About Jessica Heglar

Our cabin is owned by family. The owner and her sister were pictures while on one of the beautiful hikes in the Shenandoah National Park. We are lucky enough to live in Luray right in the middle of all the beauty. We def take advantage of all the hiking and kayaking there is to offer so be sure to do the same on your visit.

Jessica Heglar purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Jessica Heglar chose Shenandoah Valley

We want our guest to see what mother nature has to offer inside and out. Each piece of wood was hand selected from the trees in the Shenandoah Valley and our cabin was built with love. It has so much character and uniqueness about itself that you will be amazed at its true beauty. You can enjoy your time inside the cabin or outside around the fire pit and picnic area or on the river bank. You may also want to spend some time in the hot tub to just relax!! Its a fabulous place to just get away and make memories that will last a lifetime. If you are into hiking or taking scenic drives, we are located 20 minutes from the Shenandoah National Park. Feel free to take a dip in the Shenandoah River or take a trip kayaking/canoeing. Also we are located 10 minutes from Luray Caverns.

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabin was built this year and is made of cedar and yellow & white pine with hickory cabinets. Each tree was hand selected and cut down by us (owners) from different locations among the Shenandoah Valley. The beams along the fire place and overhead came from a barn in the Valley that is over 150 years old. We reclaimed the beams and wood to make the mantel and fireplace. How beautiful and characteristic the wood truly is!! A lot of time and love has been put into this cabin to welcome our guests and everyone who walks through our doors to enjoy the beauty of mother nature. We ask that our cabin is treated with care as we have done!! We hope all of our guest will enjoy the cabin and come back to see us year after year!

Beautiful, clean, well-appointed

  • 5 of 5

Highly recommended. This property is beautiful and smells great as soon as you step in for the first time. The location is also nice because it feels secluded, yet Walmart is less than 15 minutes away so you can pretty much get anything there.

Just book it, you won't be disappointed.

Nice, beautiful riverfront cabin.

  • 4 of 5

Had a great 2 night stay at this cabin. The location is very nice. Quiet enough even though there are also a few neighbors around. The riverfront location is very beautiful. It's very peaceful to sit on the deck in the morning having coffee and watch out into the river. The cabin is well equipped with usual kitchen items (there's no oven fyi). The cabin condition is pretty new. The A/C works perfectly. The water has some sulfer smell but it's not a big deal. We just used bottled water to brush our teeth. Overall, everyone in our group loves the cabin and the location. We'd love to come back again.

A Great Get Away Spot!

  • 5 of 5

A Very Nice Cabin to get away from all the stress of everyday life! The area is so Peaceful with basically all you need at the cabin! Clean, spacious & well maintained the cabin is Beautiful! The only problem at or with the rental is the water pressure and the water smelling like sulfur, otherwise basically perfect. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit! Thanks!

Very beautiful place right on the Shenandoah River. Quiet and peaceful get away. The house is beautiful and smell like cedar. You are only about 10 minutes away from downtown Luray where you can go out to eat or find something to do and Walmart is not far away either. I would definitely recommend this place and planning on going back. Thank you for a awesome place to stay.

NEW, Nicely Constructed Cabin overlooking river with plenty of amenities

  • 5 of 5

The cabin had a great cedar smell and took us a little under 2 hrs from DC to get there. We were blown away at how nice the interior of the cabin was put together.

Plenty of wood stocked to take advantage of the fire pit.

The hot tub and corn hole were also nice touches.

There is a sulfur smell from the tap/shower water but who cares since everything else was so nice and the owner was responsive with any questions we had before and while at the cabin.

We stopped at the Luray caverns on the way to the cabin and that was convenient.

The cabin was about 25 minutes from "The Corner Store" in Sperryville - Awesome place to find pre-hike snacks good humus, fresh baked bread and chicken salad made in house.

We entered Skyline drive around mile marker 36 so you can pick trails near there.

All in all great two day escape. Will plan to be back.

Weekend fun

  • 4 of 5

This property was very nice on the inside and plenty of room on the outside. Kitchen was fully stocked minus an actual oven however do have a 4 burner top for eggs in the morning. I would suggest bringing your own grill whereas the charcoal grill is an outdoor pinic style grill exposed to the weather at all times. Hot tub was nice however with 3 people in it and it being cold outside the temp fell below 90 degrees but probably due to not really having ever used one whereas there are not directions that we found. Overall great trip would probably go back in the summer to use the small river in the back yard.
