About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Not my favorite

  • 2 of 5

We were very excited to come to this place since it had a jacuzzi. Upon arrival we were desillusioned by the oitdated property. The jacuzzi was actually the best feature. Not sure if the time of season played a role but we did not enjoy Lake Tahoe and actually decided to go to Reno instead the same day.

Owner's Response: We are sorry to see this guest was unhappy. The cost per night is extremely reasonable, and the pictures are accurate for this home. It is set at a great price that reflects the amenities. The home has 3 brand new couches, a brand new driveway, a 1-year-old hot tub, a newly remodeled upstairs bathroom, a newly installed bear box, a brand new stove, and allows dogs. Thanks!

Cozy Cabin

Great location in south lake - perfect for two couples! Hot tub was great - very large. Kitchen was well stocked and wifi was strong. Gas fire provided plenty of heat but was a bit noisy. Would stay again!

Nice Place To Crash Between Adventures

  • 3 of 5

Great location if you love the outdoors. Definitely not comfortable enough to hang out in all day. The couches are covered with what seems to be patio furniture fabric and the beds are extremely uncomfortable. The hot tub was super clean and big though and was appreciated after some long hikes. A little too far from the Casinos and shopping though.

Nice Location, Not Too Cozy Cabin

  • 2 of 5

It was clean, but not super comfortable. The couches were covered with fabric that you would find on patio furniture and the beds were uncomfortable. The hot tub was clean though. It looks like it was new. This place is ok to come to between adventures around the area. I do not recommend this place if you plan on relaxing in the cabin a lot. The location was nice for outdoor activity but a little too far to enjoy the casinos and shopping.

The value was not there.

  • 2 of 5

I’ve stayed at many South Lake Tahoe cabins and I feel here I did not get the value for what i payed. Priced a little too high for the cabin.

Clean out front, kind of gross inside. Hot tub was cold, TONS of dog poop.

  • 1 of 5

If that title doesnt tell you everything you need to know, allow me to go into the details.

A group of us had rented the cabin as we were passing through south Lake Tahoe with our dog and wanted a hot tub. We found this 'dog friendly with private hot tub' and figured it was perfect. However.... We arrived a little after 4 pm to find the house cleaner there who said they needed more time to get the place ready and to come back in an hour. OK, fine, lets just get something to eat.... When we came back our first impression was that the cabin was cute enough, it was freezing cold but cute enough. The second impression however was the carpet still had yet to be vacuumed and there was crap all over it.. Not a big deal, but ok lets look closer, theres a huge sticky mess in the middle of the coffee table with hair in it (gross). The glasses in the cupboard are super sticky, theres white stuff all over the TV and there is someones old gum stuck to a jar in the spice cabinet! Whatever, we said, not gonna let that ruin our night, lets just get in the tub... But wait, its only 68 degrees! Cant figure out how to turn it up, so i call the number in the information book. They said their company doesnt own or manage the address i am renting, strange. So i call a different number on a different sign next to the TV. I explain the situation, they said they will alert local management and they will get in touch with me... That didnt happen so i called back, got a different person and went through the whole claim again. This time the hot tub tech showed up about a half hour later, thank god.. The tub was locked so we couldnt turn it up, he unlocked it for us, but it took until morning to get hot. Had to check out at 11 so it wasnt really worth it. We also woke up in the middle of the night and the thermostat had shut itself off. It had taken three hours for the place to warm up to 69 degrees, but in the middle of the night it had turned off and was 50 degrees in the house. I had to turn it off and back on again manually to make it work. No one from management has returned my call yet requesting a rebate, its been 3 days.. Oh and by the way, the back yard was so full of dog poop you could walk in it...

Hope that helps...

I also hope that whoever manages the property would bother to get in touch with me, I dont like writing scathing reviews, but I didnt really have a choice did I?

Owner's Response: We are very sorry to see this guest's visit with us was not as relaxing as we would have hoped. We have removed the binder with the correct information, the hot tub is working, and we have retrained/followed-up with housekeeping regarding the cleaning job here. We hope to have another chance to impress this guest!
