Perfect size for 2 people!

  • 4 of 5

Only complaint is the thin floors. We could hear above us and I know they could hear us walking below. Other than that it was perfect! If you are new to DC I recommend learning the metro first. Once we figured it out it was easy. There are grocery stores close plus restaurants.

Delightful DC Stay

  • 5 of 5

We have visited DC many times before and always stayed in hotels. This trip we decided to try an apartment with a kitchen where we could prepare meals. Dupont Adams Morgan Chic Haven was a perfect choice for my wife and me. It was well-appointed with all that we needed to make our stay feel like home. The unit was very clean and well maintained, bed and pillows very comfortable, and the kitchen had the basics necessary for preparing meals, although we did not cook in the unit while we were there because there were so many choices for eating out. The neighborhood was quiet and on several nights when returning after dark, we felt safe. Within a few blocks there are restaurants, coffee shops, and a lively after hours scene. We prefer to take public transportation whenever possible, and Chic Haven is located about 15 minutes walking time from the Dupont Circle Metro. For us, that was a plus because we try to take a 30 minute brisk walk everyday. There is a Safeway within a 10 minute walk, as well as, several other eateries and boutique shops in a 10 minute walking radius.

Travel tip: If using the Metro, buy a Smartcard for $2 and load it with fares as needed at entrance to any Metro station. Also, if you are a senior, there is a Senior Smart Card that allows you to ride at half price. However, getting the Senior card requires you to purchase online (recommended), or at a "Commuter Store" which we found there are only a few available. One is at Rosslyn stop.

Great place in a great neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a quick weekend in DC and couldn't have been happier. The place was clean and in the perfect location, not far from the metro and great restaurants. We would definitely stay again.

Cannot Beat The Location

  • 4 of 5

My husband, myself and my two boys (ages 6 & 8) had an amazing time in Washington D.C. and a big part of it was this rental.

Being that this location is a short Uber ride to almost anywhere you might want to go (averaged between $8 and $12) it made it perfect to sightsee in the morning and then come back for lunch and a break and then back out again. We made our first stop when we arrived the Safeway Grocery Store down the way and purchased all of our groceries for the week. This allowed us to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in the unit. This was a SUBSTANTIAL money saver on this trip.

I would point out though that if you plan on eating the majority of your meals at the unit, you will need to purchase absolutely everything (salt, pepper, etc.) The unit was also lacking certain items such as a potholder and a spatula. The property manager may have those items (and others) and be willing to bring them by if asked but we made due without. It was not a huge deal to us.

There are a ton of restaurants/pubs/cafes in the area and it made it a great location for us. We would come home from a day of sightseeing and pop in to one (usually The Rebellion) and have an appitizer and a drink before heading in for the night, cooking dinner and putting the kids to bed.

The neighborhood felt safe and although we were informed by multiple Uber drivers that the area got crazy busy with people on Friday, Saturday and sometimes into Sunday we never saw any of it and more importantly we never heard a peep from our place.

I would absolutely recommend this unit and we would definitely stay there again if we make it back to D.C.

Tip: The shower is rather tricky and getting the right temperature can by challenging. It can get VERY hot but if you take your time you will figure it out. I recommend turning on the hot water and then adjusting the cold to get the right temperature. Just a little tip!

Wonderful apartment, very neat, clean, great location!

  • 5 of 5

Upon arrival the apartment was very clean, bright and welcoming. We had a slight issue with the cable service and the property manager responded promptly even though it was a minor issue. It was addressed and fixed within one day. The apartment had all the conveniences of home, right down to laundry detergent and dryer sheets!! The apartment was well maintained and extremely clean! Nicely furnished and contained all the necessities. The building, entryway and stairways were always neat and clean as well. The security of the building with keyless entry was very convenient too! The location was perfect! The neighborhood was great!!! We highly recommend this apartment and the property management company - it was truly a wonderful stay!!
