Really enjoyed our stay it was very close to all we wanted to do hope to come back again one day. Place was really clean thanks
Cozy, rustic feel. Close to attractions, and has a mountainous feel even with being in town. Deer walk by the yard in the evenings & for walkers, the Michelson Trail is just feet away.
The Laughing Water Cabin was a great place to retreat to after a busy day in the Black Hills. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied and accessible. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was small but more than adequate.
We had a wonderful vacation!
This place is a great alternative for a family vacation. We appreciated having a place that we could cook some of our own meals and all share some space together. We are a family of four and our teenage/young adult boys are both in the 6'6" range and my husband is even taller. It was nice to not have to split up between two hotel rooms.
The cabin was clean and pleasant. It had nearly everything we needed, and was within an easy distance to stores for those things we didn't have along. Having the grill, stove and oven allowed us to make a full breakfast in the morning and enjoy burgers and steak in the evenings. The beds were very comfortable and there was enough room in the dining room to set up an additional air mattress for our youngest son, so the boys didn't have to share.
The house location worked well for us as we spent most of our time exploring the area south of Rapid City. It was really convenient for Jewel Cave and Crazy Horse. We even played mini golf and shopped for souvenirs in Custer.
I would recommend this place to anybody that wants a quiet cabin that is conveniently located.
Everything was great. It was everything as advertised. We had a great time. Thanks
We enjoyed our visit to the area and staying in Custer was a good choice to be able to make day trips to all the tourist sights. Overall the house was very nice. The kitchen/dining area was modern and very suitable for cooking and eating in. I like to cook so that was important to me. I would like to bring up two things that I would have liked. 1. The satellite TV only provided basic channels, we were hoping for a lot more selection. The internet was not fast enough to stream video without being choppy. 2. There was no shampoo, lotion, body soap or conditioner. I travel a lot for work and have become dependent on those small amenities. Even with the two critiques we would recommend the house to all.
Custer is located centrally in the Black Hills. You can find many things to do in Rapid City (45 miles), Hot Springs (30 miles), Lead/Deadwood (50 miles), Spearfish Canyon (52 miles), Hill City (13 miles), Keystone (20 miles) or in Custer State Park (Iron Mountain Rd Scenic Drive, Needles Highway Scenic Drive, Wildlife Loop Drive). So many things to do that I can't mention them all here...
