About Jessica Heglar

Our cabin is owned by family. The owner and her sister were pictured while on one of the beautiful hikes in the Shenandoah National Park. We are lucky enough to live in Luray right in the middle of all the beauty. We def take advantage of all the hiking and kayaking there is to offer so be sure to do the same on your visit.

Jessica Heglar purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Jessica Heglar chose Luray

We want our guest to see what mother nature has to offer inside and out. Each piece of wood was hand selected from the trees in the Shenandoah Valley and our cabin was built with love. It has so much character and uniqueness about itself that you will be amazed at its true beauty. You can enjoy your time inside the cabin or outside around the fire pit and picnic area or on the river bank. You may also want to spend some time in the hot tub to just relax!! Its a fabulous place to just get away and make memories that will last a lifetime. If you are into hiking or taking scenic drives, we are located 20 minutes from the Shenandoah National Park. Feel free to take a dip in the Shenandoah River or take a trip kayaking/canoeing. Also we are located 10 minutes from Luray Caverns.

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabin was built this year and is made of cedar and yellow & white pine with hickory cabinets. Each tree was hand selected and cut down by us (owners) from different locations among the Shenandoah Valley. The beams along the fire place and overhead came from a barn in the Valley that is over 150 years old. We reclaimed the beams and wood to make the mantel and fireplace. How beautiful and characteristic the wood truly is!! A lot of time and love has been put into this cabin to welcome our guests and everyone who walks through our doors to enjoy the beauty of mother nature. We ask that our cabin is treated with care as we have done!! We hope all of our guest will enjoy the cabin and come back to see us year after year!

Felt like home for the holidays

  • 5 of 5

OMG! when I say awesome, I mean AWESOME. This is the cutest cozy little cabin and the best decision I made for the holidays. I planned Christmas in the mountains for my kids this year since they are now older and not into toys anymore. I wasn't sure how this would turn out but I packed the car, gathered up a few gifts, and headed down interstate 66. Once we got there we stopped at a local grocery store and did our shopping. When we pulled up and stepped inside the cabin the look on my daughters face was nothing less than amazing they loved it and my heart melted. Mom did it again!

The photos online do not do this place any justice. Believe me you will absolutely love it for a cozy weekend with your significant other, the perfect little private getaway, girls trip, or just fun with the family. It has it all, hot tub, gas/charcoal grill, fire place, fire pit, canoes, and so much more. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need and once you settle in you are sure to forget you are away from home. You will melt right on in....... this is a all year round cabin right in the middle of so many sites. While there we visited the Luray Caverns, car museum, and toy museum. We didn't do too much more outside of the cabin since we packed family games (lol).....the kids even got time to spend in the hot tub. We will definitely be returning.

Thank you Jessica for everything........

Great location and stay

  • 5 of 5

Great property matches the description exactly. Nice location next to the river too. Even better if the hot tub was up stairs.

Kids loved the wrap around balcony.

Well Kept!

  • 4 of 5

Cabin is new and smelled of faint Cedar. Very clean and a great view of the river. Wish we could've stayed longer. The owners let us check out late which was a huge plus! Would return again.

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

Property was exactly as described, clean and new and in excellent condition. Kids enjoyed lots of nature play/exploration by the river, finding crayfish and snails, and we caught several smallmouth bass. Spotty internet access but that made for a nice unplugged vacation. We loved the cedar smell and the wraparound porch. And the drive to the cabin was so beautiful - it's just a lovely area with lots of farmland and beautiful views.
