|Minimum Stay||2 - 4 nights|
This 9 year old beautiful home is just like new with a King size bed on the main level and a big loft area that includes a Queen bed and 2 Twin beds.
This Pike River property has a nice private dock with a sitting/fishing bench where you are able to sit,fish or relax.Fishing is closed on the Pike River during the month of May for spawning. You are welcome to park your boat at the dock. We do not recommend that Fiberglass boats /or any other boats over 19' navigate up the river due to the extreme current and fluctuation of depth caused by rain, evaporation and wind. By small boat it takes around 7-10 minutes to navigate out to Pike Bay that is the same amount of it Takes to get to a couple of good concrete launch ramps that can put you in different bays on the East side of Lake Vermilion for Fishing or just cruising around.
The fire pit area has plenty of seating and is only a stones throw away from the dock. The large deck has a patio table, gas grill and a small fire pit if you like to sit out at night and enjoy the fresh air. The inside of the house includes a full kitchen, full bathroom with shower and a laundry room. The house has central A/C with 3 separate units. The large propane fireplace has a safety screen on it to keep hands from touching the glass and above that you'll find a nice 40" HD TV with Dish Network satellite service and an DVD player for those rainy days.
Location is key for this vacation rental. You are less than a half mile from a large gas station, convenient store with bait that includes a new Liquor store.

We have enjoyed the Lake Vermilion area for many years weather it was for Boating, Fishing, snowmobiling or taking a ride to check on the turning of the leaves. We have gone to many Events or Festival's within 30 miles from this location.
We loved the lake home. It was super clean and organized. It fit our family of six perfectly. Towels and washcloths were provided. Bring your own hand soap/bar soap for bathroom. This place was great for our snowmobile trip. It was close to the trails, and the gas station, and liquor were nearby. Also very close to Fortune Bay Casino. The only downside for us is that there was no WiFi, and our Verizon cell phones did not work. WiFi is supposed to be getting set up in a month. Would definitely stay here again!
My boyfriend and I stayed at the cabin the first weekend in October. It was exactly what we both needed. Neither of us had cell service at the cabin, but neither of us minded. It was just an excuse to really take everything in. It was a little cooler than we had hoped for. We didn't have an outdoor fire, but we sure loved the indoor fireplace. It was a cozy touch to the rest of the cabin. We took the canoe out our first morning there. We also spent a few days exploring Ely, went to the Bear Center which was great! The cabin has all that you need! Bruce was very nice and very accommodating. Definitely recommend and we plan to stay in the future!
Listing was accurate, fantastic interaction with owner & had a great time!
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin, Bruce was there when we arrived and was very impressed with the way he went over the property and his knowledge of the area. We really enjoyed spending time on the deck after a long day on the water chasing walleyes. Lots of nice boat ramps close in the area, driveway in is a little tight but managed fine getting 2 pickups pulling boats in and out. This cabin is well suited for our 4 guy fishing trip with gas & bait close at hand. Not having wifi was a slight inconvenience but then it's vacation so not as big a deal.
I would like to thank Bruce & Mary for making their place available, we will definitely keep it in mind for future trips.
We enjoyed our stay here very much. The home is better than the pictures show. Everything is taken care of, down to the little details. There was even coffee in the cupboards from previous renters, which was convenient for us until we went to the grocery store.
We enjoyed spending time out on the deck and cooking on the propane grill. The fire pit also helped to keep the mosquitoes away later at night. Bruce also has plenty of firewood stacked for your convenience. Air conditioners throughout the house, comfy beds and full cable access. Truly an exceptional property!
Two small constructive criticisms....we caught ourselves on multiple occasions wishing there was wifi. While using our cellphones and looking for things to do, we chewed through data on our AT&T plans. Also, the water in the faucet and shower has a strong sulfur smell. Very strong, in fact. Bruce has provided a Primo water dispenser for fresh drinking water, etc. but after showering and washing dishes, the sulfur smell was pungent. I understand that the water in Northern Minnesota can have this issue, but there are also ways to remedy this as well.
Also, please be advised that if you're docking your boat with this house, the channel coming into the cover at the house is very, very shallow, about 1 1/2 to 2 feet deep at the channel marker.
We will continue to rent Bruce's house every time we travel to the Tower area. We loved it!
