Best Family vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

This has been the best vacation for our family yet! Our three boys, ages 7,5, and almost 2 loved the crystal clear lake and the gradual sand entry was a major plus for our little guy. The beach/dock area gets sun for like 10 hours a day, so it was warm enough for the kids to spend their whole day down there. We loved the fact that there is a yard separating the house from the water, it was a good buffer area for the kids and provided a good area for them to play tag, baseball and soccer. We took the canoe out every day exploring and fishing.

The house has everything you would need plus the washing machine and dryer were a major bonus. Also, there's Roku on the tv, which was wonderful on the one rainy day we had, endless movies and tv shows. The house is very private, although there are houses on both sides, there's thick trees and bushes and you almost can't even see them.

We ventured into Lincoln for provisions, it's about a 15 minute drive and they have a Walmart, grocery store, coffee shops, some really cute gift shops and a Mardens which the kids loved for finding cheap toys to spend their hard earned and saved allowance on. There's a really delicious food truck/takeout place at the end of the road leading to the cottage that has good lobster rolls and fried foods as well as delicious ice cream sundaes.

We really feel like we've hit the jackpot finding this cottage and hope Kelly will have us back next year!

Us Mainers don't have to leave the state for a great vacation

  • 5 of 5

Perfect Camp for a family vacation or in our case stay-cation. My husband and myself, one of our sons, his wife and our 2 grandchildren and Grand dog. Plenty of room inside and out. Really, awesome porch over looking the yard down to the lake. A full bathroom, complete kitchen, nice and welcoming dining room and living room is spacious, clean and inviting. The private sand beach was great for our grandchildren and the water, well Maine lake are crystal clear. Plenty of fishing to be had on the lake, we enjoyed a abundant fish fry one afternoon from our catch.

Kelly is GREAT! So attentive and helpful, I have made a new friend for sure.

Quaint piece of heaven

  • 5 of 5

Lovely little log home style cottage located on a not so busy road. Sits back from the road enough that you are secluded but not too far where you are lost. All the modern amenities needed but rustic enough to enjoy. Short little walk to your very own shore on a quiet lake. Crystal clear waters that children can enjoy and a nice dock that adults love! Definitely a good place to stay! We'll be back

Relaxing...just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 2 teenage boys, dog, and myself loved this place! The water was clear and perfect for swimming. The fishing was great either in our boat or right from the dock. The big covered porch was perfect for reading and relaxing and a little napping too! Very clean with everything you might need from washer/dryer, towels, and kitchen supplies.

Autumn Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time staying at the cabin in Lee. It was quiet, private, and relaxing with an incredible view of the water, but close enough to Lincoln to get supplies and have some Chinese food for lunch!. We were right across the road from Paper Company land which was perfect for taking our dogs out for exercise and hunting. The house was comfortable with everything we needed and when we asked the owners who live nearby for an extra lamp to read in bed, they delivered it within minutes!! The description did not mention that there is a washer and dryer so that was an added bonus. Would absolutely consider coming in the summer to take advantage of the lake. We look forward to staying here again and coming back as soon as possible.

Great fall, summer, and spring vacation destination. Silver Lake is a spring fed lake located in the small rural town of Lee. The cottage is tucked into a quiet cove of the lake and is surrounded by hills. Local mixed deciduous forests provide colorful fall foliage viewing mid-September to mid-October. For those of you looking for a place to spend your days relaxing at the lake floating on a tube, paddling a canoe, sailing, swimming, fishing, or hanging out on the dock and deck, this is the place for you.

For those who wish to explore northern natural areas in the middle of a working forest, there are hundreds of miles of gravel logging roads and structured ATV trails to explore by auto, mountain bike, or ATV. For those who delight in taking day excursions to places of interest, this area is central to historical landmarks and recreational sites such as the Black Mansion and Kings Landing; state and national parks such as Baxter State Park, Acadia National Park, and Roosevelt Campobello International Park; the Canadian border provides exploration to the North; and there are also extensive Maine coastal regions.

This area is also a popular location for hunting and fishing enthusiasts. The gin-colored waters of this spring-fed lake hold bass, pickerel, white perch, and ice out trophy brook trout. These varied species of fish support a healthy loon population. For the hunting enthusiast, there is moose hunting by lottery, bear, deer, partridge and duck hunting. There is open season on coyotes year-round.

WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE: Lee Post Office, Local general store, Restaurant, Hiking Mount Jefferson, Lee Historical Society with the Lee Museum housing a large collection including Civil War artifacts, a piece of the Hindenburg, a birch bark canoe, many antiques, and a horse drawn hearse and Mallet Hall Museum a restored hotel with tours by appointment and the location of public Baked Bean suppers.

looking forward to meeting you!

Kelly and Mike
