We stayed at the cabin for Christmas 2017. It was delightful. There was a snow storm but the driveway was cleared first thing in the morning.

We were visiting grandchildren and plan to return.

Awesome relaxing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

If you want a relaxing place to stay this is the place. Very clean and cute cabin with Wi-Fi and TV. Full size kitchen, bathroom, dining room and living room. The view of the lake is beautiful with all the fall leaves. If you like to fish bring a boat. The boat ramp is just around the corner up the street and the cabin has a boat dock. The bass and perch were hitting hard while we were there. My husband caught a 21 inches bass which we ate. If you are into ATV riding there are a lot of trails around. We did not bring ours but we walked some of the trails.

Before you get to Lee you stop in Lincoln there is a Walmart and a Hannaford's grocery store. Walmart has no produce or meat department so shop at Hannaford's for those items. The best place to get lobster is Drinkwater's. OMG we called and let them know we were coming to get some in the afternoon. When we arrived the staff had saved some lobster for us. So yummy. We had such a relaxing stay and recommend this to everyone. Kelly is awesome and lives around the other side of lake so if you need anything she is right there. What more can you ask for.

Nice and spacious cabin in a perfect setting!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I absolutely loved this cabin! It is very roomy and we were wishing our kids and grandkids were there to enjoy it with us. The setting on the lake just completes the overall experience. The owner, Kelly, was so easy to work with and left a very helpful and detailed note for us complete with where we go for for a bite to eat or essentials that we may have forgotten. I would most definitely book this property again and recommend it for your stay in Maine. Such a quite and relaxing setting you can’t go wrong.

Great fall, summer, and spring vacation destination. Silver Lake is a spring fed lake located in the small rural town of Lee. The cottage is tucked into a quiet cove of the lake and is surrounded by hills. Local mixed deciduous forests provide colorful fall foliage viewing mid-September to mid-October. For those of you looking for a place to spend your days relaxing at the lake floating on a tube, paddling a canoe, sailing, swimming, fishing, or hanging out on the dock and deck, this is the place for you.

For those who wish to explore northern natural areas in the middle of a working forest, there are hundreds of miles of gravel logging roads and structured ATV trails to explore by auto, mountain bike, or ATV. For those who delight in taking day excursions to places of interest, this area is central to historical landmarks and recreational sites such as the Black Mansion and Kings Landing; state and national parks such as Baxter State Park, Acadia National Park, and Roosevelt Campobello International Park; the Canadian border provides exploration to the North; and there are also extensive Maine coastal regions.

This area is also a popular location for hunting and fishing enthusiasts. The gin-colored waters of this spring-fed lake hold bass, pickerel, white perch, and ice out trophy brook trout. These varied species of fish support a healthy loon population. For the hunting enthusiast, there is moose hunting by lottery, bear, deer, partridge and duck hunting. There is open season on coyotes year-round.

WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE: Lee Post Office, Local general store, Restaurant, Hiking Mount Jefferson, Lee Historical Society with the Lee Museum housing a large collection including Civil War artifacts, a piece of the Hindenburg, a birch bark canoe, many antiques, and a horse drawn hearse and Mallet Hall Museum a restored hotel with tours by appointment and the location of public Baked Bean suppers.

looking forward to meeting you!

Kelly and Mike
