I was born and raised in this area, and left to join the Marine Corps after high-school. We purchased this cabin after vising Hatfield and falling in love with it. While we are away, we want to offer others the same experience we have had. There is so much to do and see around this area, and I encourage folks from all over to come and enjoy it.
Christopher Potts & Blake Teschner (manager) purchased this cabin in 2015
Our property is well maintained, and different from others in the area. Our home has many African items that I personally purchased throughout my travels in Tanzania, Kenya, and South Africa. Our cabin also offers a Sauna, and jacuzzi bathtub in our master suite. Summer of 2015 we put in custom Amish made kitchen cabinets, and a pantry, new carpeting, paint, LCD TV, and furniture. Why stay anywhere else?
Our cabin has a fenced in back yard so no worries about the little ones. We have a wonderful fire-pit, sauna and jacuzzi. We are very open and understanding home owners, and have a fantastic property manager. Should you have any questions please just ask...
Nice cozy place! We really like the location in Hatfield since it's in between Clark & Jackson counties for UTV trail riding. Close to convenience store & nice places to eat with friendly people!
Great area to get away. Friendly and quiet neighborhood which was great for sitting around the fire. Close to other attractions so had plenty to do.
Liked the décor and appreciated that there was firewood already provided. Had a few issues with some of the amenities-the jacuzzi tub button didn't work and the one bed frame broke. But the owners were very quick to compensate us for the inconvenience it caused. Very quiet and relaxing weekend over all.
The property was small but very well updated. Everything looked beautiful, it was a wonderful place to stay. The manager even left us a bottle of wine to celebrate our honeymoon. Thanks for everything
This older cabin has been added on to and updated. It Is well furnished with kitchen needs; microwave, toaster, blender, utensils dishes, coffee pot etc There is a large TV with DVD and game system but only 4 TV channels viewable. The downstairs bedroom is small with 2 twin beds, no usable closet. Box fan provided for ventilation. The double bed is in a loft with a twin bed on the floor. Very tight to get around in the loft bedroom with both beds and the corner jetted tub. There isn't total privacy due to the partially open loft. There was some mold in the shower and a very musty shower curtain. The rusty tub wouldn't have gotten so bad if the shower plumbing was repaired. The foam/fabric dishmat was also very smelly and stained. Needs to be replaced as well as a stained carpet square used in the kitchen. There were some dust balls and hairs on the window AC electric cord. ( I had to plug something in the same outlet) The AC worked very well but we shut if off at nite because it would have been too cold right next to upstairs bed. Nice ceiling fan did the trick in the evenIng. There is a gas and charchol grill available. There was a cat and musty smell throughout that was disappointing. There was wood supplied for the backyard fire pit but we didn't use it A canoe seat is broken off so it's not usable. We did not use the separate portable sauna that's on the property. Quiet except for occasional train or ATV going by. Cabin is located 1.3 mile from Russel Memotial Park. ATV trails, damn , restruanants and roller rink are very close. Had a good experience with Blake answering emails and phone calls. Answered all my questions, offered some area suggestions. There were many brochures and travel magazine in the cabin. Anyone over 6 ft tall will touch their heads in some low ceiling areas. No data on my ATT cellphone but got ph signal. Can't give higher rating due to the offensive odors, stained carpet and mold. Would be better if a deep clean was done and more frequent replacement of the shower curtain and dishmat.
The property was well worth the drive. We arrived later than expected and had no problems settling in. The air conditioning was already on and the cabin was a lovely 72 degrees when we arrived. Chris and Blake were nice enough to send me a text message welcoming us to the property, it was nice to have their cell number just in case we needed it. We never needed it and spent the weekend relaxing walking around town, headed to the falls and relaxing at the beach which was within walking distance for us even with the baby. Chris and Blake go above and beyond by providing an abundance of cookware, linens and even snacks. How often do you find a 1/2 gallon of ice cream as a welcome gift. I am sure it would have been delicious but we never got around to enjoying it. The selection of my name is earl was a hit as I loved that show. We really enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to any couple with a few children. If you want to go back to your childhood you can even go roller skating about 5 mins from the cabin. The only down side has nothing to do with Chris and Blakes place but more with the town. The Store was closed all weekend and we forgot one of our toothbrushes so we ended up driving to 3 different towns as the gas stations were sold out. Just remember your toiletries and enjoy the peace and quiet or Atv trail riding as well.
Beautiful place provided by wonderful people.
Thanks Chris and Blake
