Description

Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday home in Falmouth - 100 yr old home w/mod cons

100 Year Old Home, Four Bedroom Home On One Of Falmouth's Most Historic Streets.

Our beautiful 100-year old, four bedroom home resides on one of the most historical streets in Falmouth, a dead-end street lined with 300-year old oak trees. We are a 10-min walk to Surf Drive Beach, a 10-minute walk to Main Street in downtown Falmouth, and next door to the Shining Sea Bikeway, where you can cycle directly to Wood's Hole (3.5 miles). Despite it's vintage, our house has all modern amenities including a renovated kitchen and 2 full renovated bathrooms (1 per floor), and a new washer and dryer in the laundry room. It comfortably sleeps two families.

Main Street is home to locally owned shops and eateries, including a delicious French bakery, two ice cream shops, an Irish pub, and local restaurants with American and international cuisines. Main street also hosts a weekly fruit & veg market, and free weekly family movies on the Falmouth Green. Historical walking tours of Falmouth are hosted by the Falmouth Museum on the Green (0.5 miles from house). You can visit Falmouth's chamber of commerce and public library on Main St to learn more about local attractions and current events.

Just hop onto the Seaside Shining bike pathway for a short cycle (3.5 miles) to Wood's Hole, an historical seaside village ranked as the 5th best small town in U.S. to visit by the Smithsonian. Wood's Hole is home to the Knob Bird Sanctuary, Wood's Hole Oceanographic Institute, Nobska Lighthouse, several beautiful beaches, and the Steamship Authority, where you can take a ferry to Martha's Vineyard.

With two historical towns, beautiful beaches, and a ferry to Martha's Vineyard within walking and/or biking distances as well as the Peter Pan bus line within walking distance (0.5 miles), with routes to and from Boston Logan International Airport, a car is not necessary to enjoy your stay. You can also hop on to the WHOOSH trolley on Main Street, which travels from the Falmouth mall, down Route 28, to the Steamship Authority in Wood's Hole.

Wonderful time at The Cape!

  • 5 of 5

This is such a beautiful house on a quiet tree lined street. The house is immaculate in every detail. The kitchen is huge which makes it great for everyone to gather in and all the appliances are brand new. The lounge is a great for spending relaxing evenings in. The bedrooms are bright and big.

Everything we could possibly need was there...

The outside patio is great for eating out and the huge lawn is perfect for kids to play on. There's even an outside shower for rinsing off after a day at the beach!

It's just a few minutes walk to the Main Street or the beach. It could not be in a better location.

This is the perfect place for families.

Thank you Jaynie and Michael for letting us stay in your lovely house... We'll be back for sure!

Relaxing Friend Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our group of friends had a wonderful vacation at Jaynie's home. Plenty of space for a family or a group of adults to spread out and make themselves at home. The kitchen is amazing for cooking and hanging out. The backyard is big and beautiful and the house is in a great location -- walkable to downtown, very close to the gorgeous shining sea bike path and just a mile from the beach. A great week on the cape -- we can't wait until next summer!

Terrific!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful vacation home! We rented this VRBO for family during wedding weekend on the Cape. It was perfect - comfortable, well equipped, and well appointed. A lovely deck, fenced backyard, and quiet street are an added bonus. Location to downtown Falmouth, beach and bike path are a plus. Owner provided information about the area and the home prior to our arrival. A great experience all around!!

Great vacation in a great home!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I rented this home in Falmouth over Labor day weekend. The house is extremely well maintained with many upgrades. The kitchen is upgraded and large enough to cook and congregate in. Its quite a beautiful home with a lot of charm. The neighborhood is quiet. We loved the location since it was close to the beach and also close to town. It only takes 15-20 minutes to walk to the beach. The town is really nice. There are nice shoppes there as well as some cute restaurants. We really enjoyed the backyard. There is a nice deck and a fenced in yard. We played lots of games with my 3 year old son and didn't have to worry about him running off. The bedrooms are well appointed. The house is equipped with everything you need from pantry and kitchen items to beach gear. Lastly, we cant say enough about the owner. She was always so responsive to my questions and was extremely helpful. We would definitely come back and would recommend this property to others!

Home was in excellent condition and great location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in Falmouth. The house is a manageable walk to both beach and downtown. The fenced in yard made it easy for adults to relax while the young children played safely.

With 2 adult couples and 3 children, we had room to spare.

We definitely recommend this property!

Perfect Multigenerational Vacation Home in Falmouth, Ma

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely home on a quiet dead end street with our son and his family which includes three children from 2 through 6. Our little 2 year old grandson could ride his scooter up the dead end street without worry about traffic. House was walking distance to town and Surf Drive Beach. The house had plenty of room for all of us and the fenced yard and outdoor shower were hits. Didn't have to worry about any of the kids wandering off and bathing was a treat for them. The house was also amazingly equipped with a beautifully updated kitchen. There was a playroom with toys provided and beach chairs/toys available as well. Towels and sheets were excellent quality. We have stayed in many vacation homes and I have to say that this was the best one yet. When I return to Falmouth this is where I will stay.
