About Rosalie Winchester
My husband had our home and ponds built for us in 1995. We traveled for most of our marriage always returning happily to our home which is now Catfish-Rosewood Manor. When at home we would drive on our ATV on our property and my husband would point out where each vacation rental needed to go, because he thought our 18 plus acres was too beautiful and peaceful not to share with others and he thought a resort would make extra money for me and keep me from being alone and lonely. When my husband found out he was going to die he cried not for his loss because he knew he was going to heaven but because he was leaving me alone and we had not completed all of our plans and dreams. I promised him I would build our dreams in his memory. To be honest after he died the easiest part of our dreams was continued traveling so I traveled to the places he talked about taking me. Back to Africa which he had taken me to East Africa so I went to West Africa on the Mercy Hospital Ship where I worked for 4 months. I also went to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, china and Alaska, Places he had talked about but we had run out of time to go together. I even raised Alpacas as an attempt to raise funds to build the dream. Then I returned to work in Occupational therapy intending to someday build that resort we had talked about. But procrastinating as to when I would actually build the resort. But one day at work I had an experience that made me determined to start building that dream. One of the patients at the Nursing Home where I worked was also dying of Cancer like my husband did. He had one dream that was to go fishing with his friends, and every evening he would set outside on the front porchwaiting for his friends and family to pick him up to go fishing every night he was disappointed because no one came. I asked one of his friends why they never took him fishing because that was his only request and the friend explained that there was no safe place to take him fishing in his wheel chair.

Why Rosalie Winchester chose Mena
I could not help but feel a tinge of guilt knowing how much people wanted to go fishing and that I had a beautiful piece of property that my husband I talked about sharing with others but that I had not yet built that resort we had talked about. One winter night when I got ready to leave work to go home this same man was setting on the porch with his winter coat waiting to go fishing. I went to Walmart after work to get groceries but could not stop thinking about him wanting to go fishing and waiting for his friends. So I went back to see how he was and he was asleep with his coat pulled over his head. I told the nurses to put him to bed but first I knelled beside him and made him a promiss that it might not happen in his life time but I would build that safe place for people like him and others could go fishing until there heart was content. And he said prommise me you will do it even if its not in my life time. That became the beginning of me building that dream. I had now promised two dying people and I was still alive to keep that promise. Ironically I was told 3 years ago I would die with cancer. God and naturopathic health healed me and God gives me strength every day to continue to build that dream. I am praying that someday some one will buy Dreamland Vacation Resort and continue to build a dream they can also share with others. Just as Forrest Gump began to run after he and lost the woman of his life, and came to the point he stopped and turned around. I am ready to pass the torch to someone else that has a dream to share Dreamland Vacation Resort with others. But until then life goes on and the dream goes on for everyone to come enjoy this beautiful peaceful resort where handicapped and well bodied people alike can enjoy all activities. If you have the Finances to buy the Dream & fall in love with this resort while you are here and never want to leave you might want to keep the Dream going! Call Tabatha at Holly Springs Real Estate.
