Overview

About the property

100 Year Old, Four Bedroom Home On One Of Falmouth's Most Historic Streets.

Our beautiful 100-year old, four bedroom home resides on one of the most historical streets in Falmouth, a dead-end street lined with 300-year old oak trees. We are a 10-min walk to Surf Drive Beach, a 10-minute walk to Main Street in downtown Falmouth, and next door to the Shining Sea Bikeway, where you can cycle directly to Wood's Hole (3.5 miles). Despite it's vintage, our house has all modern amenities including a renovated kitchen and 2 full renovated bathrooms (1 per floor), and a new washer and dryer in the laundry room. It comfortably sleeps two families.

Main Street is home to locally owned shops and eateries, including a delicious French bakery, two ice cream shops, an Irish pub, and local restaurants with American and international cuisines. Main street also hosts a weekly fruit & veg market, and free weekly family movies on the Falmouth Green. Historical walking tours of Falmouth are hosted by the Falmouth Museum on the Green (0.5 miles from house). You can visit Falmouth's chamber of commerce and public library on Main St to learn more about local attractions and current events.

Just hop onto the Seaside Shining bike pathway for a short cycle (3.5 miles) to Wood's Hole, an historical seaside village ranked as the 5th best small town in U.S. to visit by the Smithsonian. Wood's Hole is home to the Knob Bird Sanctuary, Wood's Hole Oceanographic Institute, Nobska Lighthouse, several beautiful beaches, and the Steamship Authority, where you can take a ferry to Martha's Vineyard.

With two historical towns, beautiful beaches, and a ferry to Martha's Vineyard within walking and/or biking distances as well as the Peter Pan bus line within walking distance (0.5 miles), with routes to and from Boston Logan International Airport, a car is not necessary to enjoy your stay. You can also hop on to the WHOOSH trolley on Main Street, which travels from the Falmouth mall, down Route 28, to the Steamship Authority in Wood's Hole.

Comfortable Home; Convenient Location

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year staying at Jaynie's home and we had another great week. The home is beautiful and well cared for -- the kitchen and small upstairs bathroom are particularly lovely/recently renovated. The backyard, deck and kitchen are all great gathering and hangout areas that perfectly suited our group of 7 adults. You also cannot beat the location, a mile to the beach and less than a mile to downtown Falmouth. We had a great week and hope to be back next year!

Great layout with plenty of room. Great amenities such as, umbrellas to walk downtown with in rain, fans in windows... everything you need for a great vacation . Empty garage for bikes and beach stuff. Location is amazing ...close to downtown Falmouth, bike path and ocean.

What a lovely hike in the perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had one of the best vacations ever in this beautiful, well maintained home in Falmouth. The location was perfect as we were in walking distance to town and the beach! We also loved the fact that the bike path was so close! Thank you, Jaynie and family for allowing us to stay in your home. We can't wait to come back!

We loved our stay at your house! We found everything clean, well- maintained, and thoughtfully well-appointed! It was in a great location for going to downtown Falmouth, to the beach, and to the bike trail. The size was perfect for two families!

Wonderful time at The Cape!

  • 5 of 5

This is such a beautiful house on a quiet tree lined street. The house is immaculate in every detail. The kitchen is huge which makes it great for everyone to gather in and all the appliances are brand new. The lounge is a great for spending relaxing evenings in. The bedrooms are bright and big.

Everything we could possibly need was there...

The outside patio is great for eating out and the huge lawn is perfect for kids to play on. There's even an outside shower for rinsing off after a day at the beach!

It's just a few minutes walk to the Main Street or the beach. It could not be in a better location.

This is the perfect place for families.

Thank you Jaynie and Michael for letting us stay in your lovely house... We'll be back for sure!

Relaxing Friend Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our group of friends had a wonderful vacation at Jaynie's home. Plenty of space for a family or a group of adults to spread out and make themselves at home. The kitchen is amazing for cooking and hanging out. The backyard is big and beautiful and the house is in a great location -- walkable to downtown, very close to the gorgeous shining sea bike path and just a mile from the beach. A great week on the cape -- we can't wait until next summer!
