My brother and I inherited this property from our late father. He purchased it as a home to use a base for offshore fishing as that was his true passion. He spent great time and effort rebuilding the original structure as well as to build upon it - all the while keeping with the quaint and rural nature of the area. Today we share all that it has to offer with others so that they too can make memories here with their loved ones.
This was a nicely appointed house with plenty of room. We really enjoyed the secluded backyard and back porch where we ate breakfast most mornings. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms spacious. Our local contact was very helpful when we needed any assistance. Overall, it was great place to stay during the month of February. We would recommend this property to anyone for its proximity to stores and the waterfront. The secluded yard was a nice surprise.
A friend and I took our kids here for a beach vacation. The house is absolutely beautiful, very clean and has all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect because the house is secluded from neighbors and noise but only minutes away from the beach. Internet access and cable television were a big plus for keeping the kids entertained in the evenings while the adults relaxed on the large wrap around porch in the front and the spacious porch on the back of the house. Bar none this was one of the best houses we have stayed in on vacation and we can't wait to go back.
The house is just far enough off the main road that you don't have to deal with the traffic and noise but still plenty close enough to spend a day at Disney, go to Kennedy Space Center, or one of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast and there are plenty of great restaurants just down the road from the house.
Word of advice: There are plenty of free public beaches but Sebastian Inlet State Park is well worth the couple bucks it costs per car to get in. The beach is on the north side of the inlet so the water is crystal clear and there aren't as many people. Bring your snorkeling gear and check out the rock jetty on the pier. There are thousands of underwater creatures to see and you might even get up close and personal with a curious manatee. There is also an area inside the park just a little way into the inlet with a natural shallow pool that is perfect for the smaller kids to play in and not have to deal with the waves. There is also a nice restaurant on the beach if you don't bring an ice chest with you for lunch.
Great place to stay!! My family really enjoyed staying at this residence. It was very peaceful and a great place to just get away. We did have to drive a bit to gain access to the beaches but it was never an issue for us by just planning ahead a bit for the day. There were plenty of restaurants very close. The beaches were excellent. We got to see a lot of diverse sea life. I almost stepped on a manatee! Very cool. Took a trip to NASA. Just a great vacation! Highly recommend it.
My friend and I took our kids here for a getaway in July. It's a quiet area to relax with a private yard for the kiddos to enjoy. Disney is a short drive away, as is Palm Beach. The rates are better than reasonable for this quaint home. Can't wait to book it again soon!!
Loved this place!!! It was perfect!! We took a girls trip there!! Disney was a quick drive away!! Miami was a quick drive away!! We had the time of our lives!!
My wife and I stayed in this home in February for a winter getaway from the Michigan snow... We had finally given up on a condo that we've rented for years in Sanibel Island due to increased traffic and new neighbors with dogs that barked throughout the night. We found this home in Sebastian through a recommendation from a friend, and it was perfect for our stay. It is easy to find, and away from town just enough that it's quiet and private, but still convenient for shopping and restaurants. We slept with windows open and didn't hear any traffic, neighbors, etc. The home is well maintained and very nice inside and out. It has a well supplied kitchen with everything we needed for all of our cooking. My wife did go out and buy an air popper for popcorn and we left it at the home for the next occupants. The owner actually sent us a "selfie" afterward of himself hugging the popcorn maker, the likes of which he had apparently never seen before, and he claims it is his new love. I appreciated the "relational" aspect of the owner; he was very easy to communicate with and also very responsive. We contacted him twice during our stay and he answered both times without ever having to play phone tag, which is unheard of in this day and age.
My wife and I stayed here alone as a romantic getaway, and we will definitely go back. We are both in our late 40's, and have four daughters. This would be a great vacation spot with children; there was plenty of space for our entire family and it was a huge home for just the two of us. The price was great compared to other locations that we have stayed, and although it's not "on the beach", I'm just not willing to pay the premium for that type of location anymore.
Sebastian is a very nice, smaller community on the east coast of Florida, and there was no traffic or congestion, which was a welcome relief from the gulf coast. We visited Kennedy Space Center (an hour away, and well worth the trip) and even watched a rocket launch! We did an airboat ride about 45 minutes south of Sebastian, and saw quite a few alligators and very unique wildlife... again, money well spent! We spent time at the beach and even did some fishing.
Sebastian is a diamond in the rough. Close to everything but still quaint enough that you are away from the hustle and bustle.
