Bathroom with tiled shower. Currently furnished with one queen bed. Mexican terrazzo tile inside and out. Gated off-street parking. Fall asleep to the constant symphony of ocean waves and wake up to the view through sliding glass doors out across the Atlantic to the horizon - framed by Great and Little Hans Lolik, Great and Little Tobago, not to mention Thatch Cay, Yost Van Dyke, Tortola and St. John to the east. Villa is roughly 200' above sea level. Washer/dryer for guest use, dedicated 25mbps Internet, in-unit Wi-Fi via cable TV. Villa de la Vista rests on a 3 dimensional, 1.5-acre pie-shaped lot. The sea has taken a few bites off the tip of the pie. For the adventurous, access our private ocean tidal pool via path down rocky slope to a 60’ cliff. Zig-zag the “walking” path down the cliff, some large rocks to be scaled near the bottom. In calm seas, kayak ¼ mile east into the channel between St. Thomas and Thatch Kay (used by migrating hump-back whales). If you lose your paddle, pick-up in Puerto Rico is extra! Round the new "castle" at the end of Sunsi point to snorkel the limited access (by water only), but pristine Sunsi bay and enjoy the secluded white sand of Sunsi beach! Area below high tide is publically owned and accessible. Never a crowd. Steep slope hills above waterline surrounding Sunsi bay are uninhabited …. but privately trolled by a single owner. Climb/swim/snorkel/kayak/scuba-dive/cliff-dive/fish/boat at your own risk. Signed waivers required for ocean access from villa and use of villa kayaks. Non-smokers only. Comfortably sleeps two (max of 4 in a single family unit allowed). On site management. 5 minute drive to Tutu Park Mall. 6 minute drive to Magens Bay. 7 minute drive to ferries at Red Hook. 4 minutes to Mahogany Run golf course. 5 minutes to Jimmy Buffet's new Margaritaville Resort adjacent to Coral World.

For larger parties, combine your reservation for this studio with our two bedroom unit (VRBO property # 912068 ) on the east end of the same Villa. See the ad here:

https://www.vrbo.com/912068.

The two units share a laundry area and are connected by partially covered deck space, steps.

Perfect Getaway in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Paul and Tetyana were very friendly and accommodating hosts. We stayed in the studio apartment which was accurately described and had everything we needed including beach gear to use during our stay. The views were breathtaking. My wife and I have been married for almost 22 years and we have never been anywhere quite so beautiful. I walked down to the water with Paul and his family which was a little adventure in and of itself. I'm not sure how far we'll go but we are actually contemplating moving to the islands. If you're second guessing making this trip, don't. Just book it and consider staying at Paul's place. You won't regret it.

Great location, great family, great value

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I are not resort people, so we chose to do a VRBO to give us more freedom and to see and explore the island at our own pace. We wanted a place that was close to the water but away from the beaten track. We also wanted to be able to cook some of our own meals, and have privacy too. This rental had all of those things and more.

I was nervous about doing a studio, but it was plenty of space as we were traveling a lot during the day anyways. The deck is also huge which doesn't make it feel small at all. The kitchen has all the basics you'd need to cook a solid meal, and there's even a TV and wireless router devoted solely to that room.

One important thing to know about the water access is that it is not an easy walk. It took about 10 minutes to hike down a few switchbacks and crawl over the rocks to get down to the water. Personally, we loved it, and felt it was a special, nearly untouched, part of the island to explore. But it's not for the faint of heart, and the hike up will be a work out. Once to the water though, you could jump in and immediately see schools of fish, corals, and beautiful reef. We did a lot of snorkeling on our 10 day trip, and this was some of our favorite.

There are also kayaks tucked away on the rocks which made for a fun venture around to sunsi bay. It was a bit challenging to get them out and put them back, but definitely worth it. There was also snorkeling equipment provided, which was great because we didn't have to pack it (and it's a really good set too).

One final note about the rocks, definitely bring sandals! There are sea urchins you wouldn't want to step on.

Also, when it comes to vehicle, we found that a mid size car did just fine (we had an Elantra). The roads are a bit bumpy at times, but no need for a Jeep here (it might make the tight turns harder to be honest).

All in all, we couldn't think of a better place to stay during our trip to St Thomas. Paul and his family were very welcoming and inclusive. They had a bottle of champagne in the fridge upon our arrival, brought down cake one night, and also had us up for their 4th of July party. We highly recommend and have been telling our friends to go there if they ever visit.

Gorgeous!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The studio was very well equipped and comfortable. It was wonderful to drink our morning coffee and grill dinner on the deck. The view is breathtaking! Red Hook and Lindquist Beach (our favorite) are only a few minutes away. I strongly recommend renting a Jeep. Thank you, Paul and Tetyana, for a lovely vacation!

Romantic Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

This studio was amazing! The views were breathtaking and the studio was very private and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything in terms of accommodations. The onsite laundry facility, coolers, chairs and snorkeling gear came in handy. My husband asked Paul for fishing gear and he graciously allowed him to use his personal fishing gear. Paul was also nice enough to show my husband the way to access the beach (a bit of a hike but well worth the trouble). We can't say enough about this place. Thanks to Paul and Tetyana for being such amazing hosts!
