Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful little house that has everything you need for a wonderful vacation in the mountains and sits on a beautiful lake that is stocked with a wide variety of freshwater fish. The owner even provides access to 3 kayaks, a paddle boat, and a canoe, so you don't have to bring your own boats!!! The house is on its own lot with a wood-line that provides quite a bit of privacy, so you do not have to worry about neighbors or noise. I am definitely looking forward to spending more time at this location next year. At the very top of my favorites list.

So peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

We came to Camp Davis for a week with our children (12 &15).....to relax, fish, hike and spend time together before the craziness of the school year begins. We accomplished all that and more here. The house was exactly as described. It was very clean and very well stocked with all you might need or have forgotten. I had come prepared with several frozen meals ready to put into my Instant Pot pressure cooker....that I forgot to pack!! Turns out I found a crock pot in the Davis kitchen and managed to slow cook all our meals instead! We stopped for groceries on the way as suggested....and the rest of the week we picked things up at the IGA in Townsend as we found ourselves driving that way almost daily. The lake was wonderful.....so quiet and so peaceful. We got up every morning and had coffee on the pier watching the mist float over the water as the sun rose. We fished almost every day but only caught small blue gill. My daughter saw a big bass but they weren't biting. We used the kayaks and paddle boat every day as well. We did the entire lake and my son and I even managed to find the one geocache hidden on the lake too! (I won't say where. ;) ). We did not see any neighbors other than one man on a paddle board on the first day. The houses around us were quiet.....except for a few dogs. We drove around the lake at one point and there are many houses.....but they were all quiet during our week! We hiked a few trails....one that was suggested! We went zipling in Sevierville and also went tubing in Townsend. We shopped in Gatlinburg and we drove Cades Cove! We also took Rich Mountain Road out of Cades Cove for an extra adventure. None of these things were an unreasonable drive.....and it was beautiful to take Foothills Parkway to all of them anyway! In the evening it was wonderful to escape the tourists and go back to our quiet lake at Camp Davis. Our weather threatened to be rainy and stormy ALL week, but we lucked out every single day as the storms fizzled before they reached us. The temps were VERY hot and sticky however, and this would be the one downside to Camp Davis.....its very hard to keep it cool in such weather with the air conditioners provided and they are noisy.....but it wasn't unbearable. All in all we had a wonderful week and I would most certainly recommend Camp Davis and have already! Thank you for letting us stay!

Absolutely wonderful vacation. Beautiful lake house in a pretty isolated area that's great for R and R. My family of 5 enjoyed our time at Camp Davis . We spent many hours kayaking, fishing from the dock, playing board games on the deck , cooking over the fire, and simply enjoying the beauty of the location . We did venture out 2 days , one on a hike to Laurel Falls, and another on a white water rafting trip in Ocoee, TN. I would highly recommend both of these . We have rented many places before, and Camp Davis has a bit of everything! Thank you Kirk and Linda for sharing your little slice of heaven with us . The Offerman Family -Illinois

Secluded getaway

  • 5 of 5

We chose this as a place to stay close to a camp we were working. We knew it would be out of the way and quiet. We arrived to a beautiful evening near the lake and enjoyed a quiet evening at the house. We took advantage of the kitchen for breakfast the next morning, though didn't cook too often while there. The kids found the board games and played for a little while. The only thing that gave us a little pause was the arrangement of the bedrooms - we didn't realize that we had to go through one of them to get to the upper floor. That was a little strange, but it worked out for the week.

We enjoyed it for a getaway and wish we'd had more time to enjoy the property ourselves. The lake was calm and the boats were ready to go. The kids enjoyed the hammocks. We enjoyed the quiet.

The roads were quite winding and steep, but offered some great views of the mountains. I'd definitely recommend to people wanting to get away for a while and enjoy some quiet.

Questions were answered quickly for the few we had. There were several brochures and booklets about nearby attractions and parks for those who want to wander a little. Our friends used those to plan a couple of day trips while we were at camp and enjoyed the help in knowing what was around and how to get there.

Relaxing lake spot

  • 4 of 5

We spent 3 nights at camp Davis, we enjoyed fishing most all day. The kayaks and canoes where so nice to have available for enjoying the lake or fishing on the lake. The sunroom Outback was our spot every evening to play cards with the family or it was our quite spot in the middle of the day.

Our only downside was the air downstairs was not cool enough without two fans going on both sides of the room and there was only one small TV upstairs for the whole cabin. Everyone that stayed with us said we still would love to come back in the fall and stay at this cabin. The owner and manager are so friendly and was there if we needed anything.

Lovely home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second trip to Camp Davis.

Both times we stayed for two weeks. We love Camp Davis because it's like a home away from home. Often you arrive at vacation rentals and you don't have this or that. The owners of Camp Davis thought of everything. A fully eqipped kitchen, blowdryer, beach towels, sheets, extra blankets, books, magazines, hiking maps, a gas grill and grill utensils, bonfire place incl. tons of wood to burn, 3 kayaks!, a canoe, pedalboat, tubes, a raft, 2 hammocks... I could go on and on...

We will definetly be back a third time!

Thank you Davis' family or opening your beautiful home to us!
