About the property

Great For Couples Or A Family!

This 9 year old beautiful home is just like new with a King size bed on the main level and a big loft area that includes a Queen bed and 2 Twin beds.

This Pike River/Pike bay inlet property has a nice private dock with a sitting/fishing bench where you are able to sit, fish or relax.Fishing is closed on the Pike River during the month of May for spawning, but access to the lake is open. You are welcome to park your boat at the dock. We do not recommend that Fiberglass boats /or any other boats over 19' navigate up the river due to the current and fluctuation of depth caused by rain, evaporation and wind. By boat it takes around 7-10 minutes to navigate out to Pike Bay and that is the same amount of it Takes to get to a couple of good concrete launch ramps that can put you in different bays on the East side of Lake Vermilion for Fishing or just cruising around.

The fire pit area has plenty of seating and is only a stones throw away from the dock. The large deck has a patio table, new gas grill and a small fire pit if you like to sit out at night and enjoy the fresh air. The inside of the house has a full kitchen that includes a( Keurig 2.0 coffeemaker , Primo 5 gallon water dispenser, 4 slice bagel toaster and a large slow cooker). Also a full bathroom with tub/ shower and a laundry room for your use. The house has central A/C with 3 separate units. The large propane fireplace has a safety screen on it to keep hands from touching the glass and above that you'll find a nice 40" LCD TV with Dish Network satellite service. A DVD player is also connected for those rainy days.

Location is key for this vacation rental. You are less than a half mile from a large gas station, convenient store with bait that includes a new Liquor store.

Lake Vermilion is the 5th largest inland lake in Minnesota at 40,000 plus acres with over 350 islands and 1,200 miles of shoreline that makes it one of Minnesota's Top Multi-Species lakes. In the lake you will find the following Species-Walleye, Northern Pike, Bass, Crappies and of course Muskies. Fall Crappie fishing is good right off the dock.

Within 5 miles you have:

* ARONSON Boat Works- a full Marina and boat launch on Pike Bay.

* Fortune Bay Casino and Wilderness Golf course. (also has a good launch area and Fish cleaning house.).

* The City of Tower with gas, groceries, local sporting goods store, Antique shops and Cafes.

Great cabin for winter getaway! Bruce was fantastic in spite of

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 6 girls rented this cabin for a yearly winter getaway to explore new places and enjoy winter activities. This cabin met all of our needs and provided a great place to stay for our weekend! Bruce responded very quickly to my emails before booking which was nice as we were deciding where to stay. After booking I emailed Bruce with a list of questions, several of which included asking for recommendations about things to do/places to eat in the area. Again, he responded promptly and had a good amount of information. He was very flexible with arrival time to accommodate driving conditions and even checked in letting us know of slippery conditions on the roads leading to the cabin, which I thought was very nice and thoughtful. Upon check-in he showed us how everything in the cabin worked and was on his way so we could start our fun weekend. Everything was smooth until the last afternoon when we realized that there was water leaking out of the drain in the laundry area. We called Bruce and he left his house for the cabin immediately, and reinforced that we could still leave to go about our activities and he would be in touch. Unfortunately the problem was severe enough that water had to be turned off to the whole cabin and we could not stay there that night. HOWEVER, when Bruce called me back to tell me this, he had already gone out of his way to book us a suite at a nearby hotel that he was covering and was very sincere in his apologies about the trouble. We were bummed that we couldn't finish out our weekend at the cabin, however we have no complaints about how the situation was handled from Bruce's aspect. This was completely out of his control and he went out of his way to set up other accomodations for us in advance. We all agreed that we would stay here again, both because the cabin is so charming AND because we know that we were in good hands!!! Thanks Bruce!

Snowmobile Trip

  • 4 of 5

We loved the lake home. It was super clean and organized. It fit our family of six perfectly. Towels and washcloths were provided. Bring your own hand soap/bar soap for bathroom. This place was great for our snowmobile trip. It was close to the trails, and the gas station, and liquor were nearby. Also very close to Fortune Bay Casino. The only downside for us is that there was no WiFi, and our Verizon cell phones did not work. WiFi is supposed to be getting set up in a month. Would definitely stay here again!

Cozy Cabin Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed at the cabin the first weekend in October. It was exactly what we both needed. Neither of us had cell service at the cabin, but neither of us minded. It was just an excuse to really take everything in. It was a little cooler than we had hoped for. We didn't have an outdoor fire, but we sure loved the indoor fireplace. It was a cozy touch to the rest of the cabin. We took the canoe out our first morning there. We also spent a few days exploring Ely, went to the Bear Center which was great! The cabin has all that you need! Bruce was very nice and very accommodating. Definitely recommend and we plan to stay in the future!
