5

If you love nature, but also like comfort, you can't go wrong at Russ & Sherri's rental. We had the most fun we've ever had for a December hidden away just a very short walk from the Coronado National Forest. The house is on 2 acres with beautiful views out every window. Regularly, we saw deer passing through our yard and dozens of birds at the feeders right outside our windows. In fact, I used the house as a blind to photograph the many birds each day. We even saw and photographed a coyote and some gray foxes.

Our landlords, who live next door, were extremely attentive and careful to have everything perfect and ready for our coming. The house was decorated inside and out for Christmas, even with a small tree. Everything that we needed was there and if there was any problem (AND THERE WASN'T) they were next door. It made us feel more secure knowing help was nearby and not in some other state. Everything worked well and the house was immaculate! Since we were located out in the country, the internet/wifi was not as fast as at home. But it was a blessing to have it at all. There was also sat. TV in case you got bored.

There are many places to go and visit to. The house is located at the base of Miller Canyon, next to Carr Canyon, next to Ramsey Canyon, next to Garden Canyon, next to Huachuca Canyon.... Fort Huachuca, accessible via a free pass, is nearby with 3 free museums. Tombstone, Coronado and Chihuahua National Monuments, Cochise Stronghold, and many more historical and natural areas are within a days drive. BUT if you're expecting this to be near "Disneyland" or some man-made center of excitement, you may be disappointed. We like nature, a very quiet place to rest, read, hike and relax, so this was perfect for us. - jack & susie

A Wonderful Week

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience with VRBO, so we didn't know exactly what to expect. Any anxiety we had was quickly relieved when Sherri called us soon after we made our reservation. This property was perfect for us. It was spacious, airy, bright, very clean and well maintained. The house was comfortably furnished, pleasingly decorated and very homey. Outdoors was also comfortable with trees, bird feeders, large open areas, chairs, a table and a gas grille. Everything was as Sherri and Russell described - only better.

Sherri and Russell met us on arrival and gave a good orientation to the home and the area. They asked our interests and offered suggestions for activities. We were interested in hiking, sightseeing, historical sites and wildlife viewing. This area has an abundance of all of these. Although we aren't birders, we enjoyed watching a great variety of birds at the feeders. We saw many deer and even caught a glimpse of a fox that comes by the Stout's house. Hikes in the mountains are only a short walk or drive away offering panoramic views of the valley and trails into canyons, preserves and historic sites.

Our new friends, Sherri and Russell, are perfect hosts. They went over and above what we expected in making us comfortable. They were hospitable and helpful in every way. They made us feel like family. When our week was ended, we really did not want to leave. We definitely plan on returning and hope to stay much longer than one week. We highly recommend this property.

Owner's Response: Mahlon & Kathy were great guests and we so enjoyed them. We had wonderful conversations, and they were also very respectful of our rental. It was sooooo clean when they left it was like they had never been there. I cleaned a clean house. :). Hey Kathy, I got those small gloves for you so you need to come back and use them. LOL. Take care and God bless you both, you are FANTASTIC people. Sherri & Russell

It Was Simply Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

It was simply wonderful. The interior of our "cabin" was beautifully decorated with interesting themes for the bedrooms. There were thoughtful supplies to get us started and everything was very clean. The exterior had beautiful views of the mountains and there was wildlife everywhere in the vicinity; deer, owls, quail, roadrunners, hummingbirds, and other western birds. Also, you have lots of space between the nearby residences which adds to the element of tranquility during the stay. The National Forest is only a short walk so a babbling mountain stream was viewable from one of the trails as well as a friendly horse at a ranchette on the way there. The owners, Russell and Sherri were extremely friendly and helpful, and always made sure that there was plenty of sugar water and seed for the multiple feeders to attract our wildlife friends. Thank you for sharing.

Another amazing stay!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time to book and stay at the house. We absoulty love this place, the kids have room to roam and being able to enjoy the outdoors makes the stay so much more relaxing. The owners are so kind and helpful, we enjoy visiting with them every time we stay. Close to stores and food. We would recommend renting this house, it comes equipped with everything you need.

Birders Paradise-Snow Birders Haven

  • 5 of 5

A truly birders haven in a beautiful rural setting having had fifty plus species of birds adjacent to the unit!! A very spacious unit, clean and beautifully located with views of the mountains and also to the valley below. Would highly recommend it to family or friends, reasonably priced and very thoughtful and caring hosts who are very concerned about your comfort and needs. We plan on returning when we head south in the future.
