The owners are English nationals and have been travelling to the United States for over 30 years. We live in the beautiful Roman/Georgian city of Bath in South-West England, famous for it's architecture and Roman Baths.

Why Glenn Tommey chose Palm Springs

This unit has been owned by the same family since 1996. It was purchased to provide a vacation 'home-away-from-home' for an English family wishing to escape the unpredictable British weather! We offer the unit for rental merely to assist with its annual running costs and not for profit. We hope sincerely all renters will enjoy the unit's unique ambiance and location.

What makes this condo unique

Our unit is quite possibly the best located on the Palm Springs Villas II estate, being an upstairs end unit having the benefit an additional window in the dining area. The unit faces westward toward the Banning Pass and the Big Bear range, with spectacular views of the San Jacinto mountain range to the South-West . With easy access to Pool #1, the unit is located on the opposite side to the pool at the end of the block. We have furnished the unit with bright, simple, low height IKEA furnishings in the main living area to maximise & emphasise the available interior space and have recently updated the patio furniture in typical Palm Springs 'mid-century' style (and color).

Magnificent home in the sun!

We enjoyed an eight week stay here from late September to mid November this year. The condo presented as described on the website and was very well equipped for our stay. There's a really good supply of sufficient tableware and cookery utensils for general self catering. The furnishing offers comfortable accommodation for a couple and probably could extend to three for a young family. Both the main settee and bed were very comfortable and there are very good dining facilities within the condo and on the balcony. It's a great place to sit with a cool drink and watch the sun go down behind the mountains.

We settled in quickly and the minor issues we had were swiftly dealt with by Glenn via e-mail. We didn't need any further help but he does have local expertise available in the event of emergencies As indicated in the property description, the TV provision is quite local, but that is more than sufficient for a vacation rental. Storage space is good within the scope of a one bedroomed apartment, and we were able to store our luggage out of the way. There's plenty of covered space for parking both in front and to the side of the apartment block. The development seems to be a mix of owner occupier and rental properties, and so the apartments were never full during our stay and the general estate was quiet and private.

For us a big bonus was the condo's position to one end of the block. We had stayed in another apartment here on a previous occasion and found it to be very dark as there are only windows to the front and under heavy balconies and a walkway in the case of downstairs condos. Here there's an additional window towards the rear side of the property making the apartment much lighter and cheerful. This window also allowed for a provision of fresh air, enhancing the condo environment.

Palm Springs Villlas 2 has six pools, one of which is very close to the apartment. There's a good number of sun beds around the pools and the extensive tree planting around the site ensures plenty of shade. In addition to the pools there are also separate hot tub areas and one of these is right below the apartment.

Given the widespread nature of Palm Springs, a car is essential as nearby supermarket and restaurant choices are relatively limited, but there's a wide variety across the city. The site of the condo means that it's very easy to get away to visit other areas through the Coachella valley, off the I10 corridor or the Joshua Tree Park.

The comment regarding the TV provision refers to the TV in the bedroom, which receives its programs from an antenna; the TV in the living room, however, does receive content via Spectrum Cable service. Once again I would like to thank the renters for their very thorough and complementary review.

First time staying at this location.

We stayed in this condo from January 30 - March 1, 2017 and would have given a higher rating had the condo presented itself as shown on VRBO. Previous renter gave a 5 star review however when we arrived carpets were very much in need of cleaning, dishwasher not working, along with other noticeable differences. We contacted the owner and he did offer to have carpets cleaned but we felt this should have been done prior to our arrival and was also going to be an inconvenience to us. You are also very limited with "Antenna only" TV as there are very few English speaking channels and it is local TV only.

The gated property is very well maintained and the condo is in a good location within the property. It is a cozy condo with ample closet / drawer space and all the dishes, utensils etc that you need. You do need to have a vehicle when staying at this location.

The owner was very friendly and very quick to respond to our concerns. Our first impression was

disappointing but if our concerns are looked after this condo could be an enjoyable place to spend your

vacation.

Owner's Response: I am most grateful for this review of my unit and obviously disappointed the traveller felt the unit was not accurately presented in the listing. With specific reference to TV provision this is, and always has been, clearly stated in the listing details. In response to the cleanliness and general condition of the unit, this has been addressed and the travellers who used the unit immediately afterwards specifically commented on how clean they found the unit and are perfectly happy with the TV arrangements. In closing my unit is uniquely located on the complex and priced extremely competitively.
